Nice video. Great timing capturing the incident. Lesson on why standing too close could hurt.
THAT is a really good point! Thanks.
This is why we sat at Morwell waiting for so long! Thanks for the video! Definitely a lesson to anyone wanting to stand close
Yeah it was a long day of waiting, but well worth it....
Like yourself Codie Burns. You've been guilty of it countless times kiddo.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Great shots Tex. And hearing the K working on one cylinder was interesting.
Yes it was some day and quite a catch, I didn't realise I got that link dropping till I started editing! Still love the take-off best...
@@symphonyofsteam 100 metres either way and you would have missed it! The driver shut off just before it comes into view but you can hear the banging before the lever breaks free.
Great effort by Drivers keeping all that incident under Control. AAAPlus
Triple A rating per loco, thats AAAAAAAAA.!
Awesome video! That valve gear failure was quite interesting.
Yes it was, glad I wasn't line side!
Excellent video, very well done. Also great catch of the moment of failure on K100.
That last shot was just brilliant. A great video overall
It must have been tempting to borrow some of the running gear from the K Class loco in Yarragon. ;)
Thanks, it was worth the wait - but it was cold!
A fantastic video you at the right place at the right time to catch it that piston
Yeah I guess I was lucky but I'd rather it didn't happen for Steamrail n the crews sake...
@@symphonyofsteam yes totally agree it was a bit of a disaster wasn't it
Great footage!
Glad you enjoyed it, my pleasure to be there.
Great capture
Thanks great day thanks to Steamrail.
Crazy catch

a little bit after 3:44 the side rod came off!!
Yes you can see the driver responding after cutting off...
Fantastico!!!
Thanksico.

How on Earth did that happen?
3:55 there goes the rod of K100!
i can imagine what mood the crews where in. the simular thing happend to r761 its one stayed on the loco
The crews did a brilliant job, remedied the problem, got the loco home in style..
@@symphonyofsteam cheers yeah they did well to get it back home
Shame to see K100 looking so lame like that. At least they kept her in steam for using the whistle!
It needed to stay in steam to lubricate the RH side cylinder for the trip back anyway.

So that’s what happened to K100.
