11:20 "How can you use such beautiful things?" - In using them I acknowledge their beauty and the work and passion that went into making them. I'm only starting to weave but I'm a sock knitter and I only give socks to people where I know they use them. I don't spend dozens of hours on knitting a pair of socks so that they're ignored afterwards - I want people to enjoy and show off my work :)
Hi Kelly - I have created 7 scarves, 2 sets of placemats and several towels for Christmas gifts. I never went back to the double heddle because I was so frustrated. As soon as Christmas is over, I am going to weave a sampler. I bought the book - very good. Then I am going to make something for myself. My loom is folded down and against the wall. It looks lonely and is calling me back - my goal in 2025 is to master a double heddle project and use your beginner class. Because of you, I love weaving. Thank you and do have a Merry Christmas.🥰
Oh, my gosh! This video helped me understand the potential of a sampler. I would never have thought beyond just seeing the pattern, draw up, and shrinkage. Thank you so much❤
I have a rigid heddle loom and would like to eventually try a twill gamp if you are interested in ideas for classes. I have some of your classes and love your teaching style.
Excellent project suggestions, Kelly! You've included ideas for learning about yarns, building skills, choosing achievable projects, and having fun weaving. ❤
I just did a simple weave on my rigid heddle making a pair of dish towels in 8/2 cotton and ready to tackle a new project. Those diamond towels look very tempting!
@@karatstixraw They are so much fun to weave and the results are wonderful. The weave along for those towels runs in January usually, here are details if you're interested - kellycasanovaweavinglessons.com/2020/11/diamond-stripe-towel-weave-along.html
Just got my 10" Sampleit and started a sampler, trying out some new techniques. I got the Weaver's Idea Book too. Help me out: I recent watched one of your videos, possibly an older one or from your online school, where you showed a technique of making a "window" of open warp using a cardboard warp separator. The you showed how you can weave in a ribbon, an inkle band etc as decoration. I can't find that video and I'd love to do something like that on this sampler.

Well done with completing so many Christmas gifts! I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas too ❤️
Thank you for the good ideas! I have a little stack of fabric that I don’t know what to do with-the notebook cover is great 😊
I'm glad it was helpful!
