    This is what Disneyland was founded on, experiences like this... not just waiting in line after line for rides. Walt Disney wanted to recreate this time in America and it's amazing to see. Walt would be proud.

      @tbone9347 9 років тому +3

      Ronin Editor I agree. Walt would not be proud of the way they have turned his company into a home for homosexuals.

      T Bone There's always an asshat who just has to post a totally irrelevant comment...

    • @tbone9347
      @tbone9347 9 років тому +2

      onitram1 Irrelevant eh? You must not watch the news. The country is being overrun by liberals and fringe deviant groups.

    • @onitram1
      @onitram1 9 років тому +4

      T Bone Yes, irrelevant. You must not read the dictionary- "not connected with or relevant to something." This is a video about boogie-woogie piano at Disneyland, and your reply was to a comment about how that's the kind of thing Walt envisioned, rather than waiting in line for rides. But, since you insist...this country was founded by a "fringe group", and some of our most cherished documents were written by liberals and radicals, influenced in large part by the writings of even more liberal and radical predecessors. The world must be a scary place for you, seeing deviants, homos, and others you disapprove of everywhere you look eh?

      Nah.........the bunch that founded this country were nothing like the morons running it today. No way are they alike. Good try.

    That need to happen everyday there at Disney!!! That was awesome!!! I love piano, but those people are devoted. It is hard to find good boogie woogie piano and good piano impovers....Especially 3 that can all improv at the same time and make it sound good. Wonderful work. More piano at Disney please!!!!

    Heeey, That's my old friend John Lee from Big John's billiard hall in Belmont Shore Calif. I used to watch him chop and rock back in the day when he worked there and lived out of a garage and a super cool VW bus with piano and TV. Live 100 years John Lee. Paul Louis Venne now of Bangkok Thailand. Thanks.

    Two things I love about the Disneyland musicians: 1) They're ALWAYS top-notch, and B) If they figure out a guest has talent, they have NO qualms about looping the guest into the act. Once, the a capella jazz singers in New Orleans Square noticed that of my friends and I had picked up the chord progression of the chorus and were doing spontaneous three-part harmony. The singers pulled us front and center and lowered their own volume so we could be the main attraction for a couple minutes! Also, since our entire family sings and knows a lot of obscure Christmas carols, we can usually sing along with the Dickens carollers. And once again, they pulled my dad up with them because he knew the exact arrangement they were doing and could sing the baritone part.

      Jed Ling This wasn't a song but an improvisation. Boogie Woogie is a style of music with a regular walking bass-line over the standard 12-bar Blues chord progression at fast tempo. Since it's based on the 12-bar Blues progression it's very easy to improvise on with playing the Blues scale on the correct key.

      Oh I didn't know that.. Thanks! :)

      Jed Ling It sounds very much like Great Balls of Fire, at first I thought it was. Listen to that if you like this kind of music

    • @jean-pierreboies9749
      @jean-pierreboies9749 9 років тому +2

      ***** Great Balls of Fire is a really good song but it's not really the same style (Rock). But like many simple songs of similar styles, it uses the same I7-IV7-V7 chord progression. Because of that they sound similar, even in different styles.

    Hello Jackie, Thank You for sharing the video. I'm Johnny's wife, Mrs.Rachel Hodges & the teenager standing next to the piano wearing the gold blouse, silver fedora hat & long curls in her face is our teenager Mary. May I ask if you would be willing to fix your setting on this video more publicly that I may be able to download this video for my family's keepsakes? I'v seen this same video posted by a few others, but no-one's yet been willing to let me download it. Thank You & God Bless You. :)

    Have to wonder if this is real or if it's something staged by Disney - they use ringers in other shows so it's quite possible (probable?) that they did here as well.

      +Sam Adams The young guy in the middle is Jonny May. He's the main professional on piano at that location now. The guy on base is Johnny Hodges, Jonny May's teacher and former main professional at that location. He often drops by and joins in. Don't know if he's retired or not. And the guy playing around on the top end looks like some random guy who plays boogie. But there are lots of random guys who play boogie and they are always welcome to join in.
