Well well.... leading up to her album ( out may 8th) I feel like you should react to Paramore past albums. I mean After Laugher is about mental health, Self titled is about surviving all the band trouble and Brand new eyes just spilled so much tea. On all 3 albums, you can really hear Hayley pushing herself vocally.

After Laughter is honestly my favorite album of theirs even though I do still love the others as well. Simmer is such a great way to introduce us to what shes got coming !

"After Laughter" is Paramore's best album hands down.
Aaron Daves I must disagree with you here, I love All We Know is Falling and some of their B Sides more than After Laughter for sure.

Her writing definitely got darker/deeper over the years. On After Laughter a lot of the tracks SOUND very upbeat and lifting, makes you want to dance....but if you actually listen to the lyrics it’s quite the opposite. AL is lyrically one of my favorite. She’s definitely singing from a very sad place given all the experiences she had as an individual and Paramore went through.

Also I don't know if it's intentional, but when she's saying simmer, it also sounds like mercy. Very cool.
Her album comes out on May 8th titled Petals for Armor and I'm so stoked!

Definitely go back to the three paramore albums you haven't heard before. They're amazing. This song she actually wrote with her bandmate Taylor and another unofficial band member Joey. Which I think makes it interesting in other ways. Because it has the bones of Paramore but is completely different. I'm so excited to see what Hayley does with this project! Paramore's self titled and after laughter are two of my favorite albums of all time so I can't help but have high expectations. Especially after hearing Simmer.
after laughter is so fantastic and it's actually a really good parallel to simmer because after laughter has these really raw lyrics about mental health and struggle to this very synth-pop beat and instrumental whereas simmer is so much darker but still upbeat in a sense so it seems like a perfect progression for her

Agreed ..... RIOT is my absolute favorite album of Paramore’s. Hayley’s new album, Petals for Armor, drops May 8th. I am also LOVING this dark side as well. LOVE her vocals on this track. I love EVERYTHING about this song & video. The concept is captured very well. You have to go watch the Interlude to Simmer if you already haven’t. She is so musically talented, it’s amazing!!! Her voice is beautiful & definitely one of the better female voices of our time. Her range is incredible! This is sick. Dope. Fire. 🔥
You need to listen to the other Paramore albums. There’s an album for every mood. Brand New Eyes is filled with anger and rage. But this seems more authentic. The whole second verse itself I feel her anger the most. One thing Hayley does best is express anger.
See ignorance, Playing God, Monster, and I’m Not Angry Anymore Interlude. To name a few.
Side note: she said quite a bit was still co-wrote with Taylor York. I don’t know why he doesn’t branch out more from the Paramore downtime. Because the dude is a great writer and producer that nobody really knows or gives enough credit to.

You said you heard more upbeat music in after laughter, but that album was focused on mental health. If you pay attention to her lyrics most of it is a bit dark.

Just fyi- Taylor York who you probably know is Paramore's lead guitarist and cowriter (who also coproduced Self Titled and produced After Laughter) cowrote this song with Hayley and Joey Howard who plays bass for Paramore on tour also cowrote this. Taylor produced it as well
