The game just uses the Alpha sprites since both series were being developed by Capcom at the same time, plus the anime style of the Alpha games compliment the comic book style of the Marvel characters.
invaderhim23 cyber Akuma was in Marvel Superheroes vs SF Apocalypse took control of Akuma and added robotic parts to him. He’s one of the harder final bosses imo.
