I miss the Virtual Q Sound intro. That is what I loved about capcom arcade games back then, is the Virtual Q Sound intro that was displayed before the game started. CPS2 was the Golden age for Capcom!!
Me too! I love Virtual Q-Sound so much, but that Q-Sound logo might be on my video game company logo wallpaper rather than just anything else that isn't about video game company logo. Ever heard Dolby? that one i love as well as Q-Sound.

The first time I saw this arcade game was like "what? What's that... X-Men? Street Fighter?"
The local was empty at that moment... I played it. That experiencie has been in my mind since then.

I think people already knew X-Men by the time this game came out.

The vs. series is my favorite.
I remember seeing this arcade game at a military base exchange arcade in Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio back in 1996. It was great.
Considering that Cammy wasn't in SFA2 (until the final definitive version SFA2 Gold was released on the PS2), would Capcom have opted for Rose instead, and partnered her up with Storm, while Chunli is teamed up with Rougue?

Like the character select screen even amount of men and women from both worlds. But why take place during Street Fighter Alpha?
Because it was the best artstyle.
Those were the games that were out at the time.
The game just uses the Alpha sprites since both series were being developed by Capcom at the same time, plus the anime style of the Alpha games compliment the comic book style of the Marvel characters.
Can somebody please tell me the best way and experience to play this arcade marvel games on pc ?

Apocalypse took control of Akuma and added robotic parts to him. He’s one of the harder final bosses imo.

Dark Savior Madara is correct. That was Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. That came out a year after this game.
Pity they didn't do a Marvel Vs. Capcom film, the part about Chun-Li joining the X-Men would be good for her, plus even though she is not a mutant, she can better enhance and control her skills.
PS. Anyone for a Hasbro Vs. Capcom crossover? It would be cool to see:
1. Guile teaming up with Duke from GI Joe.
2. Chun-Li fighting alongside EqG Legend Of Everfree Rarity (Rarity could wear a Chinese dress and use her Diamond Shield power as a guard move)
3. Cobra Commander fighting alongside Discord.
4. For max awesomeness, EqG Legend Of Everfree Rainbow Dash joins forces with Rainbow Mika for a super combo.
5. What about Karin joining forces with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon?
6. Megatron (G1) Vs. Lord Tirek or Storm King!

Rogue's BGM was a beast in this game. I used to drag the fight on just to listen to her BGM more. Drove my opponents nuts cuz I didn't finish them off quickly like I killed her partner XD

I used to see this game at the laundromats in my city as well, and even at the local swapmeet. Even my old college had this machine at the student activities center.

@@Chrissaiyanjojoknight I've beaten it a few times when I was at school; I mostly blew all my quarters on Marvel vs. Capcom 2 instead because it was addictive, like crack in the form of a video game.

Though not the first Marvel fighting game made by Capcom, it was the first Marvel/Capcom crossover game. And it was *X-Men* vs. Street Fighter. Now Capcom are just going to shove them aside like they were never a thing? For shame Capcom.
