It's a "difficult" decision because most nursing homes today are grossly understaffed, workers underpaid and burnt out by huge patient loads. This caller's anxiety issues won't necessarily improve after her parents are sent to a nursing home. She and/or other family members should devise a DAILY visiting schedule, with visits staggered to cover each shift. Otherwise, neglect and possibly abuse may follow. Of course, this assumes there is enough money to pay for the nursing home, about $10,000 per month.
