great video and what a plethera of 68s excellent loved it take care a t b syd👍
Thanks for the message 👍
Great footage of the open day. First one without 37s but still looked like a good day out nonetheless
@@theretrocrowe it was to be fair. First time for me to Kingmoor
Looks a great day would love to go to go to an open day.
Thank you for sharing.
Nice One cheers 🍻
Excellent stuff thank you . Having seen numerous clas 68s in traffic it seems curious how even when the rest of the loco is fairly clean the area on the cab side just above the number is often dirty to the extent that the company name is almost obscured.as on 68033 and others shown here.
@@johncherrington6080 Noticed on a few of the locos what you have mentioned……
Thanks Paul for going and sharing you visit to the open day, was great to see a new name on a loco, but I'm pleased I never went, ATB Mike.
@@antman09ful1 Haven’t been before so wanted to go up on this occasion. All the talk no tractors but time moves on….. bit disappointing no shuttle service from the station to the depot to be honest. Local bus service on hand so used that. Not too expensive £2 for single journey
Nice capture Arthur,t least it was warm and sunny, lovely day.Shame about the Stagecoach service to and from the site, huge queue of people waiting almost an hour for a bus to arrive cor Carlisle, then four appeared at the same time. One of which refused to pick up nd it was empty.
@@jerrydowse5061 yes was there when the lady driver slowed right down in a empty bus and drove off !! I was surprised there wasn’t a shuttle bus in operation considering the distance between the station and the depot, surely they money made would of paid for itself but I’m sure there was a reason behind me it ? In all enjoyable day and weather was good considering the forecast.
Kingmoor looks bigger than Crewe. Pity none of the engines where ticking over.
Yes bigger than Crewe, probably double the size !!
Great video of the open day, but not as good as it used to be. I don't like having to buytickets well in advance... AND no 37s anymore 😢😢😢. Interesting freight at the end.👍
@@philclarke3203 Never been to this open day before so wanted to attend this time around. It was as expected what was on show. Did think the same about the tractors missing but time moves on. Thought a couple of quest loco might have been a good idea. In all good day out 👍
@@arthurgrowler5749 glad you tried it out and had a good day. 😀.I went.. 🤔 must be 6 or 7 years ago . Yes as you say, time moves on, so can't expect past pleasures 😭. And yes a couple of guest locos, would have been appreciated I'm sure.
I went to the Crewe open day a few years back, and the class 20s had just been phased out.
no class 37s ???
Not this year all sold off now
Certainly not like the Open Days of old.
@@SteveSmithRailways thought there might of been a couple of quest engines to top up
