The ambulance would make a great motorhome! It has power outlets and 12v outlets in the back, you could put a stereo or small flat-screen on a mount in that side storage compartment. It looks like a fairly new vehicle still, so there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. Just gut out the back and start from scratch basically

@@charleyhicks6550 Honestly any wrecked car someone could have died in, or multiple people, but people still fix them so. but yeah, ambulances are hard to get by, but that also means that not many people will bid, and the people who do bid, are most likely medical companys, who have a fixed maximum amount of money they can bid on each unit, likely below resale value. but yeah
Ambulance would make a killer mobile mechanics rig! Plenty of room for everything needed and then some!

I've seen them converted into mobile offices before, so the possibilities are definitely endless.
That ambulance would be a great roadside assist or mobile mechanic vehicle. Lots of locked storage for tools and the mechanic can sleep and at an air-conditioned bed after a hard day's work before driving home. Lol
Jeep, it's the control arm bushings. There's 16 of them. A high maintenance item and if you replace them with poly, like I've done, you feel every little bump, it will squeak over time but the steering will be better.
Lots of ambulance conversions into small rvs on UA-cam . They usually make good ones
I know a few people that are mobile diesel mechanics and have bought a used Ambulance to convert them into mobile diesel repair mobile big rig tire repair vehicles... especially with the built in generators and multiple storage compartments.... they will sometimes repaint it to a different color and obviously swap out the "Emergency Light" lens covers

I could hear the exhaust manifold tick on that F-150 upon startup, then after a few seconds it went away. Just standard 5.4 Triton things! Warped manifold has a gap between it and the gasket, as it heats up the gasket expands, creating the seal which makes the tick go away. Same case as our ‘09 F-150 King Ranch.

Hi again Randy! No doubt the ambulance would be great for a conversion project but would it be worth it? You could get it with a plan of finding a small ambulance outfit that would greatly benefit from a donated ambulance 🚑. As you said, these units are incredibly well maintained and still has much life left in it. Good luck with your decision, I’ll be curious to see what happens.
The 5.4 Triton is the 5.4 try again known for blowing the spark plug out on back passenger side
From a business perspective would be great to take along when you go pick up cars outta state, make it a mobile service unit. Complete shop out of the ambulance.
My moms 09 f150 has the 5.4 triton with almost 500k kilometers on it, surprisingly it runs great and I'm so proud of it
My 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche has 469K on it still runs like new
Ambulances make great service vehicles for roadside repairs
The box ambulance is the perfect tow rig. You can put all your tools plus a jack and everything you need to get a car moving and if need be you can sleep back there. That diesel will pull anything well plus it has roof lights to help when you are moving a car at night. Forget your pick up, get this and haul your trailer in comfort.
Even better, convert to a RV and then he wouldn't have to stay in hotels when picking up cars.

The ambulance would be a great RV or a service truck/mobile workshop. But remember, these things aren't pampered. I'm talking full send on a cold engine.

On the 2015 and up Ford F-150 pickups the Whole body is aluminum set for the bulkhead is made out of steel.

For a 2021 Jeep 41,000 miles is a lot of miles in one year, about 3,000 miles a month. Hope they changed the oil every 5k miles and other fluids often

Aluminum body Ford F-150 trucks went aluminum in the 2015 year. I believe 2017 for super duty trucks. If I’m correct, Ford used aluminum hoods, once. I know they used magnesium in some parts but I’m not sure of magnesium body parts.
That ambulance would be awesome to turn into am off grid camper. Quite a lot already done being insulated and having electric outlets, etc. Rip out the cabinets and build kitchen and bed and shower/toilet. Would be great

It's not just the mileage on the ambulance. They also sit and idle for hours at a time.
That's called a stretcher in the back, not a gurney. It's possibly made by Stryker and they are located in Kalamazoo, MI. The body manufacturer is Wheeled Coach and they are located at 2737 Forsyth Road in Winter Park, FL (about 20 minutes outside of Orlando) and part of the REV Group. The REV Group also owns Horton (another Ambulance manufacturer), Ferrara Fire Apparatus, KME Fire Apparatus and other recreational and emergency vehicle brands. Yes, the back has HVAC and a lot of them are resold after the municipalities get rid of them and they are converted into work trucks and other uses.
Yes, the master switch has to be on to power the lights. That's often done so that they don't accidentally get turned on. The mileage is probably why it was sold off.
The ambulance would be a great buy because of the opportunity to turn this vehicle into a RV conversion! The outstanding upgraded quality specs used to build this Ambulance is outstanding! Look at the conversions on UA-cam for examples! Only drawback would be the connecting of the two cabs for a access to and from the truck cab to the living quarters!

The Ford H-D Pickup will likely go for more $$$ then the reasonable amount you want to pay with this crazy market. Don't forget ambulances have a lot of idle time on top of mileage. I looks like this auction was a much higher grade than the ones you usually go to. Few real scrap heaps.
i got 12k at carmax last year for my 2007 with 154k miles on it. NONE supercharged truck

With the ambulance you could take off the lights and sirens and then make it like a rig that carries a whole bunch of tools In the outside compartments.

Hey Randy I thought about this yesterday I say make it a mobile tool unit And get custom stickers made if your Logo also other stickers it can say The AAR MTU so when you go pickup a car you can have the tools tires or whatever you may need, I think it would look cool and change the lights to a different colors
In 08 they had 4.2 Ford engines, 4.3 Ford engines, 5.0 and 5.2 engines. In all types of trucks. They had the Triton as well. I've had one of each.
Ambulance would make a perfect off road rv.... for those campsites that are quiet & secluded.

yes I think you should get the ambulance it could be aar mobile headquarters for when you go out of town and you could store all tools and equipment that you would need for a video
With all of the offgrid living and sprinter type vans being turned into studios you could snag that ambulance, turn the outside into a standard box and build a little camper. It would prob sell fast and for a good price. Kind of like what Goonzquad did with their military truck
Those ambulances are very sought after converting them into mini homes and I must admit that one is in excellent condition

I have heard the issues with the ecodiesel are emissions related and the first generation might actually be better. That 4 turbo should be better then the old jeeps but V6.

Nice.... this lot is not in the mud. As for the ambulance, it would cost more to convert it than buying a camper. It would be great for a fire department with a low budget and maybe all they could afford. It appears to be in good shape.
No from me on the Ambulance. My motto is if the mileage is over 200,000 then the price I'm willing to pay is 1,000 or less. Good luck.
