USSR की भूमिका उस समय भारत को अभयदान देने के समान थी। यह एक अच्छा दोस्त होने का अहसास था। क्या ही अच्छा होता अगर USSR में भी लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था होती... और उस देश के टुकड़े न होते तो आज हमारे USSR के साथ सामाजिक सांस्कृतिक रिश्ते होते। हम बचपन में "सोवियत संघ" नामक पत्रिका जो हिंदी और रूसी भाषा में निकलती थी जो मात्र तीन रुपये में तीन साल के लिए उपलब्ध होती थी... को पढ़ने का अवसर मिला था। युद्व के समय हम स्कूल जाते थे। हमारे देश की पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री श्रीमती इन्दिरा गाँधी के भाषण को हमने रेडियो पर सुना था। जब उन्होंने देश को सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा था " चाहे हमारे हाथ कट जायें, चाहे हमारे पैर कट जायें, लेकिन हमें पीछे नहीं हटना है"। पूर्वी पाकिस्तान को बांग्लादेश के रूप में आजाद करने के लिए बंगबंधू शेख मुजीबुर्रहमान के नेतृत्व में मुक्ति वाहिनी सेना का गठन हुआ था। आप समझ सकते हैं की उस युद्ध में भारत की फौज के सामने एक लाख पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों ने हथियार डाल दिये थे (पाकिस्तान के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति जनरल मुसर्रफ जो उस समय पाक सेना में अधिकारी थे ..वो भी आत्मसमर्पण करने वालों में शामिल थे ) जो एक विश्व रिकॉर्ड है। अमेरिका जैसी महाशक्ति और पाकिस्तान को झुकना पड़ा था।
आज भी श्रीमती इन्दिरा गाँधी और फील्ड मार्शल मानेकशा को याद कर आँखे नम हो जाती हैं।
जय जवान..! जय भारत..! जय भीम..!
अब ये 1971 वाला भारत नहीं है और भविष्य में भारत इतना ताकतवर हो जाएगा कि दुनिया का कोई भी देश भारत के तरफ आंख नहीं उठा सकेगा। हमारे देशवासियों को भी राजनीतिक द्वंद भूला कर देश के विकाश के बारे में एकमत होना चाहिए। जय हिन्द।
