    If I'm not mistaken it was 41 years ago Bill Jenkins drove that car, and it's still whupping ass.

    Yah nothing like the authenticity of a pro stock with a 3 speed automatic transmission. And yes you are mistaken about Bill Jenkins driving that car as he had changed over to a lightweight tube chassis small block Vega because he couldn’t win with the big block Camaro’s. It was the beginning of the death spiral for that class with the unending concessions for the Chevy brand that no other brand could be on equal footing, the ever changing rule book still continues to rewrite the rules to allow cheating only for one brand. The latest example is one team that supplies engines for several Camaro’s in the FS/XX class. They fined the teams for catching them using a bigger pulley on their superchargers that allows them to make more power and then NHRA rewrites the rule at the same race to allow them for them to be used at the next race. Now NHRA acts perplexed because Ford refuses to run in that class any longer and the Dodges are already making big power and were leading the points even though they have to use the Challenger which is bigger, taller and wider than all the other cars racing in that class, don’t expect to see them back next season so NHRA will now have two all Camaro classes because of their own changing of the rule to give Chevy the advantage. The results are drastically less people in the seats at every event.
