- I am putting some serious effort and investment into expanding my sourcing knowledge base, so I'm not so heavily reliant on boot sales to source stock. Today's video is part of my journey in educating myself about auctions.

Nice finds... I agree with you... nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Enjoyed the video. As you know the best thing is to get down to the auction and have a look at the items. The only time I have made any significant money at auction is where they have made mistakes in the listing/missed items in the lots etc. 🕰️😱
The most important thing to bear in mind at auctions, is that you are sometimes up against specialist dealers, and private collectors,,
so having a back ground knowledge is paramount, so do your research, not just ebay comps, but build your self a library of reference books, this knowledge will stay in your mind a lot longer.. Good Luck..
Thank you Mike. I have a desire to learn, so I'll get it sooner or later👍🏻
Enjoyed the lots , Dave 👍👍👍
So spooky, i should probably have watched the whole video before commenting, but youve bought my absolute bread and butter items 😆 The HAC clock, id estimate £40 tops, but again, looking forward to being proved wrong. The fire screen, ive just sold an almost identical one via FB marketplace for £40 so you should be spot on I think
Thanks for another informative video and content
No mayo needed on those nested tables 😀 I love it when I find something that reeks of quality like that briefcase!
love the grind bro. all gotta start somewhere!
I’ve been doing auctions for a decade and now split auction lots into three - the best stuff (camel stool) goes to my antiques centre stall, the items with a wide comp spread go on eBay and the rest goes into the car boot storage shed until I have enough to go booting. The car boot stuff is used as my float to buy more stuff while the wife mans the stall.
So many nice items, you made me laugh regarding the clock chiming and scaring you 😂
I'm not winding the bugger up again lol
@@ABLReselling I love a good tickey tock. I have a grandfather clock 🤣
@@jillybeelivingherlifeherwa3704 You’re clearly braver than me 😂
@@ABLReselling 🤣
Happy birthday, youngish Dave !
Thanks Mike 👍🏻
Dave - from somebody who has bought and sold a lot of high end watches inc many Rolex - getvthe paris clock serviced - THEN sell it - it’ll fetch way more than the spend on the service - which shouldn’t be much at all
Thank you mate. I've made some enquiries on costings.
Great content Dave. Nest of tables could you go for distressed look. Also i love picking up boxes of crap providing the price is good. Cheers 🐒
Thanks Pete.
Belated birthday wishes Dave!
Thank you Hazel.
I’m getting £90 each for them leather stools and the coal scuttles it’s an easy £95-135 bar and I’d agree on the camel stool start high it’s a nice one
Do take awhile to shift but that’s all part of the parcel
Some great items there
Thank you Martin.
Really insightful video, Really good viewing 👍. There's loads of channel's out there that don't show the mistakes or cock ups. We all make them that's a certainty .
People who BS get outed really quickly. Thank you for the support :)
@@ABLReselling :)Your welcome I'd love to sell more electronics i find them frustrating trying to work out all functions etc what works what doesn't.
@@dreamsreselling7215 They can be a pain. Good margin though.
@@ABLReselling Yeah good money in them for sure . Il just have to focus a few hours in getting the few bits i have tested and listed all an education and experience isn't it .
Late Happy Birthday!
Thank you 😃
I normally deal in clocks, and for my money, the Anniversary clock was a better buy. Whats not working on it? If you can find a make and you get it running, you should be nudging 3 figures. Even for spares with a good dome you shouls be around the £60 Mark. The carriage clock IMO isnt that exciting. The expensive ones are "repeaters" which chime. Yours id expect closer to the £100 mark but I may be proved wrong 😁 also.. If the carriage clock is running and keeping good time, i wouldn't bother servicing it unless you have a local hobbyist that will do it cheaply. Servicing is surprisingly expensive and if the clock is running ok, i doubt youd cover the cost.
Excellent info. Thank you.
The anniversary clock was half wound, but it isn’t doing anything at all.
@@ABLReselling That's quite unusual as unless they're obviously broken, they're normally quite reliable. Make sure the spinning pendulum is sitting centrally and not touching the edge of the hole it's sitting in. there should be screw feet underneath to level clock to ensure the pendulum hangs centrally. If it spins for a few minutes then stops, it may need a service. Worth checking if it winds fully - if you haven't got a key they're really cheap to get gold of and knowing the condition of the main spring will make a difference to the value. If you're not sure what size key to get, you can get skeleton / multi clock keys - well worth having one if you're going to get clocks in the future. If you really can't get it going, look closely for any kind of makers mark on the back of the mechanism. I'd personally have a go at an auction starting at £70 it it's a non-runner and seeing what happens
Much obliged.
Tickles your taste buds?Dave!Dave!Dave!Licking coal scuttles isn't hygienic!🤣🤣🤣
Oh the euphemisms 😂😂😂
Steady now lol
A double florin? Is that 4bob/20p? I’ve never heard of a double florin and I sadly remember the “old money!”
It’s from 1889 to be fair 😄
4 shillings maybe.
It’s solid 925 silver anyway.
Just a quick heads up, most of your amazon links don't link to the products!
Thank you Mark. It’s been a while since I checked them.
