This song is AWESOME! Very well done! For those interested in the Simpsons episodes referenced, here's what I was able to tie: “Everything’s coming up Milhouse” - S10E19 “Mom and Pop Art” and S22E20 “Homer Scissorhands” “but Lisa still passes him by” - most prominently called out in S08E07 “Lisa’s Date with Density” “but his flood pants can’t keep his eyes dry” - S10E19 “Mom and Pop Art” “He gives Nelson Lisa’s letter” (and next line) - S08E07 “Lisa’s Date with Density” “Isn’t that what a big sister is for?” - S08E07 “Lisa’s Date with Density” “Don’t forget class is dismissed at the end” - S07E23 “Summer of 4 Ft. 2” “and don’t lend your glasses to your best friend” - possibly S07E23 “Summer of 4 Ft. 2” where Bart uses Milhouse’s glasses as binoculars, and doesn’t give them back, causing a blind Milhouse to pet a horseshoe crab thinking it’s a dog “He’ll copy your earring” - S09E19 “Simpson Tide” “He’ll sell you his soul” - S07E04 “Bart Sells His Soul” “He’ll lie about your goldfish” (and next line) - S08E20 “The Canine Mutiny” “Milhouse, lower your eyebrows” (and next line) - S10E01 “Lard of the Dance” “Lisa knows there’s nothing funny ‘bout the word ‘tromboner’” - S08E07 “Lisa’s Date with Density” “You could be Ol’ Gil’s house” - Gil is introduced S09E09 “Realty Bites” “as dry as your dad’s cracker factory” - the cracker factory is first mentioned S06E15 “Homie the Clown” “Life’s given you lemons” (and the rest) - S06E24 “Lemon of Troy”
If someone told me there could be a song comprised almost solely of Milhouse quotes/references, I might have believed them. But I never would have thought it would be so hauntingly beautiful. That was amazing. Glad I clicked that twitter link.
This is one of the many reasons why I listen to Podcast Beyond, because every now and then they introduce me to something cool like this. Nice one cossbysweater!
I am very glad that I clicked on this link. This is hauntingly beautiful and full of such unexpected complexity for a song about a Simpsons secondary character. I keep playing it over and over. Thank you.
My first comment on this video is from 10 years ago. Somebody said the phrase "everything's coming up Milhouse" & my mind was instantly transported to this song for some reason & had to share it. I hope all has been well.
Kinda Funny's Greg Miller brought me here a few years ago after one auspicious Podcast Beyond segment named Ryan's Wrap-Up had this as a closing song. I've been a fan and subscriber ever since.
Get this... I saw this for the first time ever today, not on UA-cam but on a video screen in the Detroit airport. Just amazing that someone even thought to create this and can do it with such solumnness.
Found this through the Huffington Post today and I am so glad. You ladies sound so beautiful together, I can't wait to hear what the future holds for your musical exploration. Keep up the great work.
This literally couldn't be better, great voices, great lyrics that bring back memories from The Simpson when it was at its best. Can't stop listening, thanks to Beyond for introducing me to this song and thanks to these girls for creating it, cheers XD
This is gorgeous, you ladies are very talented. Would love to see ya'll get big! The harmony is perfect; and the songwriting is exceptional, especially considering the content. Idk if I have ever heard cartoons, fictional characters, etc. expressed so humanly through music. BEAUTIFUL!
I totally agree, Adam. Allie, Megan, you started out great, and I think you just keep getting better. This is a great example of a song that's well thought out, sad, funny, and sweet all at once. I love it.
Had this song stuck in my head for over an hour now, so listened again. Incredible voices, (obviously) catchy tune, and I thoroughly approve of made-up words. Very, very well done, ladies.
I really hope the guys over at Fox working on this show see this video somewhere. This song is already caught in my brain, and the lyrics show excellent Simpsons IQ. Great work!
This is a great, great song. Granted I've never heard your music before I saw the video posted on IGN but either way I'm glad my curiosity was piqued enough to click it. And of course the very first 30 seconds is more than enough to lock someone into it enough to want to hear the whole thing through. Plus, I like the subtleties. Like how you raised the pitch of your voice at about 0:16, and how it was calm at 0:36 and sped up at 0:43 - it really added that little something extra. Keep it up.
Both of you have the sweetest voices I have ever heard, sincerely. It mentally brings me to my knees, while physically bringing me to my knees. I am kneeling uncontrollably.
Wellllllllll DONE!!! A beautiful song performed by 2 young beautiful women about a boy who re-discovered ALF...in pog form!!! Kudos to you both for such a great song. If it was recorded to a 7" single, I'd purchase it IMMEDIATELY!!!!
The dearest CossbySweater, thank you soo much for this song!!! He was always an under-rated character and the Ol' Gil reference was amazing. A truly beautiful and well crafted song. Thank you once again.
Aww I love how they say thank you at the end, that was priceless. You two are both incredibly talented and I think that if you entered a talent competition they wouldn't find it hard to win.
This is amazing! I am a life-long, die-hard, ultimate Simpsons fan and the many references are so clever. Plus I have a puppy named Milhouse (he is the best Simpsons character after all) so this is basically the best song ever. Thank you so much for making it! Beautiful voices too. :)
Beyond! Man I love your bands name!!! That was the first reference I ever looked up on urban dictionary! You ladies are wonderfully talented can't wait to listen to more of your stuff.
"You are tearing me apart, Lisa!" - Milhouse Van Houten
+Tommy Jizzeau I laughed so hard at this comment!
That's the idea :)
Remember Milhouse? He's back! (In song form.)
Love the lyrics, music, and performance. Fantastic work!
I didn't expect much from a song about Milhouse, but now I'm in tears.
Thank you.
The power of art.
I’m tears rn too
Right? Wtf, ladies? Is this even real?
@@chrisbflory it is not. The Simpsons is a work of fiction and any resemblance to reality is mere coincidence
10 years later, I'm still listening. I hope life has treated you well.
Then why did I have the bowl Bart ? Why did I have the bowl ? Lol
This 9yr old comment just made my day
How have I managed to miss this for the last decade‽ This is awesome!

If someone told me there could be a song comprised almost solely of Milhouse quotes/references, I might have believed them. But I never would have thought it would be so hauntingly beautiful. That was amazing. Glad I clicked that twitter link.

This is So good. It's both musically a great song and so well done lyrically. I just don't even know what to say.
"Trust me, Bart. It's better you walk in on both parents than to walk in on just one."
Love the vid!
I love to see friends like this, doing fun things together.

This is fantastic. In anyone else's hands, a song like this would be a straight comedy. But with you two, it's amazingly profound and heartfelt.

I think I'm in love.
I saw her first.
"Everything is coming up Milhouse" was my dad's favorite quote when we had small victories....but big for us. I miss his optimism.
Poor old Milhouse. I will always think of him as THRILLHOUSE!!!!
SockPuppet89 think you mean THRILLHO.
love this song so much.
Or Milpool
Brilliant, harmony of the voice in contrast to the melancholic nature of the lyrics is just perfect.
T H R I L L H O approves
I'm not even sure how to comment on this properly. This is the best thing I have seen on the internet in months. I'm...stunned.

Incredible voices, (obviously) catchy tune, and I thoroughly approve of made-up words.
Very, very well done, ladies.
Someone linked me to her. I listened. Asked if I could use her on the show.
i like can not deal with the perfection of this
ugh god this is the best thing i have ever heard--BRAVO!
This was the best song I've ever heard on the subject of an animated secondary character. You referenced so many things. I loved it.
I really hope the guys over at Fox working on this show see this video somewhere. This song is already caught in my brain, and the lyrics show excellent Simpsons IQ. Great work!
I admit I did search everything's coming up Millhouse, but this is the last thing I expected. This is why I love youtube
