Diana the first royal ladie to take her babie with on the tours. It shows how much love and care she had towards her husband and little boy. Diana loved children. Yeah, the show is very negative with regard to Diana, making her seem dumb and helpless.
I think it's more likely that it just happened to be raining on the day they shot that scene. The writers and producers would certainly agree that it looks more dramatic but it was probably coincidental.

@@samn7974 they are a strange bunch. they want their family to help with the work load yet they get upset if anyone is popular or they feel someone overshadows them. they need to make up their minds, can't have it both ways. i couldn't imagine walking the tightrope in that family.
