    Good to hear this as I've just stared incorporating tempo into my week, I try to do 2x30m intervals and I find these hard enough that I need to concentrate but not hard enough that I'm going to blow up, I think this will be more beneficial for my Audax length rides where fatigue plays a big part.

    Great info - thank you. I use a heart rate monitor for training. At what heart rate percentage do you consider “tempo”?
    My max heart rate (last week) is 157. My anaerobic threshold is (and has been for years) is 148. Any help or opinions much appreciated.

      a very general guide is Z2 60-70%, z3 70-80, z4 80-90, 90+ Is vo2max and beyond. Good luck Chuck!
