Before I even watch this vid I want to say a big thankyou for your efforts. I've been strumming the same old chords for 20 years and think you are an excellent teacher. Personally, all the questions I have struggled with over the years are answered in your many superb lessons. My playing has improved rapidly since I happened upon your channel.

Best guitar lessons on youtube. People really don’t realize how great these vids are, I went to college for the same teaching style and you’re here doing it for free for the greater good of music. Anyways I respect what you do and you keep my knowledge growing. This was a fantastic lesson for me for suspened chords! And on top of that the use of them with dominant chords wow thanks man ! Been wondering about the theory behind this for awhile much love

It's awesome I agree. I wish Andrew had more views. Post these videos on FaceBook pages guys, let's get Andrew out to a much larger audience! He deserves triple the views he's getting now. Amazing lessons and music.

For the jazz guitar enthusiast, look up Pat Martino. He takes the same melodic approach for most 7th chord analysis.. Pat often times, jumps up a fifth from min/maj/dom7th chords and runs the minor pent or arppegio against it.. sounds great. Another to check out is Ted Green, Chord Chemistry and Modern Chord Progressions awesome source as well. Great lesson. Aloha

Yes. The octave matters. It's the same note, just an octave above. To my ear, extended chords have more 'sparkle' to them because of the notes that reside beyond the octave.

I am in the midst of getting my first guitar effects pedal. Do you have any post on that topic? Many thanks for the great videos.

I would like to add my endorsement to Ted Green's book 'Chord Chemistry', seriously is one of the best books I have ever bought for guitar theory, and the information in there will take months, if not years to completely absorb.

    Suspended chord doesn't have a third in it, so no, sus2 isn't a 9th
