I’ve been a diehard Wings fan my whole life and I can confidently say that Chicago’s logo is one of, if not the best in all of sports. Also, the team has come out in support of Native’s and has done work to raise awareness for those cultures. I love Bardown, but this wasn’t the move.
When that logo was created the blackhawks (people it’s based on) were in support of it. The only people who aren’t in support are money hungry people who have nothing to do with the logo.
I'm Australian, I started following hockey in late 2018 after watching a biggest hits and shootout highlight reel. When it came to picking a team I literally picked the redwings because their logo looked the best (and because I saw a lot of datsyuk highlights). I soon realised I had picked then right at the bottom. But I've stuck with them ever since and now I am fully trusting the yzerplan.

The Blackhawks name is not named after the tribe, but a WW1 division- the Blackhawk division- that the owner fought in. The division itself is named after a Sauk Chief named Black Hawk. The team’s name was for a long time, two words (Black Hawks) but later changed after documents were found with the original name as only one word. And considering the team has gone to great lengths to go to insure that the logo is as inoffensive as possible, talking to local Indigenous leaders to create a logo that commemorates and treats indigenous peoples with the respect they deserve, I don’t really understand why the hawks are being put on the same level as Cleveland or Washington.
If this list was done a year ago or hell 6 months ago, we all know the Blackhawks logo would be near the top, so don't act like you're all of sudden against it.

One thing we should also consider is the Blackhawk tribe themselves. As a blackhawks fan and friend to a family of Blackhawk Native Americans- I can tell you that a large majority of the tribe loves the name and logo..- From what I’m told anyway. But there are still some who don’t like like it. I am OK with it being changed and I think it will be someday. I completely understand why people find it offensive. But again this should be up to the Blackhawk tribe. It’s okay they don’t include it - but please include CHI in alternate logos.

Based on aesthetics, *off* a jersey, I think Chicago, Detroit, Colorado, Minnesota, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Arizona (as the Kachina), Toronto, Vegas, and Seattle all look good. *On* a jersey, the Habs, Isles, Sabs, and Caps look good. Some of the teams have different variants of their logos that look better, and can very from a simple color change to a complete color change. For example: Vancouver's logo looks way better when the bottom half of the C is white, and as a complete color change, Edmonton's two-tone alt. is great.
Duck fans would love to bring back the old logo. The new colors/logo were cool when we first adopted the change but they haven't aged well compared to the OG logo.

He had a lot of accomplishments like fighting against the British…. If you’re accusing people of not knowing the history you should probably do some homework too.
I have no problem with the team keeping the Blackhawks name, as others have said, its based on the original owners WW1 division name, which was named after a well known Chief from the Illinois area. That being said, the logo is a goofy caricature of an Native American and I understand why some consider it offensive. If Blackhawks is for a WW1 division anyways, why not switch the logo to the awesome one that looks like a hawks head with the same colour scheme someone designed a few years ago? It looks awesome, and isn't offending anyone.

Most other logos except the wild have at most three colours. I showed each logo to my GF (who knows nothing about NHL) and she thought the Coyotes was the best, then Penguins and Sharks. Take that to mean she likes animals but she did not like the Hawks logo.

All of the detail in the current Maple Leafs logo has a meaning behind it. The Logo has 31 points as a nod to when the Maple Leaf Gardens' opened in 1931. My personal critiques and what I would change. The Devils and the Flames logos should be elevated to the best -- especially when you look at the sketch of the Jersey Devil. Boston, Buffalo, Rangers, and St. Louis should be elevated to A tier. Flyers should move to B tier -- I was quite surprised when I realized that was a "P".
It doesn't. Indigenous people have historically come forward saying the logo is offensive. There are ways to honor Indigenous cultures without turning their people into a tokenised mascot.

The senator's logo is a combination of a Roman centurion (general) and a Spartan shield design. Neither are "senator" iconography but totally understand why they chose to go this route
Jesse is 100% correct with his take on the Rangers. It's a D at best. If it's so iconic, how come they don't use it on any jersey, not even as a shoulder patch? It is no way at the same level as Buffalo or St. Louis, not even close. Also, the Oilers logo is worse than a C. People might think it's iconic because Gretzky and Messier and company won a lot of cups wearing it, but essentially the logo is a bright orange raindrop with the team name stretched out to fit into a circle. It's mediocre. On the other hand, the Houston Oilers had a cool logo. If Edmonton decided to make an oil rig style logo and incorporated an E and some hockey sticks into it that would be so much better than their current logo. I would switch the Oilers and Stars, and I would also switch the Predators and the Flyers, and maybe bump down the Leafs logo. Otherwise, it's a pretty good list.

As a Kings fan, I can't argue. Kings have alot of sicker older logos/style. The chevron, OG crown, Purple and black crown, Hell i'll take the Burger King logo too! Just comparing old jerseys and the colors we use to use, our current home jerseys are dull. My interpretation is that the Shield is for the fans to wear, we defend the city as the Kings play for us, either way, no way higher than a C at best.

A few things I want to say. First as a Kraken fan, I loved the logo when it was introduced but now, it’s more of a B the more I look at it. Second, the Capitals have the worst logo IMO. It’s just words. What the heck is that suppose to represent. The Screaming Eagle in the Red, White and Blue is absolutely gorgeous and it should be their primary logo! I think the Caps should get rid of the current logo. I like the Screaming Eagle as the RR logo and it would be a very good secondary but I think the current secondary logo (the eagle with the capital building as the negative space) should be the primary.

The North Stars had a great logo back in the day.. but my favorite one was the Whalers. Perfection.

I'm Australian, I started following hockey in late 2018 after watching a biggest hits and shootout highlight reel. When it came to picking a team I literally picked the redwings because their logo looked the best (and because I saw a lot of datsyuk highlights). I soon realised I had picked then right at the bottom. But I've stuck with them ever since and now I am fully trusting the yzerplan.

The Blackhawks name is not named after the tribe, but a WW1 division- the Blackhawk division- that the owner fought in. The division itself is named after a Sauk Chief named Black Hawk. The team’s name was for a long time, two words (Black Hawks) but later changed after documents were found with the original name as only one word. And considering the team has gone to great lengths to go to insure that the logo is as inoffensive as possible, talking to local Indigenous leaders to create a logo that commemorates and treats indigenous peoples with the respect they deserve, I don’t really understand why the hawks are being put on the same level as Cleveland or Washington.
If this list was done a year ago or hell 6 months ago, we all know the Blackhawks logo would be near the top, so don't act like you're all of sudden against it.

One thing we should also consider is the Blackhawk tribe themselves. As a blackhawks fan and friend to a family of Blackhawk Native Americans- I can tell you that a large majority of the tribe loves the name and logo..- From what I’m told anyway. But there are still some who don’t like like it. I am OK with it being changed and I think it will be someday. I completely understand why people find it offensive. But again this should be up to the Blackhawk tribe. It’s okay they don’t include it - but please include CHI in alternate logos.

Based on aesthetics, *off* a jersey, I think Chicago, Detroit, Colorado, Minnesota, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Arizona (as the Kachina), Toronto, Vegas, and Seattle all look good. *On* a jersey, the Habs, Isles, Sabs, and Caps look good. Some of the teams have different variants of their logos that look better, and can very from a simple color change to a complete color change. For example: Vancouver's logo looks way better when the bottom half of the C is white, and as a complete color change, Edmonton's two-tone alt. is great.

I have no problem with the team keeping the Blackhawks name, as others have said, its based on the original owners WW1 division name, which was named after a well known Chief from the Illinois area. That being said, the logo is a goofy caricature of an Native American and I understand why some consider it offensive. If Blackhawks is for a WW1 division anyways, why not switch the logo to the awesome one that looks like a hawks head with the same colour scheme someone designed a few years ago? Take that to mean she likes animals but she did not like the Hawks logo.

It also has 17 veins to represent the founding of the franchise in 1917, & 13 of those veins are at the top of the crest to commemorate the Maple Leafs 13 Stanley Cup wins. The Devils and the Flames logos should be elevated to the best -- especially when you look at the sketch of the Jersey Devil.
Boston, Buffalo, Rangers, and St. Louis should be elevated to A tier.

I don’t know if it’s TSN themselves thinking the Blackhawks logo is racist or if they’re just afraid of Twitter but this is ridiculous. I don’t think any hockey content creators should pretend they don’t exist just for fear of others reactions. They’re a valid and successful team and if you do you’re research you might actually appreciate the things they’ve done. It’s time to nut up and stop rolling over just for a few whiny ignorant people.
The canes logo is weird because I never imagine it on a jersey, mostly because the never wear it. I just think of it as center ice, the hurricane warning flags though are sick, and every time I’ve been to a game in the past 5 years they just where that logo.
So the Blackhawks just don’t have a logo or did I miss something

It’s not, people who don’t understand what it is are butt hurt by it. The blackhawks themselves were in favour of the logo when it was created, the only people who want it gone are money hungry people who have nothing to do with it.

As a Chicago fan, the issue is just using a group of people as a mascot. I think it would make sense for them to change their logo. It’s an awesome logo, top 3 in the league BUT i think changing it make sense.

The senator's logo is a combination of a Roman centurion (general) and a Spartan shield design. Neither are "senator" iconography but totally understand why they chose to go this route

Jesse is 100% correct with his take on the Rangers. It's a D at best. If it's so iconic, how come they don't use it on any jersey, not even as a shoulder patch? It is no way at the same level as Buffalo or St. Louis, not even close.
Also, the Oilers logo is worse than a C. People might think it's iconic because Gretzky and Messier and company won a lot of cups wearing it, but essentially the logo is a bright orange raindrop with the team name stretched out to fit into a circle. It's mediocre. On the other hand, the Houston Oilers had a cool logo. If Edmonton decided to make an oil rig style logo and incorporated an E and some hockey sticks into it that would be so much better than their current logo. I would switch the Oilers and Stars, and I would also switch the Predators and the Flyers, and maybe bump down the Leafs logo. Otherwise, it's a pretty good list.
As an Native American who realizes that the Hawks logo isn’t a caricature of my people but instead is an actual person I am completely disgusted. It doesn’t even feel like a genuine sign of respect on their behalf but feels more like (already) tone deaf White people trying to overcompensate and do something unnecessary before cancel culture calls the community out on it. This video feels more like an experiment to see if people would hold their feet to the fire for having the logo in this tier list. As a Kings fan, I can't argue. Kings have alot of sicker older logos/style. The chevron, OG crown, Purple and black crown, Hell i'll take the Burger King logo too! Just comparing old jerseys and the colors we use to use, our current home jerseys are dull. My interpretation is that the Shield is for the fans to wear, we defend the city as the Kings play for us, either way, no way higher than a C at best.

A few things I want to say. First as a Kraken fan, I loved the logo when it was introduced but now, it’s more of a B the more I look at it. Second, the Capitals have the worst logo IMO. It’s just words. What the heck is that suppose to represent. The Screaming Eagle in the Red, White and Blue is absolutely gorgeous and it should be their primary logo! And third and most important of all, while I hate Chicago sports, that Blackhawks logo is so iconic and it represents so much that that city stands for. If you look into the history of the logo, it’s truly fascinating and honorable! (Though I would put it in a C cause it gives me flashbacks to 2015…) but, Bardown, I’m very disappointed in you.
I think the Caps should get rid of the current logo. I like the Screaming Eagle as the RR logo and it would be a very good secondary but I think the current secondary logo (the eagle with the capital building as the negative space) should be the primary.

The Chicago Blackhawks have hands down the nicest logo in all of Sports. Criminal you did not put it on here. "BarDown is not in favour of Chicago’s current logo, therefore Chicago’s logo was not included in this video." is false-wokeness. The logo honors not shames.
The Canadiens logo is hockey. That logo can never change. It’s simple but excellent. It’s an A. The Bruins and Rangers are both C’s. Nothing special. The Islanders logo is sweet with the Y used as a hockey stick.. something deliciously retro about it. Calgary is good… the Wild, Sabres, Oilers, Leafs, Wings, Blackhawks are all A’s. The North Stars had a great logo back in the day.. but my favorite one was the Whalers. Perfection.
