I was obsessed with this musical like two years ago and I noticed Andy as Billy but I didn’t know who he was at that point and not I’ve basically fallen in love with his voice and I was rewatching this and my brain just failed. Completely forgot he was in this.
I realize that after i found their version of this song after watching Riverdale's rendition! To think the original broadway Anastasia and Dmitry also work on this is awesome
Might be because they were beating on Carrie for so long that nobody could remember a time when they didn't take daily potshots at her. So the idea of treating her as an equal and apologizing really never occurred to them
If Chris hadn’t been so mean the prom disaster wouldn’t of happened. Carrie wouldn’t of died at the end either. Everything that happened was all Chris’s fault.
I read the book and they explained that when they were voting for the King and Queen Carrie pricked her finger and when she saw the blood she became uncomfortable. Moments later Chris was pulling the trigger that would drop the buckets of blood. In the musical she might not of pulled the trigger but she did kill the pig and recruited Norma to help her with the prank, she planned the prank. It was her idea therefore it was her fault. The blood triggered trauma in Carrie’s mind and she exploded, but nothing would’ve been triggered if Chris had just left Carrie alone.
None of it was Carrie’s fault is all I’m saying and I rewrote the script by hand to prove that and to give Chris, Billy, and Norma what they deserved. In my version Sue and Carrie stuck together and when the buckets fell Sue jumped up onstage and shielded Carrie’s body with hers, taking most of the heat. However I tried to keep it as close to the original script as I could so there had to be some destruction. So, I still had some fall on Carrie to the point where she freaked out, but by the end she only killed her mom, Chris, and Billy, and they shoved Norma in jail. Then I wrote a sequel with songs that I wrote. That one is about what they did after High School. After a killer debrief scene with Norma at the end of the first one they join the FBI in the sequel.
Talia Zimmaro OMG NOOOOOOO 😭 This was actually originally a Broadway musical made in 1988 but this version here in the video is the 2012 off broadway revival
I’m pretty sure the guy on the recording was Ben Thompson (who is in this video singing backup) and I personally am a bigger fan of him as Billy than Andy. Idk maybe I’m biased but I just like Ben’s voice better!
Lexi Cannan Andy mientus is also a really amazing singer. It might have just been the video. He’s been in spring awakening, les mis, smash and he’s really great there
Lucelle I’m assuming you’re from Riverdale, so I’m going to be gentle lol. She wasn’t yelling. Please leave me one time mark in the video where she yelled.
Lucy-Lou you’re one of those little mainstreams coming from Riverdale aren’t you? Well let me give you a lesson, if her voice wasn’t straining as she hit higher notes then she was yelling. In fact Cami (the girl from Riverdale) WAS yelling but it’s harder to tell because of her AUTOTUNE. So no she was NOT yelling, take a lesson in professional performance, and NO I DONT mean Camilla 🙄
Musical.ly_princess_ lol wow we’ve had this interaction before. Broadway is the real deal. No auto tune unlike your television show. Broadway is live 8 shows a week.
Musical.ly_princess_ lol OH MY UGH GET OUT ya little mainstream 🙄 RIVERDALE did NOT do this better, Cami was yelling the song, you can tell because as the notes get higher her voice strains. Even then, RIVERDALE WAS AUTOTUNED. I love riverdale but I hate that they made that stupid musical episode 🙄
When Billy sung the lyric "Too Damn Bad" I was just like O_O DAMN BILLY
3:13 for the too damn bad
another cool thing, at the end when she sings "nobody dies from a scar" scar is one letter off car and she died in a car crash hjkjkh
Wait. Who died?
Josephine Bray everyone. (unless you mean in real life, then probably nobody)
@@haleym.6997 lol. I thought one of the actresses actually died. I was so confused.
Josephine Bray she’s referring to the movie and book where Chris and Billy are killed by Carrie when they attempt to run her over
So did Princess Diana, who she’s playing in 2020-2021
2:20 Christy had her timing off a little, that’s why she had to speed it up a little bit for anyone wondering
T O O D A M N B A D
OH MY GOD
I WANT TO PLAY CHRIS SOOO BAD
Baily Hill sameee here in 2020 lmao
Honsly same
Same if they ever do it at my school I will play Chris I hope

Keira K lOVE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE 😤
Looks like Carrie took the advice of Chris's Dad in the end lol.
true - never thought of that before:)
🎵...Better to *burn* than get burned...🎵
@@toni_verso can’t say Chris didn’t deserve it
ok can we talk about JEANNA. like who is this women and how have I never heard of her 🙌👏👏👏💗💗💕💘
At first I wasn't sure about Andy being Billy, but after that "Too Damn Bad" I was like... nevermind. He's good.
Doggyfroggy2001 do you mean being billy the girl is Chris
Sam *Billy Lol
billy-
Yeah i meant Billy, i remember i wrote this at 3 am
Andy and Derek is one video! My life is made.
I am the billionth person to say it... But Andy and "Too damn bad."
I was obsessed with this musical like two years ago and I noticed Andy as Billy but I didn’t know who he was at that point and not I’ve basically fallen in love with his voice and I was rewatching this and my brain just failed. Completely forgot he was in this.
Andy as Billy is sooo good!! #TOODAMNBAD 😍
Andy who?
@@michellebrodeur3880 Andy Mientus
I would die for Andy Mientus
3:07 (in case y’all wanna just repeat That part over and over again, like I did)
my ears are blessed especially thanks to billy
Veronica is shook😂😂
Tyrone Randall This is raw talent, shook indeed
Anya & Dmitri 💓💓💓
Cannot get over that Andy Mientus was in this show! 😂😂
I LOVE ANDY MIENTUS AS BILLY (AND JUST IN GENERAL) ALSO CHRISTY AND DEREK!!
My favorite song from the musical Carrie 💜🎶🎤
He's so much better than the Billy on the cast recording wtf
I realize that after i found their version of this song after watching Riverdale's rendition! To think the original broadway Anastasia and Dmitry also work on this is awesome
ANDY AS BILLY
Derek’s head os shaved because of Dogfight 😂
The World before Jeanna was Princess Diana
Jeanna is amazing
How dumb is Sue, to have never thought before about apologising before Tommy said that? HOW THAT CAN BE GENIOUS?
Raul Marchiori omg I thought the same thing
that part is kinda ridiculous, but in some productions Sue says it sarcastically, and Idk if it’s better or worse that way
Might be because they were beating on Carrie for so long that nobody could remember a time when they didn't take daily potshots at her. So the idea of treating her as an equal and apologizing really never occurred to them
In some productions they change it to her saying "Oh my god, I'm an idiot!". I think that makes way more sense.
Thanks for sharing!!! I loooove Carrie!! And Derek Klena
I love Andy Mientus
F. and Andy are so cute oh my god
Jeanne is so gorgeous 😍
Thank you for sharing these...I'm obsessed with Carrie!
chris is my dream role
THAT TOO DAMN BAD THOUGH
Tommy's great
WOW IM IN LOVE WITH ANDY MIENTUS AND DEREK KLENA BUT IM A LESBIAN I SWEAR
my type is every girl in the world and derek klena
And this is the video where I am reminded that Andy and Christy went out before he got with Michael
and the other actor that has do billy in the musical
Closest thing I'll get to seeing Anastasia lol
Sue missed her que be that queen saved it!
The ensemble was very off key in the “oooh yeah”
when? I cant find it
1:59 oof voice crack😂
Yeah Billy at the beginning is like:go boy, give us nothing. And then the “too damn bad” 👁👄👁
Is it weird, that I feel like both actresses would have vibed even more with the role of the other one? It's a great performance though :D
I LOVE THE IRONY TEEEHE
If Chris hadn’t been so mean the prom disaster wouldn’t of happened. Carrie wouldn’t of died at the end either. Everything that happened was all Chris’s fault.
No it was definitely all the people around Carrie
I read the book and they explained that when they were voting for the King and Queen Carrie pricked her finger and when she saw the blood she became uncomfortable. Moments later Chris was pulling the trigger that would drop the buckets of blood. In the musical she might not of pulled the trigger but she did kill the pig and recruited Norma to help her with the prank, she planned the prank. It was her idea therefore it was her fault. The blood triggered trauma in Carrie’s mind and she exploded, but nothing would’ve been triggered if Chris had just left Carrie alone.
*recruited Norma and Billy
Well she got her karma
None of it was Carrie’s fault is all I’m saying and I rewrote the script by hand to prove that and to give Chris, Billy, and Norma what they deserved. In my version Sue and Carrie stuck together and when the buckets fell Sue jumped up onstage and shielded Carrie’s body with hers, taking most of the heat. Was this off broadway or broadway?
Janine L off
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAANDYYYYY
KYLE
Real quick, anyone noticed they are singing in a barnes and noble 😂😂
0:38, 1:04, 3:08
I didn't even know this was a real musical 🤦♀️ I saw it on RiverDale and just thought it was made for the show.
Talia Zimmaro OMG NOOOOOOO 😭 This was actually originally a Broadway musical made in 1988 but this version here in the video is the 2012 off broadway revival
So Diana Spencer was actually a Daddy's girl......
Honestly the guy on the recording is better than this guy for billy. I rlly dnt like him tbh.
Max Needs A Life He was sort of... high-looking?
I’m pretty sure the guy on the recording was Ben Thompson (who is in this video singing backup) and I personally am a bigger fan of him as Billy than Andy. Idk maybe I’m biased but I just like Ben’s voice better!
Both guys were off-key. I think most of the guys stink in this show.
SgtTravisBickle he wasnt off key but ok
The guy parts in this show are pretty one-dimensional. Tommy is generic good guy, Billy is generic bad guy.
Sure, but they more than make up for that with the fantastic multidimensional female characters, which are such a rarity in most forms of media.
SgtTravisBickle I think the parts they were playing weren’t great, but Derek is AMAZING, I’ll agree that the guy playing Billy wasn’t great
Lexi Cannan Andy mientus is also a really amazing singer. It might have just been the video. He’s been in spring awakening, les mis, smash and he’s really great there
Unpopular opinion; the “too damn bad” was shouty and pitchy
She was just yelling the song 😑
Lucelle true though and that’s the sad thing
Lucelle I’m assuming you’re from Riverdale, so I’m going to be gentle lol.
She wasn’t yelling. Please leave me one time mark in the video where she yelled.
Lucy-Lou you’re from riverdale aren’t you

In fact Cami (the girl from Riverdale) WAS yelling but it’s harder to tell because of her AUTOTUNE. So no she was NOT yelling, take a lesson in professional performance, and NO I DONT mean Camilla 🙄
I think it gives the song energy-it’s supposed to be a party scene and Chris is drunk and triggered haha
Billy's such a bad singer
K Russell 1. Billy is actually supposed to be a bad singer 2. 3:13 3. He’s actually the best billy
And I think he’s an understudy (he was in the ensemble in the show but idk why he’s performing here)
It's just this video. Look up Andy Mientus and you'll see he's actually pretty great.
Why can't they sing the riverdale version of this is better
Because this is from 2012? And correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Riverdale from 2015/16?
Musical.ly_princess_ lol You’re so ignorant... musicals are extremely hard to sing and the Riverdale cast *did not* have what it takes.
Kay_ Carlsin And it’s VERY hard on your voice to do that
Andy is so amazing
