  • When a person experiences trauma, it can lead them to dissociate-mentally or emotionally disconnect from those events-in order to survive, cope, or function as life demands. In this video, Dr. Weiss explores the connection between betrayal trauma and dissociation, sharing insights from his extensive experience of counseling couples over the years. Learn about the reasons behind why people use this coping mechanism and how they can truly recover in life.

The hardest thing for me is fighting the intrusive thoughts the mental
Images of what I read and saw from the years of his betrayal. Every day I bring it to god because I see his work to do the best he can to be with me and his regrets. But then there is his lack of honesty. He denies a lot of things. But looking at my husband at times is hard

This is so painful. Ive done classes on my recovery. I have a tribe of women that helps each other with knowledge and understanding. Yet i still feel so broken. The choices the love affairs the sexting n live video sex the prostitutes. I have HPV which turned to cervical cancer. I was clean in 2011 as i donated a kidney which they couldnt have done had i not been. The denial the gaslighting the blaming me. Ive tried for years to talk to him begged him to love me. I got to the point that he blamed me for his ED (porn induced). I did end of life care for my sister and my dad when i discovered what he was doing. It really got bad with him as my family was dying and are now gone. Everything is so different now. So my question is How do i kicked out of this depression i find no enjoyment in nothing i mean nothing. I dont want to die like this. Im scared and feel so broken.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Cry out to God and I know when we're depressed we feel like we can't even pray. God knows this, but just cry to him and ask him for a hug. He will and you'll feel it. God is close to the brokenhearted.

@@janetsadeghi1501 Thank you I try to talk to him daily hourly min by min some days. It's been a tough life and doing parts work is where I think my answers will be. My own trauma keeping me stuck. The flashbacks triggers and memories mock me. Thank you for the reminder.

@@anonymous-zt9xw Thank you I've put that off as I was scared to meditate because of my altered state of mind. But I will give it a go.

@@daphnemcmullen1972 yeah, fear is common in initial stage . My whole body used to shake with anxiety but now I'm doing good . I also wanna recommend you a book "atomic habbits" you can buy or read from pdf digitally. It will make your life desciplined and happy. Life is precious. Don't waste it on bad old memories dear . Cycle of life is same as day night cycle if your life is much dark then it mean morning is near . That sunrise will change your life . Just don't lose hope and try to be calm. I feel sorry to hear about your past . May God bless you alot 🎉🎉

My husband and I are separated and not talking. I want to come for an intensive. Would it makes sense to invite him to go too or just go for me

It's up to you. If you're not ready to start working on the marriage together, you can do it by yourself and focus more on your own healing while he does his own recovery work.
If you're interested, you can also ask the office about our neuromodulation program and partake in that while doing the intensive since it can help with your trauma healing.
