Rhystic Studies contribution also greatly increased the value of the whole experience. This is what makes MTG the best tcg and it's not even close, the sheer detail is astounding. When you hold a MTG card in your hand it's like holding a fragment of a fantasy, the story and lore behind it, the art that captivates you, the awesome effects that you can play there is just no other TCG that does it to this degree. I always felt like Dominaria as a plane had a lot of history but not really an identity other than "basic fantasy land" but this new "World after Apocalypse" art I really like it 😁. I get "Studio Ghibli / Adventure Time" vibes. Giant machines and ancient artifacts, scars of a history long forgotten, forbidden technology overtaken by wildlife. Artificers messing with scientific discoveries they don't understand and magic that can tear reality!!! Wow....Dominaria really found its niche!!! 👏👏👏

Great way to introduce a set and provide historical context for MTG releases at the same time. It's great to see this as a continual narrative. I also enjoyed the honest enthusiasm of all of the creators and presenters. Definitely stoked for the new set--thirty years in I still get excited.
How can that be? Even without the explicit presence of the various Praetors in the recent expansions, the story had been building towards the New Phyrexian Invasion once the NPHs became aware of the defeat of Nicol Bolas. In fact, this plot was already in motion as a secondary one since SOI, when Emrakul was sealed in the moon; Tamiyo will eventually unseal Her and the only uncertainty is whether Emrakul takes over the NPHs or they managed to compleat her.
I can't name half of, the realms in Kaldheim, the houses in Strixhaven, or factions on New Kamigawa. My biggest problem, is how we have ONE set to take-in the flavor, AND MECHANICS of the plane. Then, we're off to the next. In turn, it's made the entire story feel like, "Oh we're here, problem solved! Next Plane! Oh we're here, problem solved! Next Plane"
@@rosedoesntknow1853 To be fair, not all planes need two sets (or even getting back to) : Ikoria, Eldraine, Strixhaven and New Capenna worked surprisingly well despite being fairly gimmicky, but probably would have failed as stretched over two sets. The reason why I love this set is because there is so much history with it so the story is more impactful and the cards too.
