Can't wait to try things out on mine..machine arrived 2 weeks ago, just today was able to order the engraving tool and the foiling tools, the tray and others aren't due until the end of the month, though being able to cut card without fighting with the mat is brilliant..
The ES mat is totally cool, especially if you have ever peeled paper off a sticky mat before!! ha! Just make sure the paper is flat for it work the best. Hope you enjoy it!!

I watch the replay but Thank you so much for your tutorial so specific and well explain, I make polymer clay earrings and I am exited to see how we can cut clay with the Curio 2 as it was mention before from the company. If we can I will be buying one, will appreciate a tutorial , only thing am worry about is the complains and disappointments about the Silhouette Software problems.
I have not had trouble with the software but I have a windows computer, it seems like the Mac computers have more issues. Also double check your computer has more than the minimum requirement. You can always go back to older versions of the software from Silhouette's webpage if you don't like the newest version.
I have cut clay on the cameo 4 before & I would like to cut more on the curio. I have dreams of cutting christmas ornaments but I don't know if I'll have time for that! Big blobby shapes worked the best on the Cameo 4, so I am curious how the curio will do!

So will the Chomas tool work in the Curio 2 in the tool1 slot with the adapter tool? Also great video
Thanks, Glad you liked!! I don't know if it will fit in the adapter & work well. She did come out with the Chomas tool in the larger size for the Cameo 4 & that will fit in the Curio 2. It does work in the Curio 2 in tool 1, but I would need to do more testing with it before I'd recommend buying it. If you have the silhouette stippling tool from the original curio, that works well with the adapter. Hope that helps!
GREAT idea with the cardboard template! Brilliant!! ;-) One question: are you sealing your ornaments with anything? Something other than resin....just to keep them from getting scratched. THANK YOU.
I'm so glad you like the video! I have never sealed an acrylic I have etched. I wear some for necklaces & they do end up with some light scratches but nothing to bad. Honestly I am not sure what you would steal them with.
Hi! Curious if you’ve tried the Chomas tool yet or anything else that can do fine line etching in the Curio 2?? It’s the whole reason I bought it and I’m so disappointed with how large the etch is from the current power engraver 😔
It's on my list & they are on my table to try!!! I just haven't had a chance yet, past the ones that I showed in this video. I am hopeful that one of the 3rd party tools will work in carriage 1!
This was very helpful, thanks for sharing. My Curio 2 is still in the box with the engraving tool which is the main reason i bought it to engrave on clear acrylic. It’s disappointing to learn it can’t do fine details though. Do you think they will create another tool for that?
I'm glad you found it helpful! I don't know what Silhouette's plans are. I am really hoping they haven't discontinued their stippling tool, it works well in this machine but it's out of stock everywhere & that makes me nervous for its future, to be honest. There are aftermarket tools available as well & I think that might be my next set of testing & video. At this rate, everybody I know is going to get an etched acrylic ornament for christmas!! ha!!!

It’s shown in the video, do you have a specific question?
How do you deal with the curio cutting crooked? Everything is taped down and something happens and the blade starts to move wrong or it cuts over the previous area but just off.
I haven’t really had that problem - I would suggest trying to reduce the force used. Or the automatic depth detection can get off if the object is shiny, you try using white paper when it reads the depth. (I did that in my foil quill video). Or add more tape! Hope some of that helps!
How do you load the debris tray?
It just slides right in. It’s a separate tray from the es mat.
