Tuna Stick Mount Fabrication and Fishing - Green Stick - OBX Tuna Fishing

Ep. 24 - Our Tuna Stick has been tied on with ratchet straps and bungee cords for years. We took some time this winter to fabricate custom aluminum brackets for our tuna stick (also known as green sticks). We understand that a green stick would look silly on Al's Gal, so we painted our white.
Watch this video to the end and you'll be able to see it in action. We caught several yellowfin tuna that day between the tuna stick and kite. Our clients were very happy.

Nice work! I would like to make a stick for my small boat. Did you slip the pipe into each other and weld? What did you finish the tip off with?

The actual tuna stick is fiberglass that slid into the aluminum pipe

Are you seeing better catch ratios of the greenstick compared to the outriggers?

It really depends on the conditions. If they aren't biting the baits, we'll switch to the stick
