Staying in Stanislaus National Forest

- Our adventure takes a nice pause as we set up next to a creek in the Stanislaus National Forest. It was a nice break after a whirlwind adventure to just sit back, relax, and explore.

Good job spending time with your kids...
Thanks so much! It really was a great time. We’re hoping for another successful adventure this summer.
Awesome videos. So beautiful it’s almost unbelievable.
That was a really neat trip and this spot was pretty great. This was close(ish) to the place we went last year just on the other side of the mountain. Thanks for watching Jorge!
Same type relationship I have with my daughter. Nice and relaxed.
It’s the best! Hard to do sometimes with a teenager!
Nice place to camp out good shot
Thanks so much I really appreciate you saying that. I need to venture out again it’s been too long!
Hi Duane 👋 - you guys always have the coziest and coolest camping setups. You'd be hard-pressed to find a nice and perfectly flat camping spot like that here in Nova Scotia. Although soft and grassy, you'd awaken with a cramped neck and back from your head being tilted upward and your butt dipped inward...but it's all part of the experience I guess, lol! Thanks for always sharing your camping fun. Never without its tricks and tips. Cheers ⛺🙂
You know that's one thing I noticed that is a problem with this large tent - it's much more difficult to find flat areas for it to fit. Especially when disperse camping. Everything is a compromise though. Generally with the cots it helps a bit because it compensates for the uneven ground. I'm hoping on this upcoming trip we will get to camp a bit - but not entire sure - the logistics are proving to be complicated...
Keep the vids coming!
I’m hoping to James! Thank you for the support! 👍🏻
So cool!
Thanks Laura!
I just participated in a LIVE broadcast and was pointed to your channel. Good stuff here! Additionally, i *just* saw i have the same tent you do!!!! Well, similar (i have the DX not the VX) and the vestibule.
Based on that alone, that is prima facie evidence you are a MENSA level genius!!!
Kodiak makes some great tents! Thanks so much for checking the channel out! 🏕
Lovely location. Good daddy daughter bonding time. 🏞❣
It was a wonderful time Cindy and I'm hoping we can do it again - or something like it. Shortly after this trip (in July) the state caught on fire and every place that I normally would go is closed. Not sure when we will get out and do something again.
@@dustyroaddestinations hoping and praying you find a place and get the time soon. Also, hope your back will heal quickly.
Thank you so much Cindy - I think today has been one of my better days - have been moving around and I'm a little sore but things definitely feel much better. I kind of think this go around was stress induced.
Great sound of the water 👏🏼😌
It was really nice! 😀
That's so beautiful! Nice landscape
It really is Baron and it was a really nice time up there! I'll be glad when I can get back out and go "adventuring"!
She’s so pretty- what a great way to bond 😘
Thank you and it really was. We’re hoping for another trip this summer!
🌲🌳👍
It sure was nice to be around green and trees!
love the vids, always a great family vibes.
can’t wait for summer.. i need to do something like this, thx for the heartwarming inspiration🦾❤️
Thank you so much Sketti really appreciate that! You really do - getting out is wonderful!
Don't wait for summer. literally the worst time of the year to go camping. Spring and fall are your sweet spots.
I hear you, during the summer I tried to get a high in elevation as I could in search of cooler weather. The times I wanted to really go the places were closed down and they keep extending the closures...
@@sitiwrattz thanks matt!
Hey Duane! Looks beautiful was just up in that area.. well we went to some rd off near strawberry. Was wondering if you can tell me where that location was by? I totally understand if your don’t want to share it. Just been looking for some Camp like that near the river and away from people. Thanks bud!
This is really super easy to get to and find - only downside is it is REALLY close to Highway 4. So just up from Markleeville and maybe a mile or so Highway 89. Was up there a few weeks ago with a buddy and there was enough room for a few rigs/setups. If you end up there let me know how it goes!
Beautiful site Brother!!
It was a great spot Aaron! It's always nice to be close to water!
My Brother are you also dsd?If so I looked into that site vlog or whatever we call it?
@@aaronpat123 yeah sorry about I responded from the different account. The DSD channel is a support and recovery channel for folks going through a difficult divorce with kids.
@@dustyroaddestinations I listened to a few!We'll talk soon.
Thanks Aaron!
Your daughter reminds me of my niece. I love your dsd channel too.
Thanks! Seems like she is definitely following the current trends!
Really nice Duane. Nice scenery nice times good hot chocolate. What more can you ask for? He heee. Was wondering if there were any fishes in the river.
I didn't see any and unfortunately I left my pole and license at the house. I did realize I basically said the same thing twice at the end - but it was a nice evening with the hot chocolate! Plus you can tell that my daughter was much happier THAT day than the Yosemite day.
Cool sleep well, awesome area 😴
It was a really great area and a nice spot!
I just totally fantasised about hopping in that stream in waders with a traditional 19th century style bamboo rod and 1930’s Orvis reel and light line to catch rainbows on the surface with dry flies in the late afternoon hatch... then cook the buggers over the fire! Fuck you Covid!
Beautiful video Duane! Taking the mini over the water if you’d had a plop, you’d have recovered it easy! Lovely stuff! Easy like Sunday morning!
Yeah that would have been cool. I don’t think there were any fish in there. It was pretty clear and didn’t see anything. Was definitely fun flying the drone around there.
Cool tent! Seriously great camping spot! I've never been able to stay in the Stanislaus NF only driven through it. I bet you slept great with the ambient creek sounds! 🏕👍
It was really nice! The next day we had a flash flood which swelled the creek a bit and made it muddy but it was really neat there. I had never even heard of Stanislaus before this trip.
@@dustyroaddestinations wow flash flood that made things interesting! I drove through it once cuz I made a wrong turn leaving tahoe. I was supposed to go to the 395 end up on the west side of the Sierra's lol.
Oh man that's definitely the wrong direction! It's a pretty drive though - but if you're trying to get back down the 395 that made for a REALLY long day. We were lucky that the flash flood was minor and didn't raise the water over banks - luckily we were about three feet or so higher than the water but it definitely got louder!
@@dustyroaddestinations ohh good. I'm glad you were out of harms way! Ya that'll wake you up!
Yeah that would have been a BAD way to wake up!
Great video dad, where’s this at I’m headed up there tomorrow.
Hi Sonny thanks so much I appreciate you watching! If I remember correctly here are the coordinates for that spot - 38.61044, -119.76508 - it is VERY easy to get to and is just right off the road. If you find it let me know how it goes!
I just pulled up the satellite view - yeah that was the spot
@@dustyroaddestinations thank you
Hi Sonny, did it work out for your trip???
@@dustyroaddestinations yes we had a great time, headed to humbolt for the weekend.
Nice to see you're still getting out, was this recent? Also, who built that stick TP in the back? Lol
It was back in July. My daughter and I took a week long adventure. That teepee was there when we got there. Not sure where it came from.
