i know there’s many but my favourite story is this one - zhu yuanzhang and his army were nearing the end of the yuan dynasty during the war with the mongolians. zhu and his armies were rewarded by the people with an abundance of tofu as a gift; so much so that it started to pile up and go “bad”. noticing that a lot of little white “hairs” had now grown on the tofu, zhu ordered his army chefs to deep fry the tofu and cover it in spices in an attempt to stop the massive food-waste and make it more palatable. and thus~ ✨ hairy tofu ✨ BUT not to be mistaken with ✨stinky tofu✨
I love this! I’ve been watching hairy tofu recipes videos wondering how to easily make it so the algorithm worked in my favor 😅 Mucor powder is interesting!
@@GannibzWell tbh i did some research and its actually not that bad, apparently the mold helps with digestion and creating beneficial bacteria. I still don't think it should be consumed daily though to much bacteria causes more harm than good.
What's the point of begging for pins in comments? Genuinely curious since it doesn't get you anything, you can't display likes as points on your profile....
Do you seriously source validation from meaningless likes that much?? You need to learn to be confident and love yourself cause this is just embarrassing tbh

Many people pan fry it and it gets crispy on the outside, will post in next video more about it!
On another note it is fascinating what your brain will accept as food to survive/ as in no 'too gross to eat'

Yeah, people eat carpet or each other raw if the situation calls for it.
Survival Instinct is one hell of a drug.
I saw Emmymade make it and describe the teste. A mild flavour but a little funky, not a lot more different than cheese, which often contains mold👍
if you can get past the visual, you don't really feel the mold when u eat it! it pretty much just dissolves!
Hahah that’s really interesting! Like the guy who invented penicillin by leaving agar plates in a desk drawer and forgetting about them 😂

Not about that life but if I was survival mode I think anyone would
It’s definitely for the adventurous eaters 😊

Mucor powder is interesting!
So glad the algorithm is algorithming ☺️
I'm confused, did you steam it or roast it after steeping it in mushroom?
Doesn't look like either, you just let it sit and get moldy (a specific mold tho, like how blue cheese is a specific type of mold)
You leave it out in a humid dark place for a few days and the fungi grows 🍄
It taste like blue cheese, I'm gonna try this some time 💕
It is a bit funky cheesy like blue cheese but really unique, definitely an acquired taste or for adventurous eaters ☺️
The hairy mold disappear (gets compressed like candy floss) after further cooking right? Right?
Yes! Just touching it makes the little hairs lie flat and frying crisps it up
Im curious.....what does eating the mold feel like....is it like eating cotton candy?
I think it could if you ate it in its furry state but I ate it fried and scrambled, the little hairs turn into a crispy skin.
Is it mold?
Yes but its safe like how blue cheese is
Where can you buy the mucor powder?
I have links on my blog post, my website link is on my UA-cam homepage ☺️
People in the comments freaking out like they don’t eat blue cheese dip with buffalo wings
I dont
Ngl the mold kinda looks like cotton candy
But taste is far from it!!
