In fairness I could have signed Haaland if I had city’s infinite money, dirty book cooking recipes and a club that would guarantee him trophies. Probably wasn’t that difficult. This man is a football man so that’s a step up on what we’ve had but let’s not forget this is a massive step up for him. He hasn’t ever proved himself as a CEO before. I’m cautiously optimistic.
True, but by all accounts has had roles and responsibilities in a vast part of the city machine, so should have a very good understanding of what works within a football club. Won’t be alone in the decisions with help from INEOS which should help also.
Kieran is obviously marvellous in knowing his stuff but fair play to the Channel and Joe, asking very pertinent questions and drawing the conversation nicely. Top touch!
It seems to be "mainly" fans from abroad; not exclusively, but largely international fans seem the most bent out of shape. Further to that, most of the ones I've interacted with online, seem to be American; followed by fans from various African countries. Certainly not surprised by the American fans.
You know this whole thing with the Chelsea bid, is it possible that it's very similar to how if you apply for a job, you apply for a bunch bc you want to practice interviews and get feedback on your CV etc.? Like if I'm doing an exam, I'd do practice papers. Isn't it the same kinda thing in principle? A guy like ratcliffe you've gotta imagine he thinks two steps ahead. The Chelsea bid just seems like he was getting his strategy in order so he'd be ready to get to work once the possibility of a united bid arose.
Exactly my thoughts, I said this at the time he bid for Chelsea. It's a dry run for Utd if it ever comes up for sale. Also he was late, how could you be late for a deal that size. He may have been in talks with the Glazers back then, proof to them he was willing to invest.
And he bid 2.5bill and there was also a condition that 1.5bil had to be invested on top. That's 4 billion in total that was pledged. So he's got plenty cash to invest into us. The initial 25% might actually be a good thing, so he has more available cash ready for investment
@samwize28I’m curious to see how the two power centres navigate conflict resolution..particularly around player recruitment given that Glazers still ultimately own the club..
15:42 No, the $300m investment is ALL in exchange for shares, there are no loans. These are new shares. Not shares from existing shareholders. The company has 486 million unissued shares.
What percentage does it boil down to for 300 million?.....Was it 4 %?..... 25% up to 29%?.... Does that mean he's buying at a valuation of around £5.9 billion for that 300 million?
@@plopplop1984 The company gives him shares.... Not the shareholders.... So everyone is being diluted.... Glazers mismanagement costing shareholders...

They need to open the Old Trafford concourses after the match, yes they're crap but they allow you to have a drink and discuss the match whilst the crowds go down outside. Stupid that the club don't let you do this when they love money
Hi Joe Love the comprehensive input from Kieran McGuire. Just as a matter of interest, do Paddock have to pay for this external information/advice? A yes or no would be sufficient. btw Great shows!!! VicH
The 300 mil is for infrastructure. Any transfer funds will have to come from revenue. Owners are allowed to put in about 100mil I think on top of that over 3 years
From a strictly business pov, how do you issue "fresh shares"? They have to come from somewhere. You can't magically create fresh shares. They have to be Glazers shares because United can't control other's shares. And I don't think Glazers will sell off those shares and put the money in the club.
We are always 12-35 points behind the top spot in the league since 2013. With 15-20 points somehow being tolerated. Why? We have to up our standards in this club. It's not about the money invested, it's about the performances. Players which cannot give us the results should be moved on immediately. Simple as that. Martial Antony what are they doing here? Maguire Lindelof Malacia Onana Mount Pellistri Amad out. Why do we keep such players? Bizarre.
@@garethdeere4822 pure insanity. If we need to put United's failure as a club in two points it would be failed transfer structure and internal disorganisation. But of course there are other things around those points, such as greedy owners, developing culture of money grabbers and slackers, rewarding laziness, punishing hard work and loyalty, wasting money on stupidity, etc. But the most criminal of all is lowering a winning team to a top 4 side, which then also often cannot get in top 4. Then blaming managers players for failure, when it's the club's fault of not being ambitious enough in the first place.
With only 150m we can buy players that can play good football perform for the team go for players under 30 million with good quality we can built united if we buy youth but we like old and dusted players that can only play for 1-2 seasons at the club for 60-80 million and flops for 70-80 million waste of money

Kieran is genuinely such a brilliant guest. Whenever I see he’s in a video it’s a must watch
Yeah, the exact opposite of when Dharmesh Sheth is on.
Kieran Maguire explains things so well
Yeah, he's very good. No sensationalism or bullshit
Cracking interview and another great reason why this channel is head and shoulders above the rest
Kieran is so pleasing to the ear.. very eloquent how he explains things.
That's why he's an academic and a uni lecturer!
Love it when Kieran is on, the price of football is a great podcast.

Kieran Maguire simply brilliant. Well done lads.
Very enlightening. Toxic Glazers need to go.
Can’t believe some people are moaning about qatar get over it or find another team preferably in Qatar

How to run a football club- do the opposite to everything the Glazers have done.
Honestly I would love a Ralf Ragnick Sporting/football Director role.
One who knows what to do and doesn't need to beat around the bush to do it.

49% divided equally between the 6 glazers. SJR/Ineos are on paper the majority shareholder
Antony Sancho 100mil Maguire Lindelof Malacia VDB 50mil. Mount Onana 50mil.
