Hi Everyone! I hope you're well. Thanks for watching this disturbing video which helps us all understand better the world we live in. Unfortunately, the algorithm seems to be recommending it to people in the creepy corners of the web who SUPPORT the horrifically racist comments, statements and views made by the Polish person that I met. Very scary! So I want to make some things clear about the comment section: 1. The comment section is to discuss WHY you think this level of racism exists, here in Poland or elsewhere, why I ran into it here, how pervasive is it, and if you have had any similar experiences with extreme racism. NOT to discuss whether or not his disgusting statements were true. 2. If you watch this video and SUPPORT the racist comments the Polish person said, your comments are not welcome and will not be given a platform here. This is because the basic worth and dignity of all people, regardless of race are not up for discussion here. And this is also a violation of UA-cam's terms of service and will be reported and then deleted from this point forward. I have ZERO tolerance for it. 3. If you feel that your comment might be construed as supporting the subject's racist comments, I recommend starting with "I do not support the statement that ________________________." And going from there. 4. I have been to Poland several times and loved it. I DO NOT think most Polish people share this person's views. That has not been my experience. I find it a clean, safe, pretty country and most of the people are kind and friendly most of the time. I DO fear that because of the boldness and shamelessness with which this person made these statements in Poland, in public, that extreme racism MAY be a bigger problem here than in western Europe or the US. However, I am not sure, and would like intelligent and non-racist insight into this from anyone who may wish to offer it. Does Poland need a bit of a racism wake-up call? Or was this just a freak fringe experience? The point here is not to mix and mingle raw racism with wider discussion about the other positives and negatives of my country or yours (both have both). The point here is to address the causes and solutions to EXTREME RACIST statements and whether certain countries or cultures embolden them. 5. When we encounter racism in our daily lives, what do you think is the best way to deal with it? 6. If you are ambivalent and see nothing wrong with his comments, you're also part of the problem. Please don't comment and go do some soul searching and self-educating.
@@eileenrogers4856 A gay man in Poland might be more aware of how homosexuality is viewed negatively in Poland, thus he might realize people who are non white are also viewed/treated negatively. Excusing racism because it happens everywhere is just a race to the bottom. That kind of thinking does not inspire people to do the right thing, but merely excuses their own personal beliefs/behaviours because others have done worse. Some people just have no respect for the dignity of human beings.

Gay people usually grow up facing some form of abuse and discrimination because of who they are, something beyond their control. It is my opinion, and also my experience, that when people are victims of discrimination, they often realize how hard it is for others who are also victims of discrimination and have empathy. I agree with you that racism and all kinds of bias are universal. I just felt this case was so extreme that it deserved to be discussed. Thank you!

@@TobyNomad Racism is stupid, but it's because of their racism and love for their own culture, that they're one of the only countries who managed to vote correctly and thereby keep their countries safe, by having very strict border control. A huge part of their cities, being so safe, is the lack of brown people or should I say - their violent cultures and their refusal to assimilate. These are just facts.

I can entertain your idea about hating people because of their actions. I live in Denmark and we have a lot of polish people come here to work because the wage is much better. The vast majority of all these polish people behaves well - but there is a fair bit of crime that comes from this group too. A big amount of machinery, tools etc gets stolen and end up in Poland. Should we exclude polish people from being allowed to enter Denmark? Should we hate all polish people because a small minority of them commit crime here? Of course not. Racism absolutely exists and what Poland is doing by excluding certain ethnic groups is exactly that. Call it what it is and stand by it. That I can respect even though I dont agree with it.

Critical thinking? Like looking at FBI crime statistics in the usa? Or migrant criminal statistics in Germany? We need facts to base our opinions off of. Then once we have the facts we can put in policies that help to adress the issues. For example: funding urban schools and encouraging marriage in the african ammerican community (like it was before the social safety net of the great society was introduced) or like making any migrants or asylum seekers have to learn the language of their new country in order to stay. Very simple things that would help everyone. But left wing politicians and activists cry out racism or bigotry when you try to implement these measures. Without reasonable changes and conversations about these issues (aka agree to disagree) then they eill continue to get worse and the more extreme elements will rise in power. Weimar Germany was full of left wing, radical views that the common german sid not align with. The radical elements against Weimar co-opted the feelings of the masses to garner attention to the national socialist party. The rest is terrible history. We need more conversation, more facts, more opinions to be openly shared. Instead of shutting people down and looking for confirmation in our echo chambers.

It would not be shocking to you if a black man said they were physically superior. And he backed it up with the stats about the marathon winners from east Africa. And sprint winners from west Africa. 1. Religion discussion, , native Americans had religions, all groups of peaople had religions. MOST if not all religions belive morals are religion based. Also I studied why this is a belive in Poland and I remember there were distrinct history events because communism hate for religion where entire regions were not aloved to pray, also in villages tere were no edication, there was region in now Ukraine that became iterarly a black hole mentaly, the evil and vilance that was there is unbelivable and I belive mostly because structure of religion was taken away where there already was no education ect. There are a huge number of Polish people in the UK, where I live; without exception they hate everything about the current Polish government and are not racist (less racist than UK native white people on average IMHO)

I kinda thought it was obvious, to be honest, that I didn’t think ALL Polish people were racist, but I’m realizing now more that American styles of headlines and conversation is not quite taken the same here. I did have an experience like that back in my college days - my first true exposure to someone who was strongly racist- where a man on the worship band with me in a Nazarene church actually tried to share a pamphlet with me that described the genetic inferiority of the black race. I was absolutely floored (and I had no personal experience with African Americans at that point in Montana) but I still knew better.

Very scary! So I want to make some things clear about the comment section:
1. The comment section is to discuss WHY you think this level of racism exists, here in Poland or elsewhere, why I ran into it here, how pervasive is it, and if you have had any similar experiences with extreme racism. NOT to discuss whether or not his disgusting statements were true.
2. If you watch this video and SUPPORT the racist comments the Polish person said, your comments are not welcome and will not be given a platform here. This is because the basic worth and dignity of all people, regardless of race are not up for discussion here. And this is also a violation of UA-cam's terms of service and will be reported and then deleted from this point forward. I have ZERO tolerance for it.
3. If you feel that your comment might be construed as supporting the subject's racist comments, I recommend starting with "I do not support the statement that ________________________." And going from there.
4. I have been to Poland several times and loved it. I DO NOT think most Polish people share this person's views. That has not been my experience. I find it a clean, safe, pretty country and most of the people are kind and friendly most of the time. I DO fear that because of the boldness and shamelessness with which this person made these statements in Poland, in public, that extreme racism MAY be a bigger problem here than in western Europe or the US. However, I am not sure, and would like intelligent and non-racist insight into this from anyone who may wish to offer it.
Does Poland need a bit of a racism wake-up call? Or was this just a freak fringe experience?
The point here is not to mix and mingle raw racism with wider discussion about the other positives and negatives of my country or yours (both have both). The point here is to address the causes and solutions to EXTREME RACIST statements and whether certain countries or cultures embolden them.

A gay man in Poland might be more aware of how homosexuality is viewed negatively in Poland, thus he might realize people who are non white are also viewed/treated negatively.
Excusing racism because it happens everywhere is just a race to the bottom. That kind of thinking does not inspire people to do the right thing, but merely excuses their own personal beliefs/behaviours because others have done worse.

Gay people usually grow up facing some form of abuse and discrimination because of who they are, something beyond their control. It is my opinion, and also my experience, that when people are victims of discrimination, they often realize how hard it is for others who are also victims of discrimination and have empathy. I agree with you that racism and all kinds of bias are universal. I just felt this case was so extreme that it deserved to be discussed. Thank you!

I can entertain your idea about hating people because of their actions. I live in Denmark and we have a lot of polish people come here to work because the wage is much better. The vast majority of all these polish people behaves well - but there is a fair bit of crime that comes from this group too. A big amount of machinery, tools etc gets stolen and end up in Poland.
Should we exclude polish people from being allowed to enter Denmark? Should we hate all polish people because a small minority of them commit crime here? Of course not.

1. Religion discussion, , native Americans had religions, all groups of peaople had religions. MOST if not all religions belive morals are religion based. Also I studied why this is a belive in Poland and I remember there were distrinct history events because communism hate for religion where entire regions were not aloved to pray, also in villages tere were no edication, there was region in now Ukraine that became iterarly a black hole mentaly, the evil and vilance that was there is unbelivable and I belive mostly because structure of religion was taken away where there already was no education ect. The belive that religion is morality is historically normal and understanable, its no longer correct but back in the day religion was also a sort of education, understanding the world ect.
That’s an interesting discussion, Native Americans did have religion. It just wasn’t one of the ones that the person I was was speaking with approved of. He thought the world would fall apart without HIS religion and culture. Anyway, I don’t think you need religion to be moral.
There are a huge number of Polish people in the UK, where I live; without exception they hate everything about the current Polish government and are not racist (less racist than UK native white people on average IMHO)
Hey! Thanks for your comment! That’s actually a really cool perspective to hear. I kinda thought it was obvious, to be honest, that I didn’t think ALL Polish people were racist, but I’m realizing now more that American styles of headlines and conversation is not quite taken the same here. I was HOPING for more Polish people to come out and speak against the racism and say that it doesn’t represent their country. Doesn’t seem to have had that result yet so I may need to rethink the approach :)

That conversation hurts my heart. He sounds narcissistic and self-absorbed. Total lack of compassion and empathy for thebplight of other humans. Heaven forbid he ever gets hurt and needs emergency care from a black doctor.... maybe that would change his mind? Maybe we'll never know. I did have an experience like that back in my college days - my first true exposure to someone who was strongly racist- where a man on the worship band with me in a Nazarene church actually tried to share a pamphlet with me that described the genetic inferiority of the black race. I was absolutely floored (and I had no personal experience with African Americans at that point in Montana) but I still knew better.
