I got me a second hand S21 Ultra, as a replacement for my former Pixel 6 Pro, and trust me, the difference between the screen and stereo sound between the real flagships and their cheaper bros is just too big. Ive used a 6a, 6, Galaxy S22 and compared to my P6P and now S21 Ultra, their screens looked more like expensive IPS screens - THAT´S how much of a difference there is in the panels. And Im the kind of guys who only needs 3 things from a phone - EXCELLENT screen, long battery life and great speakers. I don't game or take photos on phone

I've had the 7, then got the 7a. Re display brightness there's no major difference, even in auto peak brightness. In manual brightness mode the 7a is brighter than the 7, the 7a display seems crisper too
Even tho pixels suck now it probably would be because of software optimization and the chip in the a54 not being snapdragon especially for the price also affects performance. Even with bloatware the s23 ultra is very snappy for having extra apps.
The chip on the A54 is substandard. They should have gone for an old flagship one like the snapdragon 888+ or a 7 gen1. The rest of the phone is great...

I pay around $480CAD over 2 years for it. Upgraded from another phone(OP6T) and I gotta say I have no regrets. 90Hz is refreshing, wireless charging is something I don’t ever use, the camera is waaaaay better than the OP6T and it still outperforms the Samsung A54. Not to mention you’re not tied down to the Samsung ecosystem. Overall I’m pretty satisfied with it. If my carrier had a promo for the Pixel 7 I definitely would have chosen that. But if you don’t do anything but media consumption, browsing, and social media then GET THIS PHONE.

You should be fine with 7a or even 6a, so if you can get them for noticeably cheaper than the 7 I would do with one of them. I feel like the 7a is only marginally better than the 6a and only worth it if you need the better 5g modem. The 6a is goodv enough if you only use 4g
I was able to buy an open box like new pixel 7 pro for $600 which has been has been great. The recent father's day sale is what got me interested in pixels again. In my opinion it would be a mistake to cheap out on a phone that would last you half as long for only $100-200 less.
I would like Google to keep the Pixel Xa line to be $350-400. Get rid of features to keep the price down. It's a budget phone, it doesn't need 90hz, wireless charging, or any of the same hardware as the flagship line. There will be some hardware that it may be cheaper to keep the same, but if they can I would like its price reduced.
It's a shame to see Google's "cheap" phone getting more and more expensive. I thought Google had left the high end market but at this rate their phones will be back in that price range again

The pixel 7a has a somewhat better camera than the Pixel 7 though, especially if you like shooting raw and especially in low light. No i did not make an error, the Pixel 7 with an 'A' has a better camera.

I have a Pixel 4a which is going out of support imminently so the 7a is the obvious replacement but the price is steep.
You can trade in your existing pixel phone 🤳 when buying a new pixel phone 📱and pay much less 💰 at the google store 🏬

Longevity of support and better modem, that maybe doesn't heat up as much on 5g. No real reason to upgrade otherwise imo

No. The A54 is the choppiest phone over 350 bucks iver ever used. The Pixel 7A is Leaps and BOUNDS over all mid tier phones and alot of flagships. Hands down. Cmon man.
