They ended it with a jp exclusive dreamcast game instead but we got a better ending in SRW V and an even better one in T where Van from GunxSword tells him hes lucky his bride and him are still alive unlike him and the woman he loved and that his black cloak of vengence is his tux so go over there and greet your bride kid you earned it.
I figured out why the animation in this opening fascinates me. There's really not much of it. Animation that is. There's a hell of a lot of still images sliding past each other, or the "camera" panning over a still image, or still images with effects. Basically this opening is at least 50% still images. But it still looks really good because those still images are drawn so incredibly, and the "camera" rarely staying still means you probably won't notice unless you're actively looking for it. In a lot of modern anime I feel as though they'd just do some easier, less impressive animation or make excessive use of CG instead of trying to trick the audience into thinking there's more animation than there actually is, and successfully pulling it off because of good overall direction. But I'm not particularly educated on the inner workings of the anime industry, so this is just conjecture.
I might add that since the opening is 50% still or panning shots, once you get to the mechs in action the movement seems amplified compared to if the whole opening had that level of motion. Not sure if it was intentional, but it's a clever trick to make the action pop.
@@justinjacobs1501 You said it first!! Which was going to be my response: they saved all of the movement for the second half of the opening. It helps speed and intensify everything once the song picks up, then we start to see more action and explosions.
Me! Who still remembers the english words without having to turn on subtitles and can sing along with the Japanese? I've watched this anime too many times.
Just started this show out yesterday and I love this opening. The song was already being played on repeat before ever seeing it, but I go to the opening to see the Aestivalis be launched.

@Noodle1423 Really? I still remember this song by heart and I think you mean "they took half the bass background away" if you watch the non-HD version. Listening from my stereo widened speakers, there are no distortions so it's perfect audio quality.. They just took some instruments out or just lowered that.
All aboard the memory train.

2018 and still wishing this show got a conclusion in a second season.
Yeah. I wouldn't mind another movie TBH.
A super robot wars games concludes the series.
@@guiox The way they ended that Prince of Darkness movie made me feel empty lol. It's a great story that deserves a happy ending.
@@damiester1 the sega game that not many ppl know about was actually a bridge between s1 and POD..... and was never ported to the west >.>

It's amazing how in HD you can see the painstaking detail that went into these shows.
That unskippable opening.
Very high quality

Having an absolute banger of a song helps
The art style was so beautiful and detailed that the stills let you absorb all the intricacies.
@Mark Aven That's Ruri Hoshino who is opening her eyes.

*YOU GET TO BURNING*
They make a cream for that now.
-badass trumpet solo-
I just love 90s mecha anime the songs just bring back gd memories :)
The memories! !! This theme is so epic even without hearing it in years
Fun Fact - This was Monica Rials first VA work. She currently has 400+ under her belt
And she falsely accuses men of sexual misconduct
Who did she play?
It's...so crisp and clear. woah
I'd love to see the whole original series this crisp
Just like I commented on the full version: even the characters in the show knew their OP theme was a banger.
OMg its so clear!!
who is still listening to this song in 2016 ?
me! heh
+Simca and Esdese I've got the OST and I'm shocked they mixed down the music and cranked the vocals.
Utah Outcasts sh*t that is terrible. I feel bad for you.
+Simca and Esdese this song is sooo good

As a younger man watching this show for the first time, I believed I'd get to burning one day.
Now I know I'll never get to burning.
This brings back memories!!! I remember singing this song at a talent show when I was in Middle school!
Howd it go

If you ever finished it, what do you think of Nadesico's ending? I loved the series up until the ending but that ep was a major let down for me.
Gurren Lagann + Neon Genesis Evangelion + Virtual On + The Irresponsible Captain Tylor = Martian Successor Nadesico
Gundam+Macross too
+Patlabor
With A Drop from Star Trek.........the destroyed Colony are called Utopia Plantia Colony
This came BEFORE EVA & GL
SRW V introduced this anime title to me. 😊
1980s and 1990s era anime have a certain charm to them that most of today's anime severely lack.
Ive seen many anime in my lifetime, but this one will forever be my favorite...
Ah, my personal all-time favorite anime which i am still waiting 20+ for that promised sequel...
i feel so old!
nice opening ..i like that ..it is one of the favorite anime opening in my list
One of the shows that got me into anime way back
Of all mecha series I just love how goddamn OP the ship is.
Sound quality is very good.
Not gonna lie, I got a lil tear in my eye after hearing this after all these years
I don't what, but 90s character design had some charms in it, like look at those glorious hairs.
I miss this show so much ;~;
Imagine a reboot, a good one.
This opening always hits whenever you come back to listen to it again ✨
So true
Wow it feels like this show is forgotten
I was looking for this awesome OP song as I remember it from one of those previews in the good ol DBZ VHS tapes! Good times....
ughhh this makes me want them to release this on bluray!
I wish the intro to the Expanse could be this exciting.
I dunno. It doesn't feel the same as that 102MB realplayer file covered in artifacting that I first saw....
Lmaoooo
What a throwback
1:10 hits different after seeing the Ground Frame Flying around and observing rather than joining the fight after a few episodes..
I watched this show for the Gekiganger clips
It's called an eargasm.
How did this not get a second season ?!!
Yo tenía 12 años cuando lo pasaban en Animax ❤ que vieja estoy 😅😂
I always used to hear this OP off my Dragon Ball Z VHS tape and it always used to fascinate me. There will never be a time like the 90s again..
Super Robot Wars players check in here.
One of the Best Real Robot Animes Ever!
Love this OP, those drums and the bass reverb are fabulous. :)
So good I couldn't stop myself dancing to it.
In Japan. Unfortunately when ADV dissolved, we lost most of their properties, save for big stuff like Evangelion.
It would be great if they would reboot this and animate the period between the series and the movie.
I think they should just retcon the whole movie. Series was great, movie was terrible :S

Love this show

I miss studio xebec :( they don't make them like they used to right?
wow... after all these years and i don't think Nadesico's battle animation is any weaker than Gundam 00 series...
Asura.H agree, i have watch both of them!! And the mach control system is still very advance concept even now!!
smoking weed to this song in 2027
Coming back and watching this after the movie fuckin hurts man ;_; where did the old times go
The movie killed the franchise pretty much aside from some SRW appearances. Such a shame.

Evangelion without the existencial crisis. I love it
I just want to know what the hell happen after the end of this series and the movie! Why it went from lighthearted to dark as fuck.

I just pretend the movie is bad fanfiction and is not canon.
Well Super Robot Wars V fixes all the problems with the Movies ending so much and so well that most people are declaring it the canon ending.
You have my attention. Tell me more.

I had to come here due to seeing this in SRWV
yeah that opening
what strange scales on the voice in the first segment, it kinda caught me by surprise at each note. sounds like a combo of major and minor...?
Holy fuck Martian Successor Nadesico one of my favorite Anime ever

for some reason, this reminds me of one of the Rockman.exe or Rockman Ryuusei ops. can't recall which one though :/
Was that Maynard Ferguson on Trumpet lol?
Now there's a thought! Who knows…?
Gracias a Gameboy advance el juego SRW J , el anime nadesico me gusto y fue de maravilla hasta sus openings
Ohh boy. Would you just look at that!
