I've recommended the game to a few of my friends over the years. They've all stopped playing but they also seem interested to come back when it's playable. The main blockers for me are being able to traverse around smoothly, equip weapons reliably and actually be able to shoot your weapons consistently. 4.0 is feeling more like a game than ever but still won't be comfortable telling my friends it's safe to jump back in until those issues are resolved.
Been recommending 2025-2026 for many years for casuals, since I stated 10 years ago 2026-2027 is when I expected sc would hit release quality and 7+ years ago anticipated sq42 would have a 2025-2026 release, hence over the years nothing has surprised me, but it's never been something I could recommend to casuals while still in Alpha and only those who get that giddy feeling like a kid on Christmas when you first get in your ship and head into space... Those who get it get it, those that don't... Don't Casuals like movie immersion, not so much gameplay immersion that doesn't involve immediate pew pew, so throw in all the bugs that need to learned and avoided it's a killer for those who want a lazy experience full of thrills out the gate, it needs to be pretty smooth out the gate with clear direction towards the gameplay they want or they ain't going to like it, but once those are in place it allows for casuals to grow into more hardcore players IF Chris delivers on the goods... Which seems to be on track as well, but until we get there things could always de-rail when it's publicly funded as well.
„how to pirate“ please do a video on that. i like to play by myself so far but for once in a game i would love to do something different and be „the bad guy“ … i am on and off on sc so a „guide“ on starting on the pirate path would be so awesome!
The best the game has ever felt, but only in Pyro's lawlessness and therefore dynamics, and only due to limited UEC and high prices of items / travel. Also for me the game is running incredibly well
Had the same issue. Character repair did nothing. What worked for me was a ride to another station on an abandoned ship. Once I got there, hangar worked, so did asop terminal. You could try to ask somebody for a ride, or join a friend and have them drop you off somewhere.
Couldn't get in 4.0 on 23.12. as I was just getting 30009 error at login. Yesterday tried again and did get in. Contracts seem to have plenty of issues still but other than that things went quite well. Encountered just one immortal NPC that was also warping around. QT seems to work too now but trying to jump from New Babbage to Port Olisar just throws you in deep space :) Was also fun watching NPCs walking into a bonfire (and dying there). At least they're moving now.
Making T1-5 mats purchasable with real money would be the worst idea ever. The whole industrialization/player driven economy is enough to make a game like Eve Online compelling. If they ruin that in SC it'll be a crime against humanity.

Voidy your qt drives dont dissapper. when you change components it will get sorted out automaticly. so you have to go where you changed ship parts and ther eyou will finbd the missing qt drives. had the same issue
I dont recommend it, most people I know wouldn't put up with the mess frustration and bugs, the last few days have been worse than average, when you can get in, the missions are broken and on some servers the QT markers arent there, but on the PVP side that is the most stable aspect I have found, but trying to get out of your starter by renting a ship and do hauling has been a nightmare since boxing day, any more than 2 missions stacked it goes wrong, stacking 6 missions to the same drop off only pay out 2 no matter what server your on, bounties are better when the markers work, but other than that its been much more fun in Elite fighting the Thargoid titan.
oh me traded some fruit esp sunset berrys - its not a lot of boxes so i am quick loading after hanging around for a bit - today i wanna see who else buys these as they got bought yesterdays - but game dead no logins for me =(

I can't get into the hanger and can't call ship from the asop terminal. It's dead for me.

I’m currently doing a zero to hero playthrough with my Cutter. Almost at 2mil, will get a Vulture first.
