If the mass movement was towards Jandor, I'm sure the so called defenders of Yoruba interest will find another reason to discredit him. To use ethnic bias against GRV is just sickening. All the 3 major candidates are Yoruba. Two are from Lagos itself (one can trace his roots to Lagos Island). Even the incumbent cannot boast of that. This is about the Lagos gubernatorial race, 2 of the 3 candidates are from the state....and all 3 are Yoruba. People have a right to choose any of the 3. Let's top making people feel bad about making a particular choice. When one is office, they need to perform well so that their works speak for them at election time. If everything has been done well and above board, the incumbent should have nothing to fear from any candidate.
It is rather dismissive of you to say that people are being manipulated because they do not see things from your point of view. My great grandad came from Ile Ife in today Osun state and settled in epetedo and became a Lagosian. I'm a 4th generation Lagosian.
My people came from the East in the 60s and they settled in Lagos. My Yoruba is over cooked, far better than Sanwo-Olu's. Sanwo-Olu is not a Lagosian. GRV is omo-ibile Yoruba.
My Father came to Lagos in the 50s from the East, married a Yoruba woman from Oyo and had kids in Lagos. We visit our paternal and maternal ancestral homes on periodic basis. Some fools will be preaching hate against the 2 most blessed Tribes in Nigeria. Mcheew

Prof. Ambrose Folorunsho Alli was the Governor of the then Bendel state , between 1979 and 1983.He was married to Rosemary Alli , a Briton. While some people considered Folorunsho as a Yoruba name and alien to Esan land where he hailed from , the people of Bendel state voted for him as the Governor of Bendel State on ground of competence. Alli did not disappoint us. He founded almost 1000 schools, four teacher training colleges, Ambrose Alli University, three polytechnics etc. Alli fought and established the right for non - federal universities to be accredited . He also won 12% derivation for oil producing state .
The people of Lagos state must learn from Bendel experience. We must rise above primordial considerations of name , ethnic identity of spouse etc. Vote for competence and reject those who sentence the people to serfdom.
