I believe if you were to grind all the dry ingredients first then add water, it would be a slightly less messier process and possibly a more evenly distributed mix? 6:59
you are absolutely correct. i just hate the fact that I every time i try to mix it, some of the food falls out. i have been meaning to get a bigger grinder. so I can grind without constantly loosing some of it. I just cant get myself to pay for another one :) UA-cam is not monetized yet. :(
Thank you for your question! It's a valid concern regarding nitrates. If the water in your main tank has high nitrate levels, it likely won’t reduce the nitrates in the worm tank. However, the water in the main tank usually has much lower nitrate levels than a worm tank, which can build up quickly depending on the amount of food and the number of worms. In my setup, the main tank has extremely low nitrates. I hardly ever perform large water changes-it's been so long that I can't even recall the last time I changed more than 5 gallons. I designed my system this way to simplify maintenance and make water top-offs easier. Typically, when I do a top-off, my main tank is missing about 3 gallons. I replace those 3 gallons with 5, allowing 2 extra gallons to overflow into the worm tank. A pump then drains the excess water from the worm tank directly into the toilet. That said, you don’t necessarily need to use water from your main tank in your worm tank. Fresh water from a bucket works just as well."
Thanks for the video. Good info. How often do you do the water changes?
Once a week. When i Top off my Tanks.
Thanks for sharing 👍
you are welcome. Thank you for watching.
This is a cool setup

I'm confused by using tank water for the change in the worm tank. That wouldn't reduce nitrates would it?
