- People seem to quite like my previous video, even through my complete noobishness, so let's move on to the next mission in the series where the Battlestar Theseus makes a stand against the pursuing Cylon Basestar.
I like the detail of having the old style basestar on the planning table, makes perfect sense in universe as they wouldn't know what the new ones looked like so they would not have models of them.
Except surely they'd have 3d printing, and would be able to make a 3d print of any model needed for the planning table in 13 seconds (to avoid confusion)
Edit: but I do find it an awesome nod to the back-story! (didn't want to be entirely pedantic in the thread!)
*****
They've never shown any form of 3D printing in any of the NuBSG series. Plus that would be a waste of resources.
This game was incredible, and I am not saying that just because I totally didn't write those bugged CNP programs...
Looks really well made. Makes me sad x rebirth was that bad.
x rebirth is sh** against that. alson the cocpit with the radar is makeing it more worthy
wow that cutscene at the start was like the best thing ever!
they used the old models of cylon ships because they obviously cant have the ones... that was the cutest detail ever :)
o_o ... reaches for the BSG Box set and calls in sick.
time for another bsg sit-down.
Tyler Coates
Well, I'm already at season 3 finale :D
Not for the first time of course.
if i sat down and watched it again, it would be my 4th watch-through. I love the rebooted BSG universe and show. one of the few shows that the reboot was much, much better than the original.
Tyler Coates Along with Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis,it's one of the best space sci-fi shows out there.
definitely. Nothing can keep me glued down like good sci-fi.
Scott, do you think you can do more of this? I downloaded it myself and am really enjoying it, as much as I enjoy watching you play it.
number 8
Gotta say. Quality for a game like this is quite good.
Anyone start watching this series again with the release of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock?
this cockpit view need battlestar galactica online for his strikers ^^
the briefing looked pretty real to me
That voice acting is phenomenal.
yep , this fucking game is awesome, joystick is mandatory
QoL advice: Mute the in-game narration at the end if you are going to talk over it. My brain partially overheated trying to read, listen, and listen at the same time.
"I'm going to spectate from a distance" he says as he drifts closer.
Scott you silly.
totally makes sense that they feel an explosion in space
IT IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE! 'QAPLA!!!
There was an official Battlestar galactica game a bit like this, made in 2003 by Warthog games. Its really good too. Difficult, but good. Really nice cockpit views too.
I installed it, and it runs, but I want to play it in fullscreen. I click "run in fullscreen" and all it does is run it in a border-less window in the center of my screen and is still small. I am running windows 8.1 and have set the correct resolution.
Help!
2:51 - Did the equip screen say these really were "Air-to-Ground" missiles? Vipers mostly fought in space during the First Cylon War. Does the "HD-70" acronym for short range missiles stand for anything?
4:23 - Now THAT is something that should have happened in the show, and often! Cylon Basestars on the show carried more than 400 Raiders each, and they could resurrect the Raider consciousnesses after death, so I'm amazed that Raiders weren't shown to be sacrificing themselves to block, deflect, or prematurely-detonate anti-ship shells fired by Battlestars, since no Cylon Basestar on the show ever mounted point-defense weaponry to shoot down incoming ordnance.
@ Scott Manley
You should have used dual-fire mode to fire two missiles at once at the turrets. That way, you could have taken each one down in a single run instead of having to come back around... Did you know about dual-fire mode?
This game is cool
the basic toogle glide is Alt-G if i remember well, and "G" alone is to glide while pressed, set that on your joystick => look fabulous while doing insane things in front of the toasters
One year ago I was playing this game. I was using microsoft voice recognition with macros and joystick. This game is awesome.
How have you changed the axis controls on the joystick? My roll and turn axis are all messed up...
This looks like so much fun. Downloaded.
Hey Scott cool game love your videos i always watch them. wish we were friends, I'll continue to watch and comment.
Whenever space sims have audible weapons exchange, I like to go with the assumption that your onboard computer has a suite of friend or foe sound effects that it uses to indicate weapons fire or impacts.
Well you might hear the weapons fire, seeing as they are part of your ship
Does anyone know how to find some multiplayer servers? I made an account and everything but no servers show up.
can this be played mouse and keyboard? cause i can't for the life of me fly with a joystick :(
Finally got to play one of the best space fighter games, ey?
I tried the game, it's great. But it feels like the viper is braking automatically.
A much more satisfying episode to me!
This game looks great, i wish we can support them on patreon, help them do this with unreal
If this works with track IR, would it work with an oculus then?
Looks and Works better than Star Citizen
#rekted
Please do more! That video was just so awesome! (BSG is one of my favorite TV shows.)
Hey Scott, love the Diaspora Shattered Armistice coverage, downloaded it, and also have a Saitek x52 Pro, but cant get it mapped in the config menu, basically, I hit the bind button, press a button on my joystick/throttle, and it doesn't take. If I press a mouse button or keyboard button, it rebinds, but nothing from my Saitek is being registered. I started up the Saitek config software, and all the buttons are recognized by that, but not by Diaspora. Help? thanks, love your stuff
Ok, nevermind, I was an idiot, didn't see the Joystick settings in wxLauncher, put it to detect, and calibrated it, and all works well. I would like to know what your key map looks like, jeez, there are a TON of targeting options.
when you neil the config can you share it?
missed part one , still downloading this ,, looks AWESOME! thanks scott btw i want a mod to have jebediah as my wingman
i love this
It is a really good game/mod. I found this stage to be the most...boring though (aside the tutorials.)
If anyone knows how to make a level select option in-game please tell me! I hate having to do the tutorial over as the only way to play a previous level is to go ahead and restart entirely.
Edit: Wah! I'm sure my version didnt have those cut scenes!
you can actually skip the training mission in the upper right corner of the Briefing screen.I think.
Thanks!
Pretty sure you can replay completed missions by going into the armory and selecting simulator.
its STS (ship to ship) as you are in space
How did you get your joystick set up?
Can you rearm if you land in hanger?
Great gameplay commentary mate
This game looks neat.
XD how can you be so bad but so good
I found this game good, but the control scheme hard to use, is better configuration to make it easier to play?
I set w a, s, and d to standard forward, back, l/r translations, then ctrl for up and space for down translations. Mouse for attitude control (make sure to check inverted, the damn thing inverts by default and is confusing as hell). Worked like a charm, esp. with glide as z, it got really fun to float around in between the action sequences.
where did u get this game
Seriously tired of the 95 % female commanders everywhere!
Where? I've only heard two female commanders.
Can't wait Scott!
So your using the x52 pro?, watched the ksp seaplane vid. Im ready for a nice FF joystick that is a reasonable price, not like the 500$ warthog. And Logitech is out of the question. This keeps me from playing my simulators, im using the regular x52. I miss my MS Sidewinder FF.
the x52 is to loose though, and it ruins the experience. I do have Trackir4 and Saitek rudder pedals.
A lot of people would recommend getting the Warthog along with the FSSB R3 mod for it. Only problem with it is that it's very expensive, with the mod itself setting you back at least $800, not to mention the Warthog itself being $299.99 ($499.99 if you get the HOTAS version).
Can i play this
good video
you only took out one raider with the missle.
Good to see it. This had an awesome, albeit way too short campaign. I hope they release more.
Release 2 containing campaign centered around Valkyrie-class battlestar (and release 1.5 - a polished version of release 1 with added multiplayer) is being worked on.
CrazyChemistPL Nice, ty
what button u press to launch?
ah thats why i couldnt launch xD dont ot that on mac
This game looks beautiful.
I wish I had a rig that could run it.
The game that this mod is for is from 1998, I am sure you have a rig that can run it.
CockatooDude Actually this is a mod for Freespace 2, which came out in 1999, and is based on the source code/upgrade project which has overhauled the game several times over now, so the engine has been pretty modernized. Combine that with high resolution textures and high poly models, and you can't reasonably compare it to FS2 at all. That said, the hardware requirements still shouldn't be all that high, so only an exceptionally bad computer would be unable to run it.
HarbingerDawn Shows how much I know... Sorry.
makes me want to reinstall FSP2 just to give this a try
You don't have to. Game has standalone installer.
You can get it as a standalone package.
This is a great series!
this set up reminds of free space!
It's build on the Freespace 2 engine.
wow! that's pretty interesting to know! Thanks!
This game sucks I wanted to play online and I can not even understand nothing there tutorials
Remember when BSG was about shooting toasters instead of crushing your soul with depressing love triangles where someone is a human looking cylon?
