This is worth every penny. Peacock herl goes on the hook strong and beautiful. Combinations of flash and hackle and/or hair give the tyer a ton of new body and hackling options with which to experiment. A friend recrived one and didn't think much of it at first glance, but now finds it indispensable for peacock herl on his salmon flies and spey style steehead flies. I never regret money spent for a well designed, well machined tool. The flies I tie with this stand up to serious fights with aggressive fish.
Reminds me of the over -designed, very expensive tying tools by Marc Petitjean. Beautiful but overkill for such a simple task. This would be a great gift for someone that has everything he needs but wants to try another gadget.
one of those tools i held off on for a long time - finally dropped the 40 bucks. I gotta say i like it a lot, and use it most days I tie, for something
Unless it’s free , I don’t see throwing $$$ that way . Thanks though . Great way to start my morning. Always enjoy a good laugh 😂
What is the tool that looks like finger nail clippers that you use to cut the thread?
That is exactly what they are. The blades are straight as opposed to concave. Mr. Green Nail Clippers, Cuticle Clipper, Medical Grade Stainless Steel, Sharp and Durable Nail Cutter for Men and Women (M-1110plus)
Renzeti DarthVander 🙌 FYI Uni is good… BUT SEMPERFLI IS GREAT 😎
They’re all good for certain applications.
Would you tell me the name of the micro nipper/(scissor) that you are using?
Mr. Green Nail Clipper
@@Kimo1999 Thank you!!
Looks like it is an over engineered piece of bling. Good technique with out the tool will give better results..
I love mine for rabbit and squirrel collars...way better than using the bulky hide
Waste of money tool. Complete nonsens.
Nahhh
