I love how when Demod says "This boss is the hardest for me" that means he might have to break a sweat to do it hitless. When I say "This is the hardest boss for me" that means I have to put like half an hour aside just to kill them

I did this game completely blind. No previous dark souls experience and it took me ~140hrs. Although I took my time and grabbed pretty much every item I saw... I like loot
I keep coming back to this video. It’s a lovely video to watch to learn about stuff for how to beat Dark Souls 3, sure, but its length and the lack of bombastic stuff actually makes it good background listening. Even when going to sleep, and in fact is actually very pleasant. Being lulled to sleep by Dark Souls 3 speedrun strats. Good times. XD

Well you can not quit out if you don't like it. if you don't mind the extra seconds of course. but yeah I hate that too especially with the long ass loading screens it get's frustrating.
i can actually understand that and all but I guess it wouldnt work? it could be working without all these enemyresets and the 5 sec timeloss which isnt a timeloss when the meta consider it as normal. I cant Imagine a Dark souls run without quitting out. The mechanics which are coming with quitting out are oddly perfect for speedrunning this game especially.
When I first got this game (with no prior souls experience), I didn't know about Wolnirs bling, so I actually really struggled with the easiest boss in the game, and failed again with Yhorm because I didn't realise he doesn't like a light breeze
really good content and well made, very good idea to make a non-speedrunner friendly run, I'll use your route to up pvp characters faster now that you need to clear the 2nd DLC to get the rings
its not about he story in play time, there are infinite builds. (or approximately 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 combinations with 50 levels) :p
He reached the undead settlement in 7 mins while I'm here, 2 and a half hours in, and getting my ass handed to me by the first knight in the high wall...
Its ok DS3 is my first soulsborne game and every area took 3 hours lmao. Specially the knights you speak was the first hurdle. I practiced on the knight below the second bonfire of highwall. Parry and all. Learned to git gud hahaha
theDeModcracy It's my 2nd favorite (Artorias of the Abyss is my favorite) Ringed City was a bittersweet ending to Souls though. Still have to kill that dragon but I will use this as a guide.

haha I'm sure you'd kill him easier on another attempt. I found him a bit hard at first, but once I realized that every attack he does has a decent tell and a big recovery period (plenty of time to hit the head) it got easier!
Super interesting and informative run! I just cleared the game with a friend for the first time, so I’m going down a rabbit hole of old DS3 videos now for builds, lore, speedruns etc.
I've learned that there are a decent amount of people who play this way naturally. I had to learn it for myself. Quite useful, but it's not completely natural for me.

Hey DeMod. Not sure if you still read the comments on these older videos, but I just wanted to thank you for getting me into speedrunning this game. I started with this route, but I later learned the meta route with all of the hard skips and everything. I still occasionally watch this video just for fun because it's so quality. You give a lot of good tips for bosses and for general running, even if it's not the fastest route with the skips and all. Again, thanks man.

gegard balek fuck dogs in all souls games. Miyazaki made me dislime dogs irl. from the first time in lower undead burg and put them in a fucking "boss fight" you can only clal capra a boss because he's in a tiny room with 2 dogs.
nilo fernandez pirate would be great but it's a small town and there's no water and buying a ship would be more expensive or I could steal a car drive to a port steal a ship then become a pirate. actually that sounds awesome
follow your dreams i guess... Try being a bandit or smth. thats the closest to a pirate on land. Like with two revolvers and a horse... That would be great! or move to a coast or something.
Every single one of Midir's attacks has a recovery period where you can get near his head to do damage. I honestly did a pretty poor job of fighting him in this footage, but I'm able to recognize most of his tells. Whenever you struggle with a boss like that, study their movements so you can tell what move is coming and react properly. When you do that, you'll have the time you need to get hits in on his head.
And whatever you do DONT SUMMON OTHER PEOPLE. That makes the fight soo much more chaotic, you cant predict his attacks anymore. And when your summons die all you are left with is a Midir at 3x health. GG
Use DG Greataxe weapon art, it does like 2000 damage to him. I know you’re probably over souls games by now but if anybody’s seeing this right now than it could help
DeMod thanks so much for helping me with all this kinda stuff. I'm sure you hear all this shit everyday but your videos have taught me how to quick menu, do quitout (no more of the hooded mofos for the catacombs) and a ton of items I would never have gotten, and so much more. I love ur football analogy, however we can't just forget our previous makes. One of the biggest things jn a good QB (and speed runner) is learning from you mistakes and reflecting, but not letting it get to your head, which u consistently make an example of. Great run bro

Half an hour? Try a couple days to a week for me. First time I tried O&S back in DS1 I was stuck for about two weeks I think

Ok, i know that's a speedrun, but how did you defeat DarkHeater Midir in that small amount of time?! After over 20 tries i still haven't beat it
Every single one of Midir's attacks has a recovery period where you can get near his head to do damage. I honestly did a pretty poor job of fighting him in this footage, but I'm able to recognize most of his tells. Whenever you struggle with a boss like that, study their movements so you can tell what move is coming and react properly. When you do that, you'll have the time you need to get hits in on his head.

And whatever you do DONT SUMMON OTHER PEOPLE. That makes the fight soo much more chaotic, you cant predict his attacks anymore. And when your summons die all you are left with is a Midir at 3x health. GG
Use DG Greataxe weapon art, it does like 2000 damage to him. I know you’re probably over souls games by now but if anybody’s seeing this right now than it could help

I'm sure you hear all this shit everyday but your videos have taught me how to quick menu, do quitout (no more of the hooded mofos for the catacombs) and a ton of items I would never have gotten, and so much more. Dark souls 3 is my first souls game and I mostly bought it due to your boss ranking videos. Your honestly one of my favorite UA-camrs/ Twitch streamers and I hope you keep the good shit coming.

Honestly I haven't seen a dog teleport in maybe all of DS3
It really only happens if you try to run past them. Their AI is bugged to keep up with the player so they'll drop out of the sky.
Yea they teleport for me all the fucking time, annoys me so much when i go into the next ng cycle to get some slabs :/

I've beaten Gael with Heavy Exile Greatsword +10 in my last playthrough, and i noticed Gael geta stunned every 3rd attack with that weapon.
Yea, it varies based on how heavy the weapon is.

I feel like the princes are one of the easiest bosses to me. To me their attacks are heavily telegraphed. Gotta try a speed run soon tho.

I love ur football analogy, however we can't just forget our previous makes. One of the biggest things jn a good QB (and speed runner) is learning from you mistakes and reflecting, but not letting it get to your head, which u consistently make an example of. Great run bro

I don't even speedrun lol, it's just a game that I enjoyed so much and I had my fair share of struggles and I wanna see the cheesy ways (not necessarily easy ways) to beat the game! And you're funny and everything you explain's quite clear, even for a non speedrunner. Keep it up!
Is the "crocodile" on the bridge required in this category? most the time I just run to the force field.
Mr.Tatero I assume you kill it there because it's more annoying under the bridge where can't move as much.
Mr.Tatero he kills it to get the pontiffs eye ring for more damage with consecutive hits, which is a good damage boost for the sellsword twinblades

Yeah the first two take like 15 seconds and the last 2-3 minutes
