Monarchs post 2016 never convinced me, but now it seems you found maybe the BEST shell for a build since then. The Fenrir + Byssted are so functional in the deck it's unbelievable. Good job 👏👏👏
I LOVE this list! if there a better time for Monarch to top it will be in this format! since the handtraps are not populair at all! my question however is, what is your Mine out ? you either add 1 cosmic OR that continuous spell that floowander have, you can tribute mine for your monarchs! that card is really underrated imo. drop the upstart for it maybe ? anyway, excellent list! side deck will be tough maybe ? A lot of comments on removing CoH. I’ll make the counter point that since Ishizu Tear has the potential to play during your turn 1, cards like Mind Control and Change of Heart will be much better main deck stables as it will likely be live Turn 1 (also Bystial on your turn 1 is common as well). Probably replace the two allure for two Tactics as Bystial and Ishizu Tear will be rather common which should hopefully make Tactics live in most games.
Tbh, this might seriously improve monarch and make it slightly less bricky, considering the previous risk to die to 1 imperm/veiler/ogre with the wrong hand
@@malvo2099 Well, I'm pretty sure that fenrir is the only like expensive card, (like above $20 (unless I'm mistaken), and as its a staple in pretty much everything except maybe floo, it doesn't matter which deck you play cuz it'll probably have fenrir in it.

I really like Earthshattering Event on the side deck with Domain, triple tactic tends to do better for me than allure. Also been trying extra deck Mega Zaborg turbo with Dogmatika and it's really fun.
I agree.TTT is definitely better than allure because it's more versatile. If you manage to TTT and summon Erebus, you've returned 2 cards from your opponent's hand back to the deck, have knowledge of your opponent's hand and they start their turn with 2 less cards.
Main Deck: • -2 Allure, -1 Druiswurm, +3 TTT - None of the DARK monsters are cards you want to banish; they either lock or interrupt, so Allure is low value there. TTT also lets us draw, but it can also take control and check the hand; all these effects are fantastic right now, and it makes the deck much better going second. • I'd personally run Called by the Grave over Upstart; it's very nice going first and second and makes the Spright matchup a little better. Side Deck: • 3 Mystic Mine: Terrific going second card as it pretty much forces an interaction and Monarchs can easily play with 2 monsters. Also, if they use S/T removal on Mine, then Domain is a little safer. • 3 Dark Ruler No More: Spright cares little about the Bystials and you need a way to deal with Toad boards efficiently. It is vulnerable to EEV but I feel like if people are still siding that, and they see it, it's an L you gotta take. • 1 Pankratops: Great going second into Spright as it deals with Toad + Elf, works alongside Fenrir, and it's just another body. Forces backrow, too. • 2 Majesty's Fiend: I'd almost say to just main deck those over Vanity's considering they tend to cover more ground, but this works. I'd side them because Floo is a deck and you need tools to beat that. • 3 Solemn Judgment: It stops anything that threatens the setup. • 3 Lightning Storm: Mass removal is always quite solid.
Spell Canceller turns off your Domain, so no point running that. Jinzo gets ran over by Lady, which gets searched by Arianna, so it's not like Jinzo is gonna stop Labrynth.
This is a very interesting and cool variation of Domain Monarchs. This is my favorite archetype to play with and have seen a lot of success with it many times at locals. If anyone wants to see my deck list for Monarchs just lemme know 😎
Just goes to show you can run basically anything as long as shove in the right staples to do it with. Granted, those staples can warp how some decks operate more severely than others. Not sure if dropping Ash is great with all the graveyard dumping going on, though having a bunch of stuff that can activate from grave instead might be valuable if 2 sided dumping gets too common. Funny enough, Monarch spell/traps do a decent amount of that so something this old could actually be playable by someone familiar with it.
Na. Monarch is a Anti meta deck Thats why. For example you cant play toons or evilswarm and Expect to win against tearaelements. Goes to show you that many archtypes need new support or a buff. even if you mix toons with bystialls it’s still not enough and i don’t like to throw the deck Identity away.
I topped with the deck at gc today. I’m from nyc. I went x-1, now there are some changes I’m going to make. I’m going to play three mithra because I missed the double tribute. Also one kuraz so that I. Can be able to interact with ehther when is my opponent turn. And return at three. Outside of that, the deck performed very well

I think triple Solemn Judgement is mandatory in the main deck because once they out your Domain or tributed monster it's gg. I would suggest playing Mithra because it gives you a free body on your field and at the same time the token you summon on your opponent's side stops them from using Imperm/Evenly/Lightning Storm on you and other stuff. Since Mithra is a level 2 it pairs up perfectly with a Spright engine giving you more bodies to tribute off on the field and more interruptions to stop your opponent from breaking your lock.
@@Lithium2300 Sprights are literally free special summons and interruptions + having the level 2 synergy with Eidos and Mithra. It's just my spicy idea or hot take, but Mithtra is definitely a must imo and 1 copy of unexplored winds.

@@konstantink7310 You can also cut the 3 Anchamoufrite because it can conflict with some of your monarch cards and add 1 Illusion of Chaos and 2 Magicians' Soul. Magicians' Soul is a free body to tribute, but it can also unbrick you by sending 2 spells/traps to the GY to draw 2 + it dumps Illusion of Chaos to the GY, which you can freely banish to summon a Bystial. This package is also great because if you draw Pantheism without any other Monarch Spell, you can still dump it to the GY with Magicians' Soul to draw 1 and then activate its GY effect to add the Monarch Spell of your choice (Probably Domain). You can bump this small package to 3 Magicians' Soul and 2 Illusion of Chaos if you can find the space, but the smaller ratio is also fine.
You should run more Kashtira monsters aside from Fenrir. Unicorn can get the continuous spell that gives you free tribute fodder every turn. Ogre is an honorary Monarch since its 2800/1000 so can be used to pay for some of your costs or searched.
Sadly though Ogre is the weakest out of all of them and is a searcher for their trap. I think a Kashtira mix will be more possible when we get the newer support and we can play Riseheart, Scareclaw and Tearlaments Kashtira, but at that point you might as well just play pure Kashtiras or combine them with True Dracos.
Some janky AF tech I've seen in some OCG lists is swords of concealing light. Seems like a neat way to just turn off someones whole board without letting anything hit the grave in a format where 80% of the link monsters you'll see summoned are the same 2 1400 atk ones. I have no idea if its as dumb as it sounds or not, in my own tests it was fairly effective but I also cannot pilot tear to save my life lmao.
@@stiffeification I believe the idea is basically just to stun everything until you build up a board that can deal with it with the benefit of maybe buying you an extra turn if that's not possible. The other options for full board flips are daruma cannon and book of eclipse.
I would cut allure and 1 change of heart. Maybe also cut 1/2 of the vanity fiends. They just lose to imperm, etc.. I would play Metaverse, Mystic Mine, maybe the gravekeeper fieldspell. TTT seems good too. But I am not an expert with Monarchs. What about the Skill drain from Monarchs?
@@born6743 March is not bad at 1 copy. Majesty's though is better than Vanity's because it works as target for Tenacity and can be added to your hand through Return. Seleglare is also good because of that and works as another interruption. Oh and Majesty's turns off all monster effects, which kills your opponent's handtraps when going first and going second turns off your opponent's board like a Dark Ruler.

Idk if we just picked bad replays for the sake of content but ishizu tear just looks really underwhelming here, especially where they went first and ended on rulkallos, dweller and redoer, now while endboards don't mean much, you'd expect more from the constant 40%+ representation in the ocg, although ig frog spright alongside many other decks proved that the ocg doesn't mean anything Sure, you can shuffle back a bunch of cards from the grave, but the bystials already do that, but better, and you usually won't be needing more than 1 anyway, and you also mill the opponent's deck, potentially letting them combo in the mirror, or fueling stuff like fountain, giving free advanrage to like branded or dragon link I'm sure tcg players will find ways to improve the ocg build, but danger, bystial and even spright tear all seem better

I also play only one prime , as much as that may sound weird with desires, I’m trying to minimize bricks which is the biggest weakness of the deck. Even if I do banish my one prime, monarchs have enough grind power without it. Drawing a bunch of cards off pantheism only to rip into a desires and draw even more is just nuts. The only thing that would suck is banishing all 3 pantheisms but that is highly unlikely mathematically speaking. Generally, you only activate desires after you already go full combo, so you’ve already used everything you are worried about banishing. If not, and you have to shotgun it, then it means your hand was already a brick and desires is a Hail Mary at that point. Just try it, the deck bricks to high hell and desires really helps with your actual biggest weakness. I feel like my list bricks less than the other “notoriously bricky” decks I play like virtual world, etc.
Monarchs, my beloved Monarchs, are the WORST NIGHTMARE for tier 0/1 decks. Extra Deck junkies... C'mon! Bring your all-I-have-is-a-bunch-of-hand traps decks! Monarchs will let you know why is so embarrassing to depend in something that was meant as an "extra".

All we need is a monarch you can summon on opponents turn and when summoned via tribute you can active a monarch spell/trap from deck
Maybe a thing to thibk about a lot of people also play scareclaw. This deck has a destrction trap for the fieldspell.
Bro Suggestion for side deck. A 1 gazillion procent those spell cancellers and jinzos for those pescy runick and labyrinth decks.

You still need to get rid of these monster to deal damage. I dont think is gonna work out.

@@thenightstalker6165 You already have domain to kill off their extra deck. Playing zaborg while majority of meta players have Tearlement Kitkallos, and Garura in the extra deck is asking for suicide

Play the kashtera that has monarch stats bro play it at 3. Fenrir can search it too and play 3 proof of pruflas and 2 book of moon it plays around hand traps. Take out the anchamourphrites and the bystials
