I searched for a skyblock series cause I wanted to know how to make cobble generator.

from the side, arrange the blocks like this:

ls is the lava source

fw is flowing water
ws is water source
and you need ground blocks on the sides of the lava and water (flowing and sources)

You make a 11 block line
Block 11 on the left is a solid lava non flowing
Block 10 is untouched and will be where cobble generates
From 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 you have water on the 1st block flowing towards 10th
You break the 10th and obsidian will never generate while cobble (or ore on op skyblock) will spawn

For anyone getting started with this here is just a bit of early advice.
1. Leave at least one green dirt block. You’ll need that to generate more green dirt blocks for a passive mob farm. Dirt is one of the most important resources. How weird.
2. Cobblestone generator should probably be built on the bedrock level since you can’t ever move that block.
3. Use slabs for most everything. It just saves resources. Especially for building under the tree to catch saplings in early game.
4. Go to nether early to get the second water block to have infinite water.
5. If you are playing 1.16 making a platform in the nether will spawn tons of pigmen. Good for gold. Good for trades.
6. Putting oak logs/planks/sticks to burn oak logs in furnace makes charcoal. Charcoal means more furnace fuel as well as torches.
7. Just like the nether build out a protected spawning platform in the overworld to get bones (bonemeal) and IDEALLY zombies that drop potato/carrot/iron. You can bonemeal your green dirt blocks to get grass and then seeds and then wheat and then bread. Yum.
