- This is a wonderful moist Orange Cake that's literally bursting with orange flavour in a way that you can only achieve using whole oranges - rind and all! Boiling the oranges removes the bitterness from the pith. Made with almond meal instead of flour, it's a terrific easy cake to take to gatherings because it's gluten free so everyone can enjoy it!

I tried this and it was absolutely fantastic. I did the boiling and draining of the orange three times though as it helps with removing the bitterness from the orange skin. My whole family loved this incredible recipe. Thank you so much for sharing :-)

▢2 or 3 medium oranges, fresh whole with rind on - (600g total weight)
▢6 g baking powder (BP)
▢6 large eggs , at room temp
▢250 g white sugar
▢250 g almond meal
I've made this cake several times for various gatherings and it never fails. However, rather than spending all the time boiling the oranges, I put them in the instant pot under pressure for 15 minutes. They come out soft and ready to go. I feel like this retains more of the flavor of the orange as well.
How much water did you put with your oranges?
@@ruthierubinstein6832 Sorry I missed this - I covered them with water. I don't know if that was necessary to retain their moisture, but I didn't want to take chances of drying out the rind.
Fab idea. Thx!
I made this cake for the first time last year, and it's been my favorite cake since then. Always a crowd pleaser when brought to gatherings as well. Thanks for sharing the recipe! I also love how a little bit of garnish really elevates the look of this cake, whether topped with candied orange peel, a dusting of powdered sugar, or a drizzle of icing. All are lovely!
I made this last night, followed the recipe to the letter, did the boiling 3X, it was awful! So mealy, wet and had an awful smell! My oranges weren't as orange as the ones in the video sadly, but the smelled really good. I even cooked it for about 1/2 hour longer than the 60 minutes. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was, I was salivating whilst watching the video! I went through dozens of videos before deciding on this one! I don't know what happened, I ended up throwing in in the garbage!
You are not alone I made mine today I did see your comment but still went ahead I did everything she said I boil orange 🍊 3x the cake was disgusting 🤢 I don’t get why people are saying the opposite 🤷🏻♀️
I am upset because eggs 🥚 are so expensive in NY these days not to mention almond flour too what a waste 😞
The cake is great, refreshing & gluten-free. 1st try yielded a great result. 2nd time ugly result- I think the variety/ cultivar of the orange used makes a difference. The 2nd time round the orange had a thick peel than the 1st lot of oranges used therefore it was bitter. A friend suggested to check the taste is after blending the orange puree to taste add the sugar and mix. Taste and see if it is bitter or not.
I pressure cooked the whole orange 🍊 it was perfectly sweet (no bitterness)
Thankyou so so much for sharing the best recipe ever that I hv tried so far
Lots of love ❤
Thanks so much for this recipe, just made it this morning. It came out right and taste so nice.
I made it and it comes exactly like yours. It is lovely! Everything I make following your recipes, it comes out perfectly. Thank you!
Please, could we have an orange cake recipe but with flour.
I ground my own almonds, used about a 1/2 cup almond flower, 5 eggs, 5 small mandarin oranges..... 1.5 hr total....AWESOME
This is surely worth trying....and loved the decorative orange twist !
I just found you (looking for sausage rolls). Great short, to the point videos without annoying chatter, thank you, thank you, thank you. I will be doing the sausage rolls and this cake for a party on Saturday. Now, back to binging your videos...
How amazing & delicious this looks! Gotta make it ASAP! 🍊🧡🍊

Looking so yummy, I am the one who never try different recipes but always love to watch food recipes videos 😳😳😒😒😒😒😪😪😪
Fantastic. Did you know that it works just as well with whole lemons, for a lemon cake [add some sugar though].
Really? So put in two whole lemons instead plus maybe some extra sugar? I tried it with mixed berries instead and it also turned out great now I wanted to see how it would work with lemon so thanks for your comment
I would cut off to remove the skin up to the white rind before boiling then it should taste better I would try it myself the same way with the orange.
I just made today and so loved the taste! after eating you still have orange aroma in mouth
Omg I baked this today. So damn delicious! Thank you so much!
Oh wow. Cant wait for the recipe for this. Looks sensational.
It would be helpful, if the amount of almond floursoranges
Made this today! Excellent. Super delicious and easy to make! Thanks so much for sharing!!💕👩🍳😘
Made this cake today. Great recipe. Delicious
Omg. This is so easy to make. Thank you
I love this recipe, I'm gonna try this, the cake looks impressive 🤤
Made this 2 days ago
Almost gone. Super yummy.
Thank you ❤️😘
My cake was toothpick clean in the center but it was a bit softer after cooling. The outer circle was nice. I didn’t like the softer texture that seems not baked enough. Any idea- what went wrong in my baking?
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.
Omigosh! Incredible!...and the decoration on top was so pretty too!
I take W my hat off to you - this was a delicious recipe. I made it for afternoon tea with a friend, which was a hit. Thank you very much. I wish you all the best.
Wow whole orange used instead of just orange juice!!! I definitely must try!!!
Looks delicious! 🍊
wow! came for the recipe, stayed for the production values 10/10
That looks delicious! although I have never seen an orange without pits, I will try to make this one
E X C E L E N T !!! Great recipe thank you !!!
Nice one. I'll cook this using stevia for sugar for a guilt-free cake 😋👌🏼
Hi, Nagi.
This looks amazing!
Do you have any advice on substituting sugar for alternatives for diabetics? I plan to use ‘Stevia’ but always wonder if sugar can be entirely omitted in cake making. I would use the quantity suggested on packaging but the weight and volume are much less. Cheers
Thanks for your lovely recipe, but Why you do not indicate the amount of each ingredients? I do not know how much sugar or backing power should I add or flour
Your recipes are always so creative!
Planning to make this for my husband's bday! will let you know how it goes!
Update: I made it it was a huge success definitely a repeat! Used monk sugar instead of regular sugar
Second update, I tried it again with mixed berries instead of oranges and it is dreamy!
Can someone tell which flowers/plant is it on the top/garnishing?
Tried it yesterday, very delicious 🤤 thank u
I like recipe with oranges! Thanks! So good new recipe for me!
What temperature?
Gosh, looks incredible. Made me think of a chocolate and also whole orange cake from Nigella Lawson, its a phenomenal concept with the whole fruit.
The recipe is clear and simple the family love it thank you for sharing
Can i Just eryhrit or honey instead of sugar
Love that you use oats! Thank you for your version of this.
Looks fantastic 🎉
Making this today. Wish me luck xxx
Amazing recipe
Looks delicious! Is that 60 minutes in the oven fan forced?
i would say yes, because cakes are typically baked with the fan forced setting :)
It looks simple. Gonna try
My friend shared it with me it was delicious!!!
Please anyone mention temperature......yummy recipe
Would this work as mini cakes? I want to make small versions of this. Would you just grease some cupcake tins? Fill them 3/4 of the way? I wonder if this recipe would make 12 😮
Never made orange cake....you're ON !!
I'm doing this for Christmas 😁
Please can you include the temperature of oven. I see in some replies below other people have asked and still no answer😔
Confused! No temperature given and bake time is different in one part it says bake for 60 minutes and in another part it says bake for 1 hour 3o minutes, big difference 🤔 I currently have it in a fan oven at 160 will let you know how it goes
Ya exactly, ingredients quantity is important in cake baking, so is the temperature....
I had to bake mine 1 hour and 30 min
AWESOME. EXCELLENT
this looks Delicious.
my oven highest is 230 degrees, may I know how long should I bake?
How much almond flour sugar and baking powder for how long to bake ? Why no recipe ?
Wow So Good 👍💞
Thank you so much.
See you Again 🤗
Looks lovely💕
Replacement of egg?
Can you replace almond flour with oat flour?
It looks perfect 👍
Am I the only one missing quantities of the products used and temperature of the oven ? instructions unclear
How much flour and how much sugar please?
Both 250g
Made this yesterday. Did not turn out well. Quite dense. This may be because I used coconut sugar but then again I replace white sugar with coconut sugar in every dessert I've made and haven't had any issues. Perhaps density could be due to oversizing of eggs, i'm not sure.
All in all, happy the recipe worked for others.
Looks delicious!
Can I replace almond flour with plain flour ?
What is the measurement for almond flour and for sugar
Why wasn't there any seed in the orange 😍😍...
What should be the temperature of the oven? I checked the recipe 3 times it is not mentioned there.
I found this on her site.Preheat oven to 160°C/320°F (140°C fan).
Amazing
Can I use a normal food blender?
Can you tell me Which machine do you use?
What could you substitute for the eggs for someone with an allergy? Thanks!
Condensed milk works in some recipes.
Flax seed meal, with a lil water, eg 1 tablespoon water to each tablespoon flax seed. I used 3. Turned out great. Chia seeds would also work. Vegan friendly.
Can I use oat flour instead of almond
Top art
Can you use honey instead of sugar
Merci
Thanks for sharing, the orange flavor come out of the cake is soooo good.
Why do you boil the oranges?
im just making it today
Where are the quantities 😢

Hi! Do you have to remove the seeds from the oranges before processing?
Of course
can you double this recipe? on a larger cake tin off course?
Awesome, may i know your food processor name?
Looks delicious, can you please tell the quantity of the ingredients you used.?
The recipe is in the provided link. Albeit, I am using my computer and had to scroll down quite a lot. I imagine if using a mobile phone, you will have a lot of scrolling to do to find it.
Hi. Looks good. You said 60 minutes on the oven, but at what temperature? And the amount of sugar and almond flour?
I still don't have a reply from the baker of this recipe
I am looking for same thing, how much of everything?
@@pinagagliano3928 320 deg F

I di from time to time. 😁👋 from Dublin
The cake looks beautiful but omg that's a lot of sugar! Can the sugar be reduced?
Why not try it.
My son has nuts allergy. What can I replace for almond flour please? Really want to make it
I’m sure you can make it with regular flour! 😊
Check the link to the recipe page, Nagi often gives substitutes in the recipe notes.
Almond flour is flour.
Could you please share the exact amount of ingredients? I could not find them in the description of the recipe, which is quite annoying... why share a recipe if amount of ingredients are kept a secret? Looks delicious though...

Kindly give the recipe with ingredients. Thank u.
No salt?
Recipe?
Where are the ingredients listing ?
Looks good. I make a version of this except it’s also sugar free and is heavy on the dark chocolate flavour as well as spiced with cardamom, ginger and cinnamon.
I’m not much of a sweet tooth and prefer savoury.
Sound wonderful! Can you share your savory recipe? Thanks!
