Thank you to all of my super awesome patrons for joining me on THIS unexpected journey and thank YOU for watching!
"I See Fire" is the sequel to this. Same characters.
In this left to right.... Thorin, Bofur, Killi and Filli.
In I See Fire left to right...
Filli, Bofur, Killi and Thorin.
It's not better than "Way Down," it's on par with, IMO! Now you should check out "I See Fire!" The dwarves are back! (Oooh, first comment again!)
I second "I See Fire"! Probably one of my very FAVES of his! That and "16 Tons"
@@Hwyla-qp5lv Best one to show his high range, I feel. I don't know the notes, but I feel like (and I may be wrong) he gets higher in that one than any other...except the "Peaches" short.
Great! Now you need to do I See Fire. Geoff brings back these same characters, same hair pieces even.
Yes, they used some of these costume pieces fo VoicePlay's My Mother Told Me and its sequel, Valhalla Calling.
My favorite depends on my mood. But if I had to pick only one... Monster Mash. It was my first Geoff experience, which then led me to VoicePlay.
@@shirleykarr560 Oh, that one is delightful! See, it's JUST so hard to pick one! Impossible, really! They're all so good! Another one I watched a lot is "Folsom Prison Blues" and shared it with a family friend who was just amazed by Geoff. It is in my top five! Home Free does an excellent cover of it too.
You should watch Peter Barbers interview of Geoff.
Those three low notes? All the same pitch, sung in three different ways. One reactor played it 10 times before he could speak, and then he could only say goodbye.
I'll repeat, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
I agree that "The Hobbit' movies were so inferior to The Lord of the Rings movies. That said, I much prefer Geoff's performance of "I See Fire" from the second Hobbit movie to this song. I just think I See Fire is a superior song and is just a much more emotional listening experience for me, hope you will check it out sometime as well.
This is taken from nearly the beginning. Gandalf and the Dwarves take over Bilbo's house. The Dwarves sing it at the table.
I hope you have a chance to check out his cover of Wicked Game - that is my current favorite!
I hope Geoff's ,I see fire ,is on your list
The next one you do is I See Fire, same characters. I think I need to choose - uh - Jack's Lament.
Jack’s Lament, Saddle Up and Unshaken are all must watch imo! But if I had to pick ONE…Sixteen Tons.
Geoff pertrays four of the Dwarves in thus song.
I think the song is actually in the book but as a poem (or at least a version they took the sing from) before they start the journey. Now i have an excuse to read the book again 😁 Thanks.
I do agree the book is better.
Thanks for the reaction.
If I had to choose I'd say I See Fire is currently my favorite. But Folsom Prison doesn't get enough attention in my opinion.
And Unshaken is song by the Clones without Geoff 🤣🤣😄 (loophole 😂)
This is often guys' favorite, because, low notes. We not-guys like Sixteen Tons (sex appeal) or Monster Mash (dance moves!), although mine may be The Rains of Castamere because it sounds gorgeous and that LEATHER OUTFIT. 🥴😵
Currently I think I See Fire is my favorite Geoff song.
I have trouble picking a favorite but i think you will like his version of Man Of Constant Sorrow. I love it as much as Country Roads maybe you will too 😊
Agree!!!
I think "Saddle Up" is my top favorite followed closely by whatever he just did...or "Mele Kalikimaka" actually depends on the day and mood really. Really enjoying your reactions.
Impossible to choose an all time forever favorite of Geoff’s. But because I love the song so much and you were so ADAMANT I choose only 1, I choose Shenandoah.
Fun fact about the original of this song: the score for the movie wasn’t scheduled to be written until long after the scene in Bilbo’s house was filmed. So a couple in NZ was contacted to compose the song. They wrote 8 versions and sent them all in to let Peter Jackson choose.
Whatever he has done recently is my fave for a while, but I come back to this every time. The sloe sonorous tone, the lovely harmonies, the strings and.. Tolkien. But I love his cover of I See Fire, Wicked Game, and Shenandoah.
Wow. The closing my eyes thing made me feel like an electric current was going through me!
Please Pretty Please check out Geoff's cover of the Beatles "Blackbird" Thanks again for Geoff week!
Geoff can grow a beard, yes. He doesn't want to though.
Since his beard is almost completely gray now, he says this about growing a beard:
"I'd look like Santa if Santa stopped eating cookies and started doing jazzercise" -Geoff Castellucci.
😅😅
You mean Kathy doesn’t want him to grow a beard….which of course does mean that Geoff doesn’t want to. 😏
@@Gael4ce haha... she has said she does prefer him without a beard. but Geoff also feels the gray beard makes him look older, which he doesn't seem to want right now 😄
@@huldradraco Did you see the live feed for the Ghost Riders video when someone asked Kathy if she had to choose between Geoff growing a full beard or him cutting off his hair, which would she choose?
The look of pure horror that went across Kathy’s face…..😆
@@Gael4ce lol, I sure did 😄😄 I felt bad for her having to choose 😂😂
@@huldradraco Oh I laughed so hard at her expression….I mean…I felt kinda bad…but I still laughed. I’m laughing just remembering her all like 😳. From what I saw in Misty Mountains though, there are some beard styles Geoff could slay. The version on the far left is the one I’m thinking of.
Well, I have to be the odd man out here. I actually liked the Hobbit trilogy better than the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Be that as it may, Geoff is just awesome.
Oh, man. If I could only choose one Geoff song … it just might be his latest, Unshaken. I’m biased, because the video game that song is from is my absolute favorite. But, genuinely, Geoff does an incredible job with it. Makes me tear up every time I hear it.
I just commented on an earlier video to suggest Misty Mountains Cold, if you hadn't heard it yet. Just now saw you had indeed reacted to it already. I love both the original version from the Hobbit movies & Geoff's cover of it. The original version was actually sung by Billy Boyd who played Peregrine "Pippin" Took in the movies and they only had about a 2 hr window in which to get it recorded. I know you don't like the movies, but you can pull up Billy Boyd's version of this song for comparison. It's quite good, too. Thanks for your reaction.
