This was song #22 of 23 at their Line Cube Shibuya concert back in Feb 2020 so you definitely see their high energy, talent, endurance, and dedication to their fans.
Good lord I would have not made it... but when you play with so much power it seems easy! but it's very hard thing to do!. I loved this one!
Many fans with musical background comment that they find something interesting with every repeat listening.
I am far from skilled musician but I appreciate music and talent and hard work that's put into songs.

For some sick extended drum solo, try Freedom live. That is a fantastic showcase of Achi's skills. MISA (bass) plays pick, finder and slap. Wildly versatile and a master at switching mid song.

Loving your reactions and appreciation of the maids' supreme talents. 🤘 This performance of DOMINATION was the 22nd song of their 23 song set and begins with a segue that is the dying away of the last note of the previous song PLAY. 🤘At 2:15 - MISA, the bassist, Kanami the lead guitarist and composer, and Miku the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, are playing Hengao - "strange faces" - with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. At 2:58 - MISA the bassist is holding her plectrum in her curled finger so she can produce it and switch from slapping to picking in half a nanosecond! (which you spotted!) At 3:43 - Akane the drummer hitting two separate beats on her double kick pedals while simultaneously continuing the song melody on her snare, toms and cymbal. At 7:13 - a brief glimpse of Kanami laying down one sweet rolling chord pattern - pure class.
I am just glad I had headphones around because I would been missing out a lot of details!

Misa has a magic trick. She can tuck her pick between her index finger and palm to go back and forth between picking and slap & pop. There is a short interview clip where she demonstrates her hybrid picking technique. The interviewer asked her what happens if she drops the pick and she replied "I never drop it". That is confidence.
That’s what I thought!!!! I noticed both styles but I wasn’t sure !
@@dejzmi7089 Misa can switch from one to the other very quickly. There are a few songs where she plays finger pluck style bass too. No particular style is off the table for Misa. She has said that she used the downtime during the covid pandemic to practice parts of songs that were difficult and to improve her overall skill.

Misa has learned the magic trick of palming her pic, so she can switch between picking the bass, and plucking or slapping it. And she can do that so fast that she can go back and forth almost every note. Plus if you look close on some songs she is actually picking and plucking at the same time. While picking a couple of strings she sometimes is also slapping a string with her little finger. Also, the music video of this does not have the mini solos by each of them. That' something they add to some songs for the live shows to give their fans a bonus for coming to the show.
It seems like it was happening in this performance ! That switch up is just a small but huge flex at the same time of the craftsmanship. The bass players sometimes get ignored but I notice in every song I've heard so far each one of them can be heard through and through!

I've followed you in your BAND-MAID journey from the first video to this one. And I should say, your joy and excitement are SOOOOO infectious! Thanks a lot for starting your reaction channel, and it's really nice that you so quickly discovered BAND-MAID through it!
UA-cam is actually pushing to you a lot of wonderful videos. Like, I see the instrumental version of DOMINATION on the screen. There are other videos like this as well, the fans usually call them "White Room Instrumentals." Those were meant to be the training videos for those who want to cover their songs, I guess. For each song, it's a set of five videos: the versions focusing on each member, and then there is a video where all four instrumentalists appear together. If you see them in the suggestions, don't miss the opportunity to check them. You'll be amazed at how much is happening behind Saiki's vocals.
Also, I see that UA-cam offered you my own fancam of DOMINATION 😁 Of course, fancams are, for the most part, attractive only to those who have been at that particular show, or to the die-hard fans who have already seen all the official material, and want to see the rough recording "from the air" of an actual live performance, without any post-production or embellishment. But I should say, some of the fancams turned out to be surprisingly good. I was using the best phone I could find on the market, with the best audio recording capabilities. Of course, it's nowhere near the studio or official live quality, but may still be interesting.

I am trying to stay still and not look like maniac on camera specially since I am introverted... but one of the reasons I enjoy this , is I can relax and enjoy music and really enjoy it but also helps with not being introvert as much.
It's clear that all the members have the highest level of skill, but please pay attention to the wonderful movements of the singer. In any case, this group is one of the best groups in the world right now. They have over 130 original songs, and there are no duds. Please enjoy the official video.
Singing these songs for live shows over 3+ hours is not an easy thing to do at all! I feel like I wouldn't talk to anybody after 3 hour show because my voice would be GONE! Definitely going to check out MV!

Thanks for nice reaction and for support the Band Maid. However, If you like strictly power and thrash metal music, there is another fantastic all -female Japanese band called Lovebites, five ladies extremely talented and skillful. I suggest you take a look at their YT channel where you will find all the videos you want, even the very recent ones (I recommend "Soldier stands solitarily" LIVE). Personally I am a fan of both Band Maid and Lovebites, according to their different musical genre

@@dejzmi7089 If you mean Bnd-Maid then they did a USA tour last year. Lovebites are actually on tour right now in the USA, for the first time. They killed it across numerous Metal fests in the summer here in Europe.
The problem I have with people saying they're going down the pigeonhole is that Band Maid can absolutely not be pigeonholed. They are like the antonym of pigeonholed. So there now I said it.

Sadly, though, I already knew what it meant. Still, if you enjoy English lessons so much, I suppose we could look at your use of the phrase "They are like the antonym of pigeonholed." I would suggest removing the unnecessary and confusing 'like' (as it infers 'similarity to' or, worse, it is used as, like, a filler) as it would help the sentence become clearer but more importantly - as the antonym of 'pigeonholed' is to 'lump', 'confuse' or 'jumble' - I think what you probably meant to use was the word 'antithesis' "a person or thing that is the direct opposite of someone or something else". Now you have seen Miku (rythm guitar) ripping it with Kaname (lead guitar) you could should treat your self to Band-Maids first ever MV, Thrill.
It was just a b-side and not written by them, but they preferred it because it was more the rock direction they wanted to go. Unknown to the girls their management was planning to drop them after this last attempt at success. This vid save the band and set them off on the road to where they are now.
Miku could not play guitar (or any instrument) and just used it as a prop. Basicly a huge necklace. Watch Thrill then watch her again as she Dominates her stringy thing.
