Thanks, now I can take my mavic with me for my upcoming trip! Fan got stuck and it overheated, the grill behind the camera had bulcked inn and stopped the fan, easy fix free of charge :)
with one eye watching your video and my other on my MP, I succeeded in changing damper board and fan for a total cost of 35 euro. 1. I saved a lot of money 2. I know it is well done . After all if you take your time and preparation it is not that difficult. 3. I am a lot more confident if this would happen again. Thx.
Thank you so much, I've seen quite a few break down videos for the Mavic Pro, hands down best and most descriptive, without being slow and boring. Even bigger thanks for the knowledge of that drop hook, and follow up question. While back, had the lens motor go bad, which controls focus (didn't know it existed until after week of research) I just replaced whole camera. Everything worked great again, until I had a bit of hard landing couple weeks ago. Everything was fine for a couple days, then I lost my video feed. Camera still does it's dance when turned on, will run through a gimbal calibration, it will even take a still shot and record it to the SD card, but no live image on my Ipad. If I switch it to video, the record button is greyed out and it won't start recording. The vision cameras/sensors all appear to be working fine, fan is still working but have not checked temps. So I happened to notice where the drop hook should have been, there was nothing, although until just watching your video, couldn't figure out if there was supposed to be something there or not, on mine there was just two holes and a flat rectangle plate, which I now assume is the base of the drop hook. So after my long winded explanation..... 1) Could that drop hook have anything to do with my live feed, haven't taken it apart yet, but all the ribbon cables seem to be in place. 2) I know the drop hook probably isn't too costly, but I use a product called Sugru on a lot of my racing quads, for fixes, it's like a mold-able play dough type substance, that after 24 hours dries, not completely solid, it's the strength or feel of a car tire if you cut a chunk out. Do you think that could work, or is it a pretty intricate part? Thanks in advance for any advice, happy flying! ✌️
I don't think the drop hook has anything to do with the actual issue. Rather I believe the hook breaking means a strong impact. If picture is good but video is not I would hazard to guess some part or a whole ribbon cable maybe the issue.
@@ryanbiscobarnes,......Ok, yeah, that makes sense. I'll finally have some time to work on it this weekend, I am guessing it's one of two things. Eitherthe one of the many, tiny metal wires that come from the camera to one of the ribbon cables is broke or damaged, or when I get it apart, one of the four ribbon cables connectors you showed, where 2 have adhesive on them, popped loose on a the hard landing. When I replaced camera, didn't reapply any adhesive. I'll let you know when I find the issue, thanks sooo much for the quick response!
Amazing video, you save me a lot of money for fixing my crashed drone.. The only thing I did different was at the end I connect the cable first before closing the drone, this make it easier for me. Thanks
Hi Ryan Thanks for your video, I have just replaced my fan thanks to your help. I have it flying also. Just one question ?,, do I need to apply rubber type glue to camera connection. Camera seems fine at the moment,, Anthony
RyanBiscoBarnes I thought that my fan did not work after the exchange, but I waited too short, everything worked thanks to your video. Thank you very much!
I am looking similar video to replace imu unit. Is there any you are aware of ? Also what was the reason your old fan didn't spin ? the old fan looks fine. Also did you also replace the thermal paste in it ?
Hello, I have big problems with my Mavic Pro, I crashed in to bridge and the river and after the cleaning with fresh watter and drying my Mavic wont start, battrry is On but Mavic Wont start. What could be the problem I opened when I cleaned but the parts are ok, I think that is no power from batterry to motherbord. I don't know what to do :(
Hard to say. Try putting the unit in a bag of rice...yes thats correct. The rice will dry out any moisture remaining in the unit. LKeave it for a full week. Watch that no grains of rice go into anywere they shouldn't. After a week try to boot up the drone. If this doesn't work open up the unit and make sure all the cables/ribbons are attached securely. After that I'm not sure were to go from there.
RyanBiscoBarnes hi I have drone but I don’t know which one.can u help me about it please coz my fun is not working don’t know it is pro or pro 2 to I buy fan please help me thank you
Hello, Ryan! My Mavic is with an error 1112. I can't activate it to fly. Suport DJi said he can't activate it because they reported it as a transport robbery, I was tricked by a salesman, I lost my money. Do you think if I change the logic board this problem can be solved? Thank you!
I JUST CRASHED MY MAVIC PRO INTO THE GROUND GOING FULL SPEED IN SPORT MODE LIKE TWO FEET OFF THE GROUND. NOW I NEED TO REPLACE THE GIMBAL MOTOR RIBBON AND THE COOLING FAN AS WELL AS THE DROP HOOKBOARD

Really good vid- nothing extra, just the stuff I need. Didn't even know that's where fan is! Thank you!
Sir, it has been a great help! For that, thank you very much!
Glad it helped!
Excellent video
Thank you Captain, salute
Hey Ryan, thanks for the video. It helped me. You explained it very well. Greetings from Germany
Thanks so much. There was no specific video showing these items being repaired so I thought I would film it.
Any suggestions regarding VISION POSITION SENSOR? Mine makes noise
Sorry no idea
great vid. thanks
Thank you - great video
Hi ... did you know how turn off or stop mavic pro 2 fan control??
Sorry...NO
Hi. Cooling starts almost immediately after the drone is paired with the app. Is this correct?
I don't think that was uncommon.
Hi Ryan
Thanks for your video, I have just replaced my fan thanks to your help. I have it flying also. Just one question ?,, do I need to apply rubber type glue to camera connection. Camera seems fine at the moment,,
Anthony
I never did (though I thought about it) and Ive had no issues yet.
What should I do if I have replaced the fan but do not want to switch it on?
the whole drone doesn't turn on or just the fan?

@@alexanderdoest9655 I thought mine didn't work either but waited some more and then the fan started.
Hy ryan, is the fan you replaced still working after a year? Thanks for the video!
Yes
Thanks for video,, how was the flying after repair 👍
No issue, and fan still working fine.

Not sure about a video on that. My fan just stop spinning. No I did not replace the thermal paste.
@@ryanbiscobarnes never mind. fixed it after changing the imu module. your teardown does help me :)

awesome...subs, sharing and wondering would you have or

I can't answer that for you. What I would say is if the cost of the board is low/reasonable then give it a try.
Gps is on top of gimble
