I remember playing this when it first came out and always wondered why a smurf with space helmet was the final unlockable character, if I'm remembering right.
Geez, those environments... And saying it was the early days of 3D gaming doesn't give this game a pass - 3D gaming was at least 9 years old by that point. Even if we're being generous, the PS1 released in '94; that's still 7 years. It had time to get its sh...tuff together. Also, yes, you need to check out Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue! It is hilarious! I know there various uploads of it on UA-cam, but I'll see if I can find a physical copy, as well
If it was brighter it would have helped it immensely. Not sure why it is so dark. Yeah, I figured I was being VERY generous with the 3D timeline given that PS1 came out in 94. Thanks man! I actually ended up ordering a copy of it, I should get it tomorrow. I can't believe I never saw it, it sounds insane lol.
The Smurfs has a brand new kart racer called Smurfs Kart that came out in November of last year. It's way better than the 1st game. I just hate that it only has 12 maps.
Tracks looks decent ... Karts on the other hand are like bare uninspired blocks. We got like Crash Kart racing that had amazing graphics. for PS1 and kart Designs.
The tracks are acceptable, but fall short compared to other games from that time. Especially comparing to a game like Crash Kart like you said which came I think 3 years earlier. Even compared to earlier Infograme games it doesn't hold up lol.
I loved this game! When you play as an adult vs a kid it’s wayyy different!

That's awesome that you played it! Yeah, Astro Smurf lol. Think you have to complete all championship courses to unlock.

They did! I mention it in the video, I’ve been wanting to check it out. Graphically it does look pretty nice.

It looks terrible... I really want to try it 😅
