Watching this makes me appreciate my Limited 2011 much more! Have been owning it for over half a year and put more than 6000 miles (mostly highway) on it. It is truly a wonderful cruiser for the price! Smooth V6, super comfy seats, great sound system. If you live in cities with potholes everywhere, the Avalon is a great choice, it rides super soft. And of course, you can always roll up the rear peasant blocker if you don't like the person behind you lol
just bought this 2012 avalon with the same color like 2 days ago after watchin your review i don`t like 2013 -2018 shapes this is a classic shape with lots of class.
I like cars with subwoofers so that I don't get a subwoofer cabinet for the trunk to avoid taking space on my gears when it comes taking my music gear at gigs
Avalon 2012 is one of the best cars that you always dreamed of owning, a beautiful, rare and elegant car. I wish I could go back in time and get a 2012 Avalon
I too, have always loved the Avalon. My friends in college used to say, "how can you want a grandpa car??" to which I would answer, "because I know I'll be driving that car, until I become a "grandpa" myself!!" Lol Awesome video, and I have to say, you're super handsome and that makes the videos even better!! 👍🏼
@@hemra8963 as far as real world maintenance goes would you recommend this as a first car? I say this because i always viewed the Avalon as a Lexus with a Toyota badge (higher maintenance).
My 2005 XLS avalon works great, lots of leg room and plenty of power. Many folks consider this ride geriatric-mobile but I don't care, still enjoy taking long trips along California coast. Awesome, thorough review of my favorite car. Keep up the great job of reviewing cars. Cheers.
I thought so too! I decided at the last minute to put that first in the video and I am glad I did! Thank you for the contribution and stopping by!!!! Have a wonderful day! Brock
Avalon has only one weakness - it corners like a boat. In every other sense, this is a perfect car. Just beware that it will need OEM Toyota ignition coils, other than that aftermarket parts work well and the engine is very reliable (early years are known to burn oil but it was minimal for my 2006). 2011/12 is definetly the best year for the car in terms of comfort and luxurious feel. Limited edition is the way to go, perforated leather is a thing of beauty.
I have a 2012 Toyota Avalon Limited in the Pearl color with Ivory seats. I love my "Pearly Girl" as I call her. I have test driven the newer models but I will stick with my Pearly Girl. Right now she has 54K miles on her. She is a smooth car with a beautiful look. No problems with her at all. My fiance who is an ASE Master Tech put a Super Charger in her a couple years ago. Her HP is off the chain now. She floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee! I had an Alfa and an Accord before her. She also has Pirellis. I prefer her by far. I am the Proud owner of an AMAZING car! Toyota rocks!
Every time l get some crazy notion to sell my beautiful 2011 limited, it takes me about one day to realize that this is the nicest l have ever owned and if l want to get a car for taking long trips, l can't beat what l already have! It runs perfect approaching 200k and l absolutely love the "ole grandpa" long body. Get one, you'll love it. ✅️
I was looking for an Avalon and was sad to see that this is the last one before the design update. This has to be the only time I’ve said that the new designs are blatantly uglier that the older one. These 2012 is the newest Avalon I’d be willing to buy.
The quality of the buttons on the dashboard, next to the screen and the ones on the steering wheel are very high-quality. Great attention-to-detail Toyota put into the Avalon
Thank you, this is one of the best tutorials I've seen on this car. Most important, this is one of the most intelligent approaches to explaining it with minimal opinion, bias. I get tired of hearing these guys compare it to fancier sport cars when they're not even in the same class. I'd consider choosing this over the 2011 Avalon and I notice the backup camera has all the lines versus the 2011 but I could be wrong. But either way, thank you for this video...and no, I'm not an old guy who likes old guy cars, as those other reviewers would say. :)
The 2012 Avalon limited was my first Avalon. I've had a '14; '16; and now a 2018 limited. The 2012 was the best out of the four. I do not like the 2019 so I guess that is it for me. All good things come to an end! Thank you for a great review on the 2012 limited.
I love how you have been able to experience all those years of Toyota greatness! I am also super grateful that a Toyota aficionado enjoyed my video - truly means a lot!
@@thecarelectronicguy687 yes I noticed the difference in ride... I have a 13 Toyota Avalon hybrid Limited... The ride is a little too harsh for me so I went to the dealership and got shocks and struts for a 16 model year... it's roughly $1,800 with alignment out the door sure beats trading in for a softer ride 2012 Avalon
Great review. I've got an '09 and I love it. I've driven it to Texas and New York with zero problems. Normal maintenance and that's been it. Great car for tall drivers. I'd be curious to hear from owners who have had this body style and the newer body style. I'd like a '12 for my next one....if I ever need it.
I've owned a 2007 Avalon xls...been thinking of trading up for a 2012 it's just hard to let go...my 2007 has 105000 miles an still runs flawless..Toyota is a gift an a curse it's so darn hard to move on lol
Thank you so much for this video it is very detailed and hands on.... The way you explained everything for someone like me who doesn't really know much about vehicle's (because I'm newly licensed) can appreciate a video just like this so thank you... LOL, classic when you suddenly stopped and mentioned the humidity with you sweating and the glasses. The odd part is if you want to call it that, is you for actually myself couldn't tell you were sweating and flustered, if I may. If you read this I hope you're still being the silly goofy dude that you are. Own it. Great video my friend from a car as I just bought an 2008 Limited about 6 months ago... Appreciate you 🌟
Wow, several changes between the 12 and 13 but then I have the touring and not the limited. Leased a 13 but decided to buy it since it only has 11,000 miles. Didn’t think I’d return to the sandbox and wanted a car as close to the Lexus LS 460 and for a daily driver. Came back over within 6 months. But just purchased a 2014 LS460 and not sure what I’ll do with the Avalon. Avalon for daily driver, LS for trips? Both have under 12k on the clock and are fantastic machines.
Great review the best since the car came out, but i would love if u discussed the maintenance tab more cause it’s a little bit confusing to me. Good review though.
Every 50 000 km do a partial transmission fluid change. Every 100k flush the coolant, power steering and brake fluid and service the calipers/change the spark plugs. As the car gets older, start doing oil changes more frequently with a high quality synthetic, and that's about it for regular maintenance.

It's a 6 speed automatic The horsepower is to 268
The HP discrepancy was to get around US Govt regulations..

Nice car!
Does the JBL sound system have a subwoofer?
My solara has the Jbl system and the bass is phenomenal there is a subwoofer somewhere in the car im assuming, there has to be.
Its getting humid over there ha come to florida
WHEW! I would MELT in Florida! I have taken my family to Sanibel Island a couple of times. Love that place!
Jack Destefano I'm in Central FL and it's brutal

How much for this car?
That's a very good example of a great family car, great engine and gear box.

By the way, you look pretty good with the beard...
I love the engine and tranny too! Goes on very smoothly for a very long time! Thank you for noticing the beard. It's getting pretty itchy!
I believe the Aurion is the equivalent to the Camry but the Aurion looks a little more upscale than the camry does. I like it!
How come 280 hp i thought it was 266 hp
They did that to get around Govt regulations. But shhhh don't tell anyone..lol.
hmmm..maint. schedule on my avalon says change oil every 10,000 miles
Still in my country expensive new models price very close if has a new body price 30,000 dollars USA and new model 2020 31,000 dollars USA
Looking to buy another car, what websites do you recommend? I've been looking at Cargurus.com and Autotrader.com
You have picked the two that I would use. AutoTrader.com is a very reputable site.
05 Avalon is 280 but 06 to 18 268

LS430 all the way.
