Ну и корпус воздушного фильтра за кампанию - чтоб потом лохмотья отслоившейся краски в карбюратор летели. Доукомплектовать фильтром и армстартером - а зачем? В общем, офигенное восстановление. Для сдачи в чермет.
I started buying and fixing old GX engines during the first UK lockdown. I'm yet to find one that wasn't repairable. They are absolutely brilliant engines to work on and so easy to fix.
Keep doing it those that judge your work have clean hands they buy new never thinking about how things like this got us where we are now.The Old Deserve Respect!
If he really respect the old, he would at least check the clearance on those valves. He only cares for adsense which is why you see rtv for cylinder head gasket.
@TheHardiya everything in this video wrong. Impact gun on bolts going into aluminum, rtv head gasket, who paints a flywheel?, sand paper in the cylinder going vertical so he scratched the hell out of it absolutely wrecking the oil seal, put a heavily scarred piston back in, painted non prepped plastic (the air intake) so now it's gonna flake off in no time. Plus when he rotated it by hand before starting it, you could hear how crunchy it sounded. You could see it smoking from burning oil and he never put a breather hose on it from the valve cover to the intake elbow. It's a barely running piece of scrap metal
I agree, the rings should have been changed. In all honesty, the tolerances should have been measured. IMO, the piston, rings, connecting rod should have been replaced. If you look at frame 15:48 or when you see the rod being put back in the engine, the rod bearing surface is shot. BTW, these don’t have rod bearings. Nice job making it look nice, but the engine won’t last if it lasted an hour or less of run time I’d be surprised. You can see and hear, that engine isn’t happy

Restoration is subjective. Turning an engine from an unworking filthy water contaminated hulk of scrap to an engine that works is restoring it, it may not be your vision of restoration, but it is restoration. The bearings sounded mostly fine. The rings were obviously a bit worn, but with the amount of pitting on the cylinder walls, changing them would be pointless. You can reuse graphite head gaskets on small engines if they're not damaged. The only thing that sounded bad enough to worry about is the centripetal clutch.

Well folks, If you are broke in the US or live where he lives... with only what he has, this is how you do it. His Befoe and after is a bitch to look at. It looks good and it runs well. This man fed his family well on this work. It is the buyer's problem after that. It is a nice hustle. Well done Moe
Hey buddy, You always do a great job of everything you rebuilt!! years and i mean years a go hahaha This old man had this Tecumseh gas engine Now that I'm older or old it look like a 2/12 horse He started that engine on his work bench ( not BOLTED DOWN! ) and it didn't move any where that little engine didn't even vibrate So he got a glass of water and set it on the engine head and that water didn't vibrate! it ran so smooth!!
отвратительная работа, посадка под сальники не отполированна, люфт шатуна не проверен, плоскость не притёр, посадил на еб*чий герметик, и регулятор оборотов стоит мёртво- он его не настоил, хода тяги нет- карбюратор богатит как с*ка. Я эти моторы ремонтирую не один год, одной рукой без глаз разберу и соберу. Его реставрация лажа полнейшая
All great and that good job but i am not a fan of that head gasket 😬😬 a lot of this also looks very bodged, you could of got some cut out gasket or smothing. Like bruh where is the carb gasket, you are also missing the breather pipe that goes from the valve cover to the carb
Buenas noches, si es tan amable en ayudarme o informar porque mi motor Honda GX240 4tiempos estaba trabajando y de repente se apagó y revisando se encuentra libre el arranqué donde calza el yoyo, el yoyo está bueno, es donde calza el yoyo que se liberó y no tranca para dar el arranque está liberado da vuelta libremente, con su experiencia que será la falla.
This engine is not going to last if it’s used for anything other than a display yes I may run now but under load it’s not going to hold up scaring on the connecting rod and piston you didn’t reface the valves or replace the head gasket and intake gaskets other than that good job it went back together correctly
Buenas amigo tengo un motor Honda GX240 4 tiempos estacinario a gasolina estaba trabajando cuando de repente sonó un golpe y se apagó revisando la falla observe que había doblado y fracturado una válvula, me podría dar una opinión el motivo por la cual se doblo y fracturó dicha válvula incluso partio la culata del porta válvula y el pistón recibió un Rayón dejó marcado el redondo de la válvula, así podría trabajar dicho pistón o se tiene que reemplazar

You didnt change main bearings,piston rings,putting old head gasket....that isn't restoration...only cleaning engine

@@Bulletman426 yeah. Replacement conrods, gaskets etc are all pretty cheap too. And spraying it silver ffs! Horrible.
funny he put grease on the crank shalf bearings. lol. those swims in oil, in the crankcase. lol
anyway great COSMETIC restoration.

Don't worry when oil is added, grease definitely will be washed out
