It was so odd to me to have an episode where Rory and Paris go back to Chilton but not show Madeline or Louise and have some rando pretend to be Tristan. Then again nothing in the revival seemed to serve any purpose beyond endless frustration.
@@Nocturne22 Shelley Cole (Madeline) was up for it, they even interviewed her as part of the promotion for the revival. However the production team found Teal Redmann (Louise) impossible to contact.
I always thought it was because at this particular point in the story, Jess is probably still in that stage where Rory is vaguely worried she's going to hear that he died in a ditch somewhere. You know, because she cares. And Jess really did drop jaws by eventually turning out so well in the end.

I think that Paris really never dated a teacher, its just that Paris said she did in this specific conversation, and so for Paris to save face with Loieese, Rory wrote that it actually happened and used her experiences dealing with a funeral to plagiarize what Paris's experience. Nope, that's all from one episode from the season that jumped the shark. The first two seasons are SO much better (and more...innocent?) and much more centered around a mother-daughter relationship and small town life. Then, the daughter goes to college, starts spending all her time with shallow rich kids, and the whole show becomes idiotic.

Louise was there, she got into an argument with Paris in the bathroom.
The fact that Rory immediately thought of Jess instead and totally seemingly forgot about Dean, who Louise would know.
Jess was more recent and she dated both in high school.
