Extracting honey in my first season was easier than I expected. The bees have been super productive as you saw, which meant we got almost 4 liters of honey in the end. I'm glad my neighbour has bees too as he lended us his honey extractor to get the job done easier. Extracting honey from my first hive went smoothly, and the clean up was easy since the bees did it for me. My first honey harvest came sooner than I thought and though some gadgets were handy during the harvest, others seemed too messy. Now that I feel I have done most parts of bee keeping I have decided that honey harvesting is the least fun part, it's slow and sticky. Sure it is rewarding, but seeing the bees definitely can't be beat.
