Forget rock stars, movie starts and footballers. This man is a real hero and someone we should all learn from and strive to emulate. What a legend.

Usually I laugh at preppers because it seems like all the situations they are afraid of seems VERY improbable but the more I think about it I think I'm starting to understand it's not "What's going to happen?" but more of a "Am I ready for anything?" I guess prepping isn't as dumb as I originally thought.

My 9 year old granddaughter loves the show Alone about survival in the wilderness with minimal supplies, my daughter told her they can practice survival (they live in the Rocky Mountains) and now grandma has to learn too!

"I'd like her to be resilient, know how to look after herself, if need be, not be seen as well"
As a Father to a little girl probably the same age as your daughter, and with a background in boxing/mma, this hit close to home. This tells me, Jake really understands the importance and appreciates that his daughter isn't going to have the brawn & muscles to necessarily protect herself against all outsiders, however she WILL have the brains, and as any fighter knows, a smart fighter is a dangerous fighter. Brains over brawns, always.
Any child would be proud to call you their Father mate, she's lucky to have you as I'm sure you feel you are to her. All the best, from QLD.

What an amazing skill set he has given his daughter. Hoping nothing ever happens, but if it does she will be leaps and bounds ahead of most adults in terms of survival skills. Thanks for sharing.

Real man scared of his fellow Australians, watched too much walking dead and is isolating his daughter from her peers.

This guy is a true champion. Preppers can sometimes come across as paranoid and fanatical, this fellow however is well balanced and practical. His daughter is charming, smart and polite so he must be doing something right. He parents her with encouragement and no pressure. Thankyou for championing the bushland around Gosford and saving it from the developers .So glad I found your video. I wish you all the best.

1 thing people don't think about is what to do if you are attacked in your home after the stuff hits the fan. For me I will bargain everything I have hidden on site for my freedom knowing they can't carry it all off at once. Once I get free I still have several stashes to live off of as well as what I can find in the wild.

I don't think it's up to us preppers to provide when SHTF. The people who didn't prep aren't my problem they are just a liability that I have no interest in investing in. I'll take my family and who can be of use, the rest, good luck and god speed because you're gonna need it without a hoard of supplies.

It will be the purchasing power of the dollar that goes to near zero.
Get your old school canvas tent now while there only still $100-$350 dollars.
It doesn’t matter how or when it happens.
The fact is all fiat currencies go to zero.
    Don’t bother with a garden.
Learn to farm meat, hunt meat, slaughter and butcher.
Learn to preserve what you have.

To help with the FIRE STARTING, get a small 6" to 12" STAINLESS STEEL TUBE. Linda of like a straw. It will focus your breath on the tinder when it starts to smolder. just an idea? If you have SUN? Might be good to have a small magnifying glass to FOCUS the sun? You will need some kind of SUNSHADES? The bright spot of light MIGHT harm your eyes??

People fear or avoid the truth . Why? Because they don't want to accept where the world is placed now. So rather than be ready they ignore , and carry on with their daily norms.
Difference is having wisdom , embrace your awareness.

"Living in fear" Unlike these people eh? Division and fearmongering caused by the far right media and corporate Neo-Liberals is the main problem, the rise of the imperialist oligarchs and their war machine backed by fossil fuel industry/ human accelerated climate change deniers.

We can own firearms. I don't know why so many people (typically Americans) think guns are outright banned here. The laws are significantly stricter than they used to be, but there's more legal guns than ever in Australia.

Why do these right leaning people always think they are the chosen ones and their DNA is so special it must survive anyway? While other Australians are left to perish, imagine living your life not trusting anyone but you how sad and lonely.

As a person that has spent most of their life in remote isolation living in droveing camp's and Aboriginal communities he has no chance of survival the guy needs to get a real hobby i can see him starving sitting around with his family to weak to throw knives poor little girl mate get her a pony she doesn't dig the Bow and Arrow that was clearly obvious don't worry about this and take your Mrs and daughter out for dinner

    Prepper rubbish.
Start by getting rid of your car mate.
    Then you will be prepping.
    Ning Nongs
Imagine what you will be like if no laws are around to keep you in check.
How about we stop favouring solar panels and wind turbines and start building a better energy system.
That sounds like a better prep job to me.
