Usually I laugh at preppers because it seems like all the situations they are afraid of seems VERY improbable but the more I think about it I think I'm starting to understand it's not "What's going to happen?" but more of a "Am I ready for anything?" I guess prepping isn't as dumb as I originally thought.

Forget rock stars, movie starts and footballers. This man is a real hero and someone we should all learn from and strive to emulate. What a legend.

My 9 year old granddaughter loves the show Alone about survival in the wilderness with minimal supplies, my daughter told her they can practice survival (they live in the Rocky Mountains) and now grandma has to learn too!

What an amazing skill set he has given his daughter. Hoping nothing ever happens, but if it does she will be leaps and bounds ahead of most adults in terms of survival skills. Thanks for sharing.

I love how they respect the Indigenous and Aboriginal cultures and their survival skills in this beautiful wilderness in Australia.

"I'd like her to be resilient, know how to look after herself, if need be, not be seen as well"
As a Father to a little girl probably the same age as your daughter, and with a background in boxing/mma, this hit close to home. This tells me, Jake really understands the importance and appreciates that his daughter isn't going to have the brawn & muscles to necessarily protect herself against all outsiders, however she WILL have the brains, and as any fighter knows, a smart fighter is a dangerous fighter. Brains over brawns, always.
Any child would be proud to call you their Father mate, she's lucky to have you as I'm sure you feel you are to her. All the best, from QLD.

I don't think it's up to us preppers to provide when SHTF. The people who didn't prep aren't my problem they are just a liability that I have no interest in investing in. I'll take my family and who can be of use, the rest, good luck and god speed because you're gonna need it without a hoard of supplies.

1 thing people don't think about is what to do if you are attacked in your home after the stuff hits the fan. For me I will bargain everything I have hidden on site for my freedom knowing they can't carry it all off at once. Once I get free I still have several stashes to live off of as well as what I can find in the wild.

To help with the FIRE STARTING, get a small 6" to 12" STAINLESS STEEL TUBE. Linda of like a straw. It will focus your breath on the tinder when it starts to smolder. just an idea? If you have SUN? Might be good to have a small magnifying glass to FOCUS the sun? You will need some kind of SUNSHADES? The bright spot of light MIGHT harm your eyes??

Australia is the last country I'd want to be in when shtf. Too hot and dry. Can't out run a bush fire
