I cannot wait for the showcase on Tuesday, I really want see how Malzeno fights using the symbiotic butterfly-like organisms that surround it. If it turns out that the symbionts drain energy from prey, how do they transfer it to Malzeno. I also wonder if they serve additional purposes, like luring in prey in the Sunbreak announcement trailer.
2:39 I'm not sure Malzeno is the one that's struggling, look at it's tail it's grabbing the Lunagaron and the Lunagaron is trying to claw Malzeno. Edit: Yeah turns out that wasn't a turf war, that was Malzeno playing with his new toy.
It really do feel like history of lore, how the Golem being weak vs the werewolf and vampire while the vampire worries of being overthrown by the werewolf. Reminds me alot of movies on these monsters.
@@SadMoribund in lore vampires do fear werewolf's being the true creature of the night, vampires don't overpower werewolf's. So it is like how it is in movies, what these creatures aka three lords are base on. So i don't get how it didn't age well when i was not making a statement on yeah lunadog gonna beat malzeno.
@@zenith2876 Yes, I know this. It aged because Monster Hunter itself didn't follow that trend. Since it seems the Werewolf is losing in an incredibly one-sided turf war here, which wouldn't imply any fear or rivalry.
I though both were elder dragon level cause of the whole three lords thing. I mean didn't they say all three were fighting over territory? It would be kind of hard to fight for territory if one guy is way stronger than the other two.
only garangolm and lunagaron seemed to be fighting over expansion of territory. though i do like that the 3 lords are elden dragon levels (one of them is a literal elder dragon) so it's fair for the 3 of them.
I agree it looks that, but you have to keep in mind we've gotten like no gameplay Mal. Compared to the other two at least. Hopefully we see some more Mal action Tuesday.

I think they both are elder dragon level. I say that because even though we’ve seen quite a bit from both Garangolm and Lunagaron, Capcom is still hiding stuff about them. There is that strange red glow on Luna’s arms, plus its weapons have the deep red color. So they both might have an extra enraged state, such as Rajang’s red arms.
I think it's a pecking order because Lunagaron completally obliterates Garangolm in their turf war and and that concept art Malzeno is shown pinning Garon, so I think it will have the upper hand in the final version of the turf war too. Also I want to point out that Turf wars in Rise aren't as one sided as World's. Bishaten still has the upper hand in some parts to Almudron despite being a lot weaker.
If they do make them elder dragon level then I hope they put lots of work into making it fit. The monsters need to be a difficult fight and have decent gear. From what it looks like Malzeno seems to be an elder dragon that sits around the level of teostra and kushala. I really don't see how Magnamalo can be elder tier. It's fight isn't really hard enough nor does it keep the monster at the forefront. It's turf wars are all copy and paste so it doesn't truly show what it's capable of. Also how is it using the hellfire to super jump, if it is an explosion how does it get directed. Bazel, Teostra, and Kushala should all be too strong for Magnamalo to take out of the sky. Bazelgeuse was able to keep itself and a Ruinner Nergigante in air, so how is Magnamalo stronger than a variant of an elder dragon. Teostra and Kushala are beaten physically but not completely outclassed, they aren't immediately overpowered.
Well in regards to Bazel, it's all in the technique, Vs Ruiner, all Ruiner did was grapple on and basically use it's weight and attacked Bazel's wing, the injury combined with the added weight make them drop out of the air. Vs Magna, they struggle for a while too, Magnamalo loses it's grip and has to recover a few times until it gets into a good position to actively jet boost them down together. In both cases, the struggle basically goes on until Bazel's wings are stopped in some way (Injured by Ruiner's bite or prevented from flapping by the sudden thrust from Magna's explosion) at which they come crashing into the ground. Magnamalo simply has an advantage of being able to create it's own propulsion at even the most absurd positions so the sudden push downwards is more effective than Ruiner simply hanging on and trying to pull you downwards, this doesn't mean Magnamalo is stronger, just that it is more efficient at that specific task (of getting things out of the air).
Frankenstein, werewolf and vampire better be on that level or else their threat level is gonna be a let down, I wanna fight badass monster not pansies lol
While i doubt they would do it, it would be interesting if they made them "conditional Elder Dragon Level" where in their normal state they are clearly weaker and straight lose any ED turf wars, but when powered up (like when Luna stands up with ice armor or GG gets it's extra arm upgrades) they get treated as ED level monsters and have a slightly changed Turf War outcomes where they will tie with the various ED level monsters.
I think Malzeno is the strongest out of the three lords because there is a concept art where he is directly shown above the other two lords and because in both of the concept art where he interacts with the other two he is winning.

The garangolm turf war art makes so much more sense now knowing that malzeno can “teleport”

I think Lunagaron is a elder dragon level monster.
He got destroyed when they shown him fight malzeno.
He got bullied by Malzeno in their turf war so much they used it to show it’s cruelty. That might put Lunagaron at Rathalos or Zinogre level.

I don’t think they’ll be elder level. I always saw them more as underlings compared to Malzeno.
