Evolution Netball Drills - Defensive Footwork

This drill is aimed at focusing on defensive footwork within and around the shooting circle. Workers first drive outside the circle imitating following a GS/ GA drive to the ball, the second movement is a defensive shuffle back to the circle edge tracking and delaying the shooters back into the circle.
Then the workers drive to cover the post followed by a cut to the top of the circle in an attempt to shut down a drop feed to the circle. Finally, the workers drive back to the post coving a high feed into the shooters. The progression of this drill includes adding a ball at different points as seen in the video.
If the team are of a higher ability a post shooter can be added alongside feeds randomly to test defensive reactions.
