Just wanted to say thank you to the person who translated this video into Spanish! You have it set to not show your name, but I really appreciate that you did that - thank you!!
Love this! I am trying to learn how to do these cool dye projects! I wish you showed the finished product a little longer so we could see the front and back! Thank you so much....
I use Procion dye for my art work / not tie dying shirts : however by the end of the summer of working with it , all my work clothes were dyed in one way or another :) I decided to try traditional tie dying and the problem I had was once they hit the washing machine they basically all turned one color , I couldn't keep any white areas white , do you have any suggestions ? thx , btw -great video !
This is so cool. thank you a lot. hope i can get lighter colours if i leave it a few hours shorter, i want to make a writing print on it. i am curious how i looks like. i am trying to spare out parts of my shirt. to keep some areas free. think this is going to be fun to make and wear :)
Hi! Personally, I would follow the same method, just putting dye on the front. When the dyeing process is over, check the back and see if enough dye went through - if not, you can do it again on the back :)
These results are amazing. This is exactly what I was planning on doing, even these exact colors. So this video was very helpful & motivating. So Thank You for this! Do you have any ombre videos, or can you do one please? I also wanted to do ombre. (Fyi, this will be my first time tye dying since I was a little kid.) Couple of questions... 1) Does doing the project in Fall/Winter weather effect the results? If not, any recommendations? 2) If my items have majority of polyester, is there a dye version specific for polyester? I just ordered items to Tye Dye, but they haven't come in the mail yet, so I'm not sure what the material is made out of.
No, liquid dye should work also. Edit: I believe Amy's comment below is correct - you can always try liquid dye, but it may turn out quite different than it does with powder.
It looks pretty much identical on the front and back - the dye soaks right through. If the material is super heavy/thick it’s possible that it won’t be quite as vibrant on the back.
Ela ferveu agua, colocou no recipiente de aluminio e um pouco de sal e colocou as roupas brancas. Depois, colocou pra escorrer, pos o gelo em cima e a tinta em cima pra colorir
I did talk about it at around 4:52, but you’re right, it would have been good to mention it at the beginning of the video also. Thanks for the reminder that I should make it more clear, I will add more info about it the description. I’m sorry if it caused you any trouble!
I actually really like the subtle marble look on the pillows.

De nada
I think the pillow cases look great.
Thank you for this tutorial, I will be tie dying lots of stuff very soon.
Sherida Gensheer same I liked the pillow case more then the shirts
That's a cool look! And pretty easy to do with kids! Thanks ☺
Thank you, it's a fun technique!!
Amazing so cool you can also get dyes that are compatible to synthetics like poly or anything that's man-made. iDYE poly is a great choice.

Do you need the powder dye for this specifically or can I use a regular tie dye kit?
Hi Sarah, Should there be no polyester in the fabric or is a fabric with a high cotton content and polyester in it preferable? Thans
Gorgeous colors! Great experiment showing the different fabrics and how cotton vs polyester takes the dye.
Hi my name is Princess I love this. I want to start my own business and this is pretty much what I need
It's so pretty! So easy to do. It's like magic! Thank you.
At the very end, you show the final result for a t-shirt and a tank top. Were either of them the one you experimented with as a spiral?
Would this technique work with thicker items such a jumpers?x
Just did this! Can’t wait to see what my shirt looks like tomorrow
how did it turn out?
Amazing project for the summer !!!
Thanks! It really is the perfect project for Summer!
Creative Gen - DIY yeaaa

Came out super dope.. ♥️ it
Could you do a tutorial on how you could tie dye a shirt with different designs on the front and back?
Will using vinegar in the final rinse or wash set the color?
Question? The ice doesnt stay on the item? It just rolls right off? I had to literally stand there and hold the ice on the item?
Can you use the liquid dye for this or does it have to be powder?
I think liquid dye would still work, but powder will probably give you the best results :)
This is so cool. thank you a lot. hope i can get lighter colours if i leave it a few hours shorter, i want to make a writing print on it. i am curious how i looks like.
i am trying to spare out parts of my shirt. to keep some areas free. think this is going to be fun to make and wear :)
This is a cool technique. I have done this before.
I'm loving this shirt
Are you using dry carbon dioxide ice, or just normal water ice you get from the freezer?
Or what kind of ice are you using? They don't seem to be the ordinary transparent ones.
Nothing special - just normal ice from the freezer :)
I love it!
Could you do a pastel slant-pattern tie dye for denim shorts?
OMG!!! Love this technique to ice dye! No doubt about the hare :D
This was so helpful!! Thanks so much!!!
I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you so much! :)
Does it work with liquid dye?
I don't think that liquid dye would work super well for this, but you could always try it :)
Hello, I wanna do this on my sweater, should I follow the same procedures or I will put dye at the back as well?
Hi! Personally, I would follow the same method, just putting dye on the front. When the dyeing process is over, check the back and see if enough dye went through - if not, you can do it again on the back :)
Sarah Johnson - Pugdemonium thank you sm
Do you have to use the ice on both sides or it shows all over the clothes
You should only need to put ice on one side, the dye soaks through :)
I did it without ice just to see what it would look like, it basically looled the same but a little less bright
That's interesting that it turned out so similar, thanks for sharing!
Nice dye
If i make more than one piece, can i wash them all together in the washing machine? Thank you^.^
Yes, I think washing them together will work just fine - just be sure to rinse them well first :)
Thank you so much for sharing, I wil try at this right now.
Big thanks gurrrrl.
Can we use this dye on satin fabrica
What dye do you use?
This is the same question I have. Was hoping she answered
I used Tulip powdered fabric dye :)
I used Tulip powdered fabric dye :)
thanks sm!! super helpful
I loved this!!!!

That's INSANEEE!!!
Where did you purchase the dry die?
I believe I purchased it at Joann craft store.
Whoa! The song is my mom's ringtone. She's in hospital so I got a fright
Hope your mom is all good. ❤️
enjoyed your video
So glad to hear that! Thanks so much! :)
amazing project!
Thank you!! :)
Hab zwar so ziemlich nichts verstanden aber sieht schön aus😁
Does it have to be powder die
No, liquid dye should work also.
Edit: I believe Amy's comment below is correct - you can always try liquid dye, but it may turn out quite different than it does with powder.
Liquid dye won't give you as bold colors afterwards since the ice waters down the colors already.
Where did you find such a big container?
From the grocery store in the area where the cooking and baking pans are :)
okay thanks! :)
Great video but LOL, the way she just spills the salt water on her carpet x)
Oh wait, she’s outside haha!
Wosh u showed the front AND the back..so i cam see if this even wemt through all the way amd looks just as good on back side as front side
It looks pretty much identical on the front and back - the dye soaks right through. If the material is super heavy/thick it’s possible that it won’t be quite as vibrant on the back.
Thank you I was wondering the exact same thing.
Alguém aí q fala português, pra me explicar q raios q usou pra fazer essa estampa?!
tem eu
acho q ela usou gelo
Ela ferveu agua, colocou no recipiente de aluminio e um pouco de sal e colocou as roupas brancas. Depois, colocou pra escorrer, pos o gelo em cima e a tinta em cima pra colorir
Alguém sabe me informar quanto tempo ela deixou a tinta no gelo pra depois lavar?
#FodaNaoSaberIngles 😣
Daiane Crippa até o gelo derreter
I love it
Cool video
Thank you, for the video!
cool, wish the shot of the finished tshirts was two seconds longer, could not get a good look at the result
What is the name of the dye
Rit Dye - All Purpose Concentrated (powder)
Combien il faut le laissé
Wow!It's Cool
You don't use soda Ash before you start to dye
Hot water?
Cuanto tengo que esperar hasta lavar la remera?
After the ice is completely melted, I'd let it sit at least a couple hours - but the longer the better. I let mine sit for 24 hours :)
Do you have to soak the items?
Wow its my style~! Good~!
There beautiful 😍😍😍
Why did u ise salt😕
It helps the dye set. I use soda ash, which works a lot better than salt.
Wow
Cool 😎
Love it
Alguirn en español?
Me siento estafada, el título está en español:(

Okay that much running WATER IS BOTHERING MEEE😑😑
How come u didn't tell us no polyester before we started tie dying

I believe that you can get fabric dye specifically for polyester and similar fabrics.
Dancecute Nadiyyah actually you should watch the whole video and then afterwards start
Don't put the blame on people for your mistake 😠
Always review directions completely before starting a project or buying supplies!
Upd
I love it
