What's funny is that Brook actually did call Tracy "Granny" a couple times and Tracy would say "DON'T call me Granny!" in the exact same tone of voice Dillon did here. Consistency!
Oh the writing and acting this show used to have...I grew up watching this stuff and it’s sad to see the decline in quality. I wish it were still this good.
Right?! I try to watch occasionally now, and I’m just like, “What’s happening here? This is not even passing as decent soap opera content.” I feel like the 90s to the mid 2000s were my favorite era of soaps. What are there, like 3 now?
@@TVisMyHobby I stopped watching around 2011 and did still like it up to that point. Ever since OLTL ended and they inherited some of their cast and producer, the show has turned into something completely different and it’s really sad to see honestly. And this is coming from someone that liked OLTL. I know in the GH community people hate to hear it, but I miss Guza’s GH soooooo much. That’s what I grew up watching. It’s nearly unrecognizable now. And their casting department has lost its touch. GH used to find the best in terms of young talent on soaps.
@@Rose_1624 I did a brief stint in the 90s watching OLTL. I watched AMC for even longer. ABC used to really be on it when it came to soaps. I messed with GH for the longest, though. Basically, from the start of Sonny and Carly til he left her in 2004, I was hooked. And then even after that, I tuned in every so often. I LOVED the addition of Spinelli and the Metro Court Hostage storyline. But then they started killing ppl off like there was no tomorrow! Alan and Emily Quartermaine, Georgie, even poor Leticia. And when they recast Jason when Steve Burton left temporarily, I felt insulted. I’m glad he’s back now, but the show doesn’t evoke the same joy in me like it used to. But it’s nice reminisce with the old stuff. Thank god for UA-cam.
@@TVisMyHobby I feel like the last era I liked of this show was when they aged the Corinthos kids and gave them young adult storylines. I really liked the blended family of Sonny/Carly/Alexis and her daughters/Michael/Morgan/Jason. And Luke and his kids were still around, as was Tracy. The cast of characters and actors was just much more solid even ten years ago. What they have now just pales in comparison. And I realize the show could get dark back then, but truthfully, even though it was dark, it was so much more well done in terms of writing and acting than now. As soon as they switched headwriters after so long and started to integrate OLTL in 2012, it was game over for me.
@@Rose_1624Guza’s 2002-2011 stint was a disaster, but it wasn’t fully irredeemable. The show back then had a more down-to-earth and serious tone with better script writing back then. The show also didn’t have as big of a cast back then, so it was able to be more contained (even if their handling of that cast wasn’t great).
futuremovieactor Jason and Courtney. I don’t entirely remember the storyline details, but I think Jax was trying to woo Courtney by this point (cuz she had already left Jason), and he took her to Italy. Carly decided she wanted to get Courtney and Jason back together, so she showed up in Italy to interfere. I guess she somehow got Jason to come with her (classic ridiculous Carly scheme), and they all somehow got arrested for reasons I don’t remember. So, Jason and Courtney were put in one cell and Carly and Jax in the other, which is what Carly wanted so Jason and Courtney would be stuck together and possibly find their way back to each other. Jax was not amused, and some bickering between him and Carly ensued. Wish I coulda taped and uploaded the whole episode, but VHS tapes were in short supply for me in those days, and I had to keep taping over older episodes for newer ones. The best I could do was save short clips of particular scenes that I really liked and tape around them.
@@TVisMyHobby I did think one of them was Jason. Courtney was gone by the time I started the show full time in 2008 and I've been on-and-off constantly in the years that have followed.
