This was the first time we ever met Lucky. Actual the first time he was on screen was when we find him at the family diner getting on his bike to head for Port Charles. This was exciting for those who had known the history of the Spencers prior to this. Laura once told Luke she was pregnant and since then they went in hiding and we never saw them for a while. They were still in the show as they had been mentioned but as far as seeing the baby, we never did. I think the writers decided to play it this way because since Luke and Laura were not your typical couple, they didn't want the typical, she is pregnant and goes to the hospital etc. Instead they go on running until Lucky is 10, then they come to live in Port Charles. For those who had followed the show there after, you know the rest. By the way, Ruby is Luke and Bobbie's aunt which makes her Lucky's great aunt.
I haven't watched GH or any soap for about 8 years. Primarily because I was so tired of all the deaths & recasts. The final straw was when Luke supposedly ran over & killed Jason's baby. I was done. Its sad when they have perfect casting & then either kill off the character or recast him. This young man was perfection as Lucky. The perfect blend of Luke & Laura as well as a very good actor. When they recast, it was terrible. I know some people loved it but he was no son of Luke in my opinion. He was an ok actor but they made the character whiney & he blended into the woodwork.
I am opposed to the show firing an actor to recast but with soaps, a lot of the actors choose to leave. So the decision is either to kill them off or find a way to have them out of town. Right now, the Lucky character is in the "out of town" category, but his children are in town. So he's sort of a deadbeat, even if they perodicially reference them visiting him. IMO, the show would be better with a Lucky recast so the character can be onscreen. Recasts keep characters onscreen when they would otherwise be either dead or MIA.
I just saw Norma on a brief guest appearance on Charlie's Angels in 1976. I went to see a clip of her when L&L got married in 1979. She changed in those 3 years, and her voice got deeper. 14 yrs later
This scene is just the best. I've seen it so many times, and it warms my heart! Lucky hasn't been around in quite a few years. They mention him on occasion, but that's it. I think re-casting him was tough, and it's hard to fill someone else's shoes, especially when following the greatness of Jonathan Jackson. While we all want Lucky back, I think it's best they don't do anything until they can get the original again.
Now that JJ is back he and Luke are closer and they communicate and they truly are Luke and Lucky. Don't get me wrong GV was a good actor but to me he never was Lucky, it was like he despised Luke or something. Lucky was always in awe of Lucky and Sonny even, I didn't care for GV's portrayal of Lucky. I guess because I was just so used to JJ's version, the original version, of Lucky Spencer. Just my opinion, don't shoot me.lol.
I grew up watching gh with my mom (it's her favorite show) but when I started watching the show with her Greg Vaughn was playing lucky right before Elizabeth got pregnant and I know jonathon iackson originated the role of lucky but I had never known he was this young when that happened. Holy moly he looks so different. I didn't even recognize him. I was gonna ask if he really did originate the role or if he's just played him the longest.
stunning little boy! good actor too!
I miss JJ. He was always my favorite Lucky
Now's he's back.
I Miss Ruby she was a Great Lady RIP

BTW, I love when Lucky says "You're not gonna cry or anything, are you?" LOL!
Aw, little Lucky is a button! It's so funny watching these scenes and then watching the adult JJ on General Hospital now. So happy he's back!

I loved him from day 1! JJ was the best Lucky.
He exuded the Spencer spunk and he was intelligent and street-smart!
Love JJ as Lucky! And so glad that JJ is returning to the role once again!!!
Jonathan Jackson is my favorite idol on general hospital as lucky Spencer ❤
This was a sweet scene.
What a tear jerker and what an Honor
CLASSIC!!!
Awwwwwww baby JJ I love this 💕

Remember them days well Ruby's dinner
Haha this poor kid had to deliver a mouthful of exposition in his first scene. Handled it like a champ though.
I miss these days. I loved Ruby and JJ is the only Lucky in my eyes.
@bugsbunny18 exactly so. I like the current story with Luke and Lucky. It is as it should be finally.
I never realized that Jonathan Jackson was on general hospital on and off for these many years as a little kid as an adult. Wow, never knew that
This was Johnathan Jackson

Where’s his eyebrows? I’m about to grab my sharpie 🤨
Bla from the the past prb7155
One has to wonder why didn't they get another actor to fill in for Lucky? Considering that Jonathan Jackson is no longer acting anymore. 🤔
It was just announced that Jonathan Jackson will be coming back to General Hospital this summer.
Hahahahahahaha oh General Hospital why’d you gotta do me like that?
